Flaherty BORGER - Lawrence G. Flaherty, 71, died Monday, Dec. 16, 1996. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, in Overland Park, Kan. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens at Olathe, Kan. Mr. Flaherty was born in Kansas City, Kan., and lived there until 1982, when he was transferred to Borger by Phillips Petroleum Co. He was employed by Phillips for 38 years. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Navy Seabees. He had also served in the National Guard Reserves. He was a member of Wyandotte Lodge No. 3 AF&AM. Survivors include his wife, Lillian P. Flaherty, of Borger; a son, David Flaherty of Fritch; a daughter, Marsha Flaherty of Olathe; and six grandchildren. The family will be at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and requests memorials be to the American Cancer Society, 5960 Dearborn, Suite 100, Mission, Kan. 66202-3361. Mary Bernice McIntush MEMPHIS - Mary Bernice McIntush, 87, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1996. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Spicer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Knowles officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. McIntush was born in Memphis. She married Leroy McCoy in 1950; he died in 1958. She then married J.F. McIntush in 1963; he died in 1982. She was a nurses aide at Odom Hospital, Goodall Hospital and Hall County Hospital. She had worked for 25 years with the American Cancer Society and for eight years with the Hall County Heritage Museum. Survivors include a niece, Merlene Burks Witham; a great nephew, Mike Witham; and a great niece, Toni Witham. The family requests memorials be to Memphis Ambulance Service, Cal Farley's Boys Ranch or a favorite charity. Marvin Brown Smith MEMPHIS - Marvin Brown Smith, 90, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1996. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Spicer Funeral Home. Mr. Smith was born at Indian Creek, near Memphis. He married Vallie Oree Moore; she died in 1964. He then married Orelia Monzingo in 1968 at Odessa; she died Nov. 20. He was a farmer and a lifetime resident of the Hall County area. He was a Methodist. Survivors include two sons, Truman Smith of San Antonio and Marvin Smith of Black Hawk, Colo.; a daughter, Iris Palmer of San Antonio; a sister, Jo Mae Merrill of Quitaque; and two grandsons. The family will be at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Lois Bonnell Reynolds FLOYDADA - Lois Bonnell Reynolds, 83, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 1996. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Gene McCarty, minister of City Park Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery. Mrs. Reynolds was born in the McCoy community of Floyd County. She attended and graduated from McCoy schools. She married Harvey Reynolds in 1938 at Floydada. They lived in Idalou, then moved back to Floydada in 1962. She was a homemaker and a member of Westside Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband; a brother, Merrell Cox of Lubbock; and a sister, Ina Lewis of Floydada. Allen Nelson SUNRAY - Allen Nelson, 31, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 1996. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Roger Green, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Nelson was born in Grants Pass, Ore., and was a former longtime resident of Sunray. Survivors include his parents, Frank and Shirley Nelson of Sunray; a brother, Jimmie Nelson of Sunray; a sister, Sebrina Nelson of Sunray; and his grandmother, Verdie Nelson of Grants Pass, Ore. The family will be at 303 Ave. J. in Sunray. Richard Castillo HEREFORD - Richard Castillo, 51, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1996. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today in Rix Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in San Jose Catholic Church with Jesse Guererro, deacon, officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Mr. Castillo was born in San Marcos. He was a plumber and a member of San Jose Catholic Church. He had lived in Hereford since 1966. Survivors include his wife, Christina; a son, Richard Castillo of Hereford; two daughters, Elizabeth Castillo of Hereford and Amy Castillo of Amarillo; four brothers; one sister; his mother, Annastacia Castillo of Hereford; and four grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to St. Anthony's Hospital. Martina Gonzales PLAINVIEW - Martina Gonzales, 71, died Monday, Dec. 16, 1996. