One is a remarkable barn scene showing John Thomas McClung and his seven sons. I cannot identify faces of the two youngest - Farris, born Nov. 22, 1898 and Guy, born Oct. 30, 1902. I believe the older one is the one sitting on the planter, donÕt you think? The picture would be 1905-06 I think, judging from the size of the youngest. Neal, the oldest, was born 1885, so would be 20 in 1905, and in fall 1905 Claude would be 19, Burnie 17, Ewell 12 and Carl 8 Ð so the ages look about right. The McClungs are my paternal side. My grandmother was Lula Mae Woody. This is her family at Veal Station Ð Red Sam and Mollie White Woody. My aunt Ida, age 91 said her grandfather was born in this house and died in this house. So it must have been built by his father Brice Woody Ð one of the 5 Woody brothers who came to Texas.
