Gerlach, 87, of Livingston were held Tuesday, Aug. 9, 1994, from the First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Ed Dodson officiating. Interment followed in Forest Hill Cemetery. Miss Gerlach died Aug. 7, 1994 in Bur-Mont Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 17, 1906 in Livingston, the daughter of C. J. Gerlach Sr. and Emma Evans Gerlach. She graduated from Livingston High School in 1924 and then graduated from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches. Miss Gerlach shared her life with others as a school teacher, artist and professional photographer. She was known for her love of life and generous, creative spirit that endeared her to all who knew her. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and DAR. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Louis F. and Charles J. Gerlach. Survivors include Gretchen Gerlach Chambers, Carol Chambers, Cecilia Chambers Thomas and Kyle, Marjory Gerlach Brasfield, Bari Brasfield Geeslin and Bob, Charles Lyle Brasfield and Corey Austin Brasfield, Ruth Gerlach Dominy and Tommy, Lynne Dominy, and dear friend Louise Pickens. Pallbearers were Charles Brasfield, John Holleman, Bo Johnson, Warren Johnson, Kyle Thomas, John Thompson and Carney White. Honorary pallbearers were Louise Arnold, Allene Bergman, Jack Evans, Jim Evans, Ben Fannette, Ed Gerlach, Ben Glover, B. C. Lively, C. W. Lucas, J. M. Windham and members of the Robert Rankin Chapter of the DAR. Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