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Ben Kasteel, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Gonzales was born in New Braunfels. She moved to Edmonson in 1949 and to Plainview in 1957. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, the Cursillistas, and the Guadalupanas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Simplicio Gonzales, in 1971; a daughter, Janie Hemby, in 1985; and a son, Ray Gonzales, in 1996. Survivors include four daughters, Frances Jalomo and Simona Santaallano, both of Cactus, and Elmira Ayala and Rosa Gonzales, both of Plainview; four sons, Roy Gonzales and Tony Gonzales, both of San Antonio, and Armeldo Gonzales and Joe Gonzales, both of Plainview; three brothers, Alfredo Ortega of Levelland and Nicklas Ortega and Thomas Ortega, both of Bernard; two sisters, Gregoria Gonzales and Ninfa Siaze, both of Bernard; 52 grandchildren; 84 greatgrandchildren; 107 great-great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-great-grandchildren. Robert O. Clark DIMMITT - Robert O. Clark, 69, died Monday, Dec. 16, 1996. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home Ivy Chapel with Harry Riggs, pastor of 4th and Bedford Street Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Clark was born in Webster County, W.Va. He had lived in Friona and Muleshoe before moving to Dimmitt in 1989. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a truck driver. He married Glendora Canfield in 1953 at Lewisburg, W.Va. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Clinton Clark, Robert Clark and Roger Clark, all of Dimmitt, Charles Clark of Slaton and Bobby C. Clark of Ossian, Ind.; five daughters, Judy Reed and Terry Hawk, both of Aliquippa, Penn., Bonita Sparkman of Charleston, Ark., Beverly Rouse of Lubbock and Regina White of Dimmitt; three brothers, George "Joe" Clark, Fred Clark and Keith Clark, all of Webster Springs, W.Va.; five sisters, Cathleen Pritt and Anna J. Brooks, both of Webster Springs, Eleanor Kremmel of Buckhannon, W.Va., Mabel Everly of Pennsylvania, and Fonda Wilkins of Berkley Springs, W.Va.; 21 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the American Cancer Society. Canyon Mildred E. Davis Mildred E. "Betty" Davis, 86, of Canyon, died Monday, Dec. 16, 1996. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Brooks Funeral Directors Chapel with Dr. Charles Price, pastor of First Baptist Church of Canyon, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Mrs. Davis was born in Roanoke, Va., moved to Canyon at the age of 2 and had lived in Randall County most of her life. She married Milburn Davis in 1938 at Clovis, N.M. She retired from the dry cleaning and cafeteria business. She was a member of Canyon First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Peggy Tucker and Sandra Hord, both of Canyon, Carolyn Harris of Bartlesville, Okla., and Marilyn Mathews of Arkansas City, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three greatgreat grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice. Elsewhere Minnie K.L. Smartt LUBBOCK - Minnie K.L. Smartt, 95, a former resident of Floydada, died Friday, Dec. 13, 1996. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home Memorial Chapel at Floydada with the Rev. Ione Sedinger, pastor of First Christian Church at Floydada, officiating. Mrs. Smartt was born in Motley County. She moved to Lubbock from South Africa in 1992. She was a member of First Christian Church at Floydada. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hughwood Smartt. Survivors include a daughter, K. Hughetta "Babe" Martin of Lubbock; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren. Nina Richmond Price PAMPA - Nina Richmond Price, 80, a former Pampa resident, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 1996, in San Antonio. Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Jacob Clemmens, rector of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Price was born in Edenton, N.C., and moved to Pampa in 1945 from Amarillo. She married George Frederick Richmond in 1939 at Roanoke, Va.; he died in 1978. She later married Orbie Lee "Joe" Price in 1983; he died in 1988. She was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church at Pampa and the Pampa Duplicate Bridge Club. She was a former longtime employee of Pampa Office Supply and Fugate Printing and Office Supply. Survivors include four daughters, June Johnson of Tucumcari, N.M., Peggy Waldrop of Fort Worth, Alice Buske of San Antonio and Paula Foelker of Corpus Christi; two sons, George Richmond of Rockport and Phil Richmond of Briscoe; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
