Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with the Rev. Larry Richardson, pastor of Palisades Fellowship Baptist Church, and the Rev. Gary Ashlock, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery at Canyon. Mrs. Dodson was born in Paulıs Valley, Okla. She moved at an early age with her family to Bovina, where they farmed. After her marriage, she moved to Bremerton, Wash., and lived there for two years. They then moved to Hereford. They owned a small grocery store and welding shop and started a small community church. They had a gospel music program on KPAN in the early 1950s. They moved to Amarillo in 1955 and owned a welding business here. She had been a cashier at the Ferrel-Manor for many years and at the Union 76 Truck Stop for seven years. She retired three years ago as a cashier at the Radisson Inn. She was an accomplished cook and compiled and completed the cook book, "Family Heritage Cookbook." Survivors include two daughters, Judy Bozarth and Brenda Hickam, both of Amarillo; a son, Jack Dodson of Amarillo; two sisters, Francis Owen of Amarillo and Eunice Horner of Friona; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to St. Anthonyıs Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. Eugene P. Cox Eugene P. "Gene" Cox, 61, of 5209 Astoria St., died Monday, Dec. 9, 1996. Burial will be at a later date. Mr. Cox was born in Clarendon and had lived in Amarillo all of his life. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1953 and from McMurray College in 1957. He worked for Panhandle Savings and Gibraltar Savings. He also worked for Time Chemical for 13 years and for Clean Care for three years. He was a former member of the South Amarillo Optimist Club. He was a Methodist. He married Virginia Prince in 1956 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Teresa Cook of Mandeville, La., and Stephanie Cox of Amarillo; a son, Greg Cox of North Richland Hills; his mother, Aline Cox of Amarillo; a sister, Rose Paul of Joplin, Mo.; and three grandchildren. John Dee Dunn John Dee Dunn, 79, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1996. He attended New Mexico State University. He served with the Navy attached to the Marine Corps during World War II. He served in the South Pacific and received a Purple Heart. He moved to Amarillo 50 years ago and was a salesman in the plumbing business. He had been the owner of Pollyıs Pub for the last 20 years. He was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married Ella Pauline "Polly" Dixon in 1971 at Amarillo. Mary White Mary White, 90, a former Amarillo resident, died Monday, Dec. 9, 1996, in Portales, N.M. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. White was born in Mangath and moved to Amarillo in 1913. She graduated from Amarillo High School. She married Conway White in 1925 at Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Lyndol White. She retired from Northwest Texas Hospital in 1968 after 26 years of service. After retiring, she worked for Missionary Council and Shut In Visitation. She was a lifetime member of First Assembly of God. She had been a resident of the Plains Regional Nursing Facility in Portales since 1994. Survivors include a son, Don White of Portales; a grandson; and five great-grandchildren. He died in 1975. She was a bookkeeper for Phillips Petroleum for 15 years and worked for Dr. John Austin for 12 years. She retired in 1978. She was a charter member of St. Maryıs Catholic Church, the Martha Club and St. Judeıs Circle. She was a volunteer for St. Anthonyıs Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Smart and Janice Goodin, both of Amarillo; a son, Mike Bellah of Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Tell Cemetery at Tell by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Wyatt was born in Wolfe City. He moved to Tell in 1919 and lived there until 1951 when he moved to Carey. He had been a farmer. He was a member of the Senior Citizens. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie, in 1978, and two sons, Lewis Dewayne in 1936 and Edwin Wyatt in 1995. Survivors include two sons, J.B. Wyatt of Childress and Franklin Wyatt of Carey; a sister, Oma Houser of Childress; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Mr. Moore was born in Childress County and had been a lifetime resident there. He was a tire recapper for O.K. Rubber Welders for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Faye Moore, in 1980, and his second wife, Pauline Moore, in 1996. Laverne Williams MEMPHIS - Laverne Williams, 59, died Monday, December 9, 1996. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. J.E. Smith and the Rev. R.H. Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Spicer Funeral Home. Mrs. Williams was born in Marshall. She attended school in Marshall until moving in 1952 to Memphis, where she attended Morningside School. She united with the new Mount Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of L.L. Gipson. She married Garfield Williams. Survivors include a son, Kirk Wayne Fields of Altus, Okla.; two sisters, Ester Fields of Memphis and Thelma Morris of Dallas; two brothers, Curtis Fields Jr. and Kenneth Ray Fields, both of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Doris Holly TULIA - Doris Holly, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1996. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Davenport, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Holly was born and raised in Tulia. She graduated from Tulia High School in 1931 and attended West Texas State College in Canyon for two years. She returned to Tulia and worked for Kellogıs Variety Store. She married Otha Holly in 1937 at Tulia. He died in 1978. She became the family farm manager at that time. She was a homemaker and a had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1925. She worked for the sheriffıs office when it was combined with the tax assessorıs office. She typed out the first driverıs license that was issued in 1935. She also worked at the Grand Theater as a night cashier. She helped with the Tulia elections for more than 30 years. Survivors include a daughter, Annette Holly of Tulia; and a sister, Olga Vars of Canyon. Flora Noland PLAINVIEW - Flora Noland, 88, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1996. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Parklawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Joe P. Weldon, pastor of Parkview Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Noland was born, raised and attended school in Ardmore, Okla. She married Haskell Truman Noland in 1925 at Ardmore. He died in 1968. After her marriage, she lived in Ardmore and then moved to Plainview in 1937. She worked at Lusters Laundry for 12 years. She also worked at the Care Inn, Cloverlake Dairy and Holiday Inn. Survivors include a son, Glen Noland of Roanoke; five daughters, Leta McAnally, Trulene Reed, Tommie Shannon and Jackie Harrell, all of Plainview, and Mary Hughes of Pampa; a brother, Guy Stiewig of Plainview; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Mary Jane Adkins PLAINVIEW - Mary Jane Adkins, 77, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 1996. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Garland Street Church of Christ with Karl King, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery at Amarillo by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Adkins was born in Amarillo. She moved to Plainview in 1953 from Amarillo. She was a homemaker and a member of Garland Street Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.L. Adkins, in 1970. Survivors include a son, Jack L. Adkins of Mora, N.M.; a daughter, Jan Floyd of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. James Walter Immel BORGER - James Walter Immel, 94, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1996. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. W. Winfred Moore, distinguished professor of religion at Baylor University, officiating. Mr. Immel was born in Indian Territory. He had been a resident of Borger for 70 years, moving from Oklahoma. He owned a house-moving business. He married Doneta Davis in 1926 at Oklahoma. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the ISOM Masonic Lodge No. 1242. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dora Thompson, in 1996. Survivors include his wife; a son, David Immel of Borger; two daughters, Pearl Adams of Borger and Nora Osborne of Houston; two sisters, Vera Lamon of Atoka, Okla., and Mattie Stottlemyre of Fritch; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Survivors include his mother, Wanda Hinton of Hedley; his father, Richard Hinton of Claude; a sister, Renee Lindsey of Vega; two brothers, Tony Hinton and Jody Hinton, both of Claude; and grandparents, James and Edith White of Hedley. Elsewhere Walter Ashby Love NEW WAVERLY - Walter Ashby Love, 93, died Friday, Nov. 29, 1996. Memorial services were at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, in Reeves Forest Lawn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Dale Cowell officiating. Mr. Love was born in Lincoln County, Meeker, Okla. In 1915, his family homesteaded in Baca County, Colo. He graduated from high school in 1925 at Grand Junction, Colo. He moved to Modesto, Calif., in 1926, and to Idaho in 1928. He returned to Palisade, Colo., in 1931, and moved back to Idaho in 1935. He married Mildred Nell Young in 1936 at Kootenai County, Idaho. In 1941, he began working for C.O. Stocker, doing work for Phillips Petroleum. He was transferred in 1946 to the gasoline plant as a crane operator. He was elected chairman of the gasoline department of Local No 351 International Union of Operating Engineers and served two terms. He also served 20 years as the Democratic chairman of Precinct Eight. He retired from Phillips in 1968 and traveled with his wife for ten years. They moved to New Waverly in 1995. