LONE, RECOVERS BODY AFTER HOUSE AND HALF DIVING - CRAMP CAUSE While swimming in a deep takn with a younger brother and a small friend, Willie Lone, 14, was drowned Saturday, two miles north of Garner. Cramps caused the small swimmer to drown. After diving for an hour and a half, his grief stricken father, J.D. Lone, recovered the body. Young Lone, a smaller brother and a small friend were swimming in a tank belonging to Charles Howard. The tank was six feet deep in places. The first intimation those with young Lone had of his condition was when, swimming near the center of the tank, he turned and called for help. His lower limbs had become useless because of cramps due to the cool water. After attempting to rescue the swimmer and seeing that they could not they ran for help. The boy had then gone down for the last time. The two boys ran a mile and a half to the home of the father and returned with him to the tank. The body of the drowned boy was not to be found, having sunk in the deep water. He leaves behind his smaller brother, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Lone, and several other brothers and sisters. Burial took place in the Blue Spring cemetery, two miles from Garner, Sunday, Rev. Jesse W. Hart officiating.
