WIDELY KNOWN PIONEER BURIED AT SHEFFIELD

SHEFFIELD, Texas, Feb.18 (1930)
Jim W. (James William) Scott, widely known as "Uncle Jim,"  pioneer
West Texan, was buried in the Sheffield cemetery, following his death at
his ranch home near here Saturday morning.
Mr. Scott was 87 years old in December.  He came to West Texas in 1884.
Survivors besides his widow (Kate Smith Scott) are:  Mrs. Will Evans and
Mrs. Gertie Williams of Sheffield, Mrs. Bud Evans (Minnie Lee Scott, my
grandmother) of McCamey, Mrs. Bill Kerkendall of Burnett, and Charlie
and Jim Scott, Jr. of Sheffield.
