Woods had started to the station to take the train to Weatherford when way laid by Little, who fired the contents of both barrels of a shot gun into his body. One load entered downward and penetrated the intestines the other tore away the forehead and eyes, and one side of the upper part of the head. Death to Woods was instantaeous. The dead man had spent the night at the home of Mrs. Alice Beaty, Mrs. Little's mother, and where Mrs. Little had been staying since separating from her husband, which occurred some time ago. After the shooting, Little sent for the officers and guarded the body of the dead man until their arrival, when he surrendered. He made a statement to the officers after being warned that anything he might say would be used against him, saying he was justified in the killing, claiming Woods had alienated Mrs. Little's affections and said he only regreted he had not killed him six months ago. Sheriff Gilbert and County Attorney Martin were telephoned and left immediately for Millsap to investigage the particulars of the killing and returned later that day, bringing LIttle with them and placing him in jail. The killing followed alleged attentions paid to Little's wife by Woods. Little and his wife were separated about six months ago. The dead man had been married. His wife died 2-3 years ago. He leaves two young children. He was a magnificent speciman of physical manhood and was widely known as a very handsome man. He and Little were warm friends for years and Little carried him to his home several months ago and introduced him to Mrs. Little. Sometimes after a separation followed, Little alleging Woods had alienated the affections of his wife. Woods visited at the home of Mrs. Little's mother, Mrs. Alice Beatty, where Mrs. Little had lived since the separation, Thursday. HIs killing occurred after he left the house Friday. When Woods was killed, Mrs. LIttle hearing the shots ran to where he had fallen and throwing herself across the prostrate body wept bitterly. She made no statement. Her husband who was standing near said nothing to her. For many minutes she moaned and wept, the bitterness of an utterly bereft soul seemingly causing her to forget everything. She returned to her home without making a public statement or saying anything to her husban. Little has two children: a girl, 8 years, a boy, 6 years.
