"Church Organized - Bluewater, Texas"        April 17, 1898

The Blue Water [sic] Missionary Baptist Church was organized April 17, 1898.   
With the following membwers Ruben Blankinship and wife Martha, E.P. Dowden and 
wife Levy Dowden, Martha Matthews, Rosie Bell Matthews, E. Hardy, JOel Matthews 
and wife Ansabell Matthews, and Martha Hall.

Jas Fowler, Moderator, Joel Matthews, Church Clerk

Additional Comments:
A copy of the original church record in manuscript (hand-written) format is in 
the possession of the family of the daughter of one of the last pastors of the 
church.  The father of this submitter, William Dowden, Sr., was once a church 
clerk in the 1920's.
