Eugene B. Henry of Morrilton Ark., and who spent last summer in Weatherford with his brother-in-law, Geo. B. Willbanks, died suddenly at his home on the morning of the 30th of Nov. 1891. The following is from The Pilot one of his county papers. The whole town was thrown into mourning on Monday morning by the announcement that Col. E.B. Henry had died suddenly and without warning at an early hour at his residence. He returned a few days ago from a trip to Texas, seemingly in good health. He attended church on Sunday. On Monday morning, about 7 oÕclock he got up seemingly in good health and built a fire in his family room. Mrs. Henry, who had not gotten up, heard an unusual noice and ran to Col. Henry and caught him as he was falling, but only to see him breath his last without uttering a word. Col. Henry was born in Independence county in November, 1848, but was raised in this county. He was admitted to the bar in 1875, and soon took rank as one of the leading attorneys of the Arkansas valley. In 1881, he represented this county in the House of representatives, and in 1884 he was a Cleveland elector for the Second Congressional district. Col. Henry was one of the leading spirits in every enterprise for the improvement of town and county. In his death not only the town and county, but the State loses one of its brainiest men.
