All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ******************************************************************************** George Smart, former citizen of Weatherford, but for several years residing in the country, died today at his home a few miles southwest of Weatherford. He was recognized as one of our best citizens, being a man of sterling integrity, whose word was as good as his bond. We have not yet learned when the funeral will take place. J.T. Smart of Comanche, arrived on the train to attend the funeral of his father, George Smart, which sad event occurred at the Curtis cemetery. The remains of George Smart, who died at his home a few miles southwest of Weatherford, were buried in the Curtis cemetery under the auspices of the Masonic fraternity, of which he had been an honored member for many years. The religious services were conducted by Pastor H.D. Knickerbocker of the First Methodist church. He left an aged companion and several grown children to mourn his demise.