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Lotus Cowell of Houston, Laura Rios of Amarillo and Marynell Young of Huntsville; a brother, Harry Love of Wenatchee, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Robert E. Wells II WHEATRIDGE, Colo. - Robert E. Wells II, 33, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 1996. Private memorial services were Tuesday, Dec. 3, in the All Veterans Burial and Crematorium with Chris Jones, chaplain, officiating. The body was cremated. Mr. Wells was born in Cozad, Neb. His early years were spent in Cozad, Kearney, Neb., and Clovis, N.M. He went to junior high and high school in Burlington, Colo., Fort Collins, Colo., and Denver. After graduating from Rocky Mountain High School in 1981, he studied accounting and computers. He joined the Air Force and was based in California. He received the Air Force training ribbon and was recognized as an outstanding member of the U.S. Air Force Drill Team Squad. While in the service, he worked as a non-destructive inspection specialist, determining the structural safety of various aircraft. After receiving an honorable discharge, he moved to Amarillo and was general manager and accountant at a local retail store. He volunteered for the Boys Scouts of America, Respite Care and Colorado AIDS Project. Survivors include his mother, Beverly Wells-Jensen of Northglenn; four sisters, Victoria Wells of Westminster, Rhonda Wells of Elk City, Okla., and Rochelle Wells and Valerie Wells-Baker, both of Fort Collins; and two stepsisters, Cathy Jensen of Middleboro, Mass., and Sharon Jensen-Leonard of Amarillo. New Mexico Katherine Josephine LaFrance CLOVIS, N.M. - Katherine Josephine "Kathy" LaFrance, 46, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 1996. Mrs. LaFrance was born in San Geronimo. She entered the Army in 1969 and moved to Clovis in 1983. She married Daniel LaFrance in 1983 at Portales. She was an ombudsman for the Friendship Center in Clovis and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She was Catholic. Survivors include her husband; a son, Brian LaFrance of Clovis; eight brothers, Robert Santillanes and David Santillanes, both of Albuquerque, Ray Santillanes of El Paso, Texas, Gilbert Santillanes of Gallup, Apolonio Santillanes, Fred Santillanes and Michael Santillanes, all of Portales, and Johnny Santillanes of Santa Fe; three sisters, Lourdes Encinias and Priscilla Suanda, both of Portales, and Gloria Santillanes of Albuquerque; and grandmother, Soledad Lopez of Mora. The body will not be available for viewing. Oklahoma Sam Craig ALTUS, Okla. - Sam Craig, 43, died Monday, Dec. 9, 1996. Services will be this morning at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Spencer officiating. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Victory Memorial United Methodist Church in Guymon with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor, and the Rev. Shannon Davis, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery at Guymon by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. Arrangements in Altus are by Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Mr. Craig was born in New Orleans. His family made their home in Guymon for many years. He graduated from Guymon High School in 1971. He also graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Okla. He married Dana Rook in 1975 at Altus. He had lived in Altus for the past 22 years. He had been the Altus High School band director for many years. He was a member of the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Kappa Kappa Si, the Oklahoma Music Education Association and Phi Beta Mu band fraternity. He had served as president of the Southwestern Oklahoma Band Directors Association and was honored with the the 1978 Band Director of the Year award. He participated in the Music Educators National Conference and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Altus. Survivors include his wife; two children, Becky Craig and David Craig, both of Altus; his parents, Sam and Jeanne Craig of Guymon; and a sister, Karen Knudsen of Oklahoma City. Friends may visit the funeral home from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday. A Sam Craig Memorial has been established for the Instrumental Music Memorial Scholarship at Southwestern Oklahoma State University or the Altus High School Band Department.
