Alexander DUMAS - W.S. "Vester" Alexander, 69, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1996. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Clark of Bible Baptist Church and Dr. Mike Weinman of First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery. Mr. Alexander was born in Headrick, Okla., and had lived in Dumas for 60 years. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps in World War II. He had worked for W.D. Jones in Dumas as a driller for 37 years and was a member of Bible Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Alexander, in 1983. Survivors include two sons, Alan Alexander of Dumas and Lonny Alexander of Amarillo; his mother, Ruby Alexander of Dumas; two brothers, Leroy Alexander of Amarillo and Andy Alexander of Dumas; a sister, Ann Ballard of Dumas; and eight grandchildren. The family will be at 116 Armstrong in Dumas. William E. Riley PAMPA - William E. "Ebb" Riley, 79, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 1996. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Darrell Monday and the Rev. Bill Austin, retired Baptist missionary from Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Riley was born in Garza. He married Vera Inez Hawkins in 1938 in Pampa. She died in 1992. He moved to Pampa in 1950. He was a member and a deacon of the Central Baptist Church. He retired from Hoechst Celanese after 35 years service. After retirement, he worked for Ford's Body Shop as an office manager for more than 10 years. Survivors include three daughters, Debby Dancel of Pampa, Charlotte Fleming of Amarillo and LaNell Thornton of Dallas; two sisters; Oleta Robertson of Denton and Elaine Fuller of Lubbock; a brother, Herbert Riley of San Angelo; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Central Baptist Church Building Fund. Johnye E. Davis DIMMITT - Johnye E. Davis, 84, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 1996. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rusty Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mrs. Davis was born in Blossom. She married Tom Davis in 1929 in Paris, Texas. He died in 1971. She moved to Dimmitt in 1952 from Blossom. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Runyon in 1953 and Tommye Ann Swain in 1971. Survivors include four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to American Cancer Society. Angie Lois Freeman CANADIAN - Angie Lois Freeman, 83, died Monday, Dec. 16, 1996. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Lewis Holland officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery by Strickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mrs. Freeman was born in Kerr County. As a teen-ager she moved to Hemphill County from Bandera. She married Ralph Freeman in 1929 in Cheyenne, Okla. She sold Avon products for 23 years and was a former member of a Hemphill County Home Demonstration Club. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Hemphill County Library Foundation. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Lois Bussell of Ringwood, Okla.; a son, Roger Freeman of Dickinson; two brothers, Buddy Hubble of Medina and Tommy Hubble of Uvalde ; six sisters, Eula Coleman of Lefors, Charlotte Sanderfer of Blessings, Mickie Causey and Cleo Pyka, both of Bandera, and Victoria Cabinese and Genevie Whitehead, both of Medina; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight great-greatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Edward Abraham Memorial Home or a favorite charity. James Clark Reagan WHEELER - James Clark Reagan, 89, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1996. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Wheeler Church of Christ with Bill Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Reagan was born in Jacksonville and graduated from Jacksonville High School. He married Sadie Gilstrap in 1925. She died in 1945. He married Vergia Summerour Bentley in 1947 in Canadian. He worked at the Harvey House in Canadian for several years, served as Hemphill County deputy sheriff for two years and was the Canadian city water superintendent for 25 years. He owned and operated the Gageby Store for four years before moving to Wheeler in 1974. In Wheeler he worked for a service station for five years and served as Wheeler County Justice of the Peace for four years, retiring in 1988. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Canadian Fire Department. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the Odd Fellows. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Barbara Oldroyd of Corsicana and Nadine Graves of Lancaster; a son, Roger Reagan of Jacksonville; a stepson, Richard Bentley of Perryton; two stepdaughters, Barbara Jackson of Odessa and Ruth Morey of Canadian; five grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 18 stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandchild. The family requests memorials be to Westview Boys Home in Hollis, Okla., or Hemphill County Hospice. Orville H. Bouldin STRATFORD - Orville H. Bouldin, 90, died died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 1996. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Stratford Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Metzger of First United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Bouldin was born in Channing. He lived in Stratford for more than 50 years. He was a cowboy and an Army veteran, serving in World War II. He married Barbara Coffman in 1944 at Tucumcari, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roy Bouldin of Gainesville and Loren Ted Bouldin of Stratford; two daughters, Brenda McClellan of Stratford and Kay Hawthorne of San Antonio; two sisters, Buenta McKay of Canyon and Adra Stoglin of Los Angeles; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family will be at their home six miles southwest of Stratford and suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1289, Stratford, Texas 79084. R.B. Phillips MEMPHIS - R.B. Phillips, 72, died Monday, Dec. 16, 1996, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. O.K. Bowen and the Rev. Tom Posey officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington. Mr. Phillips was born in the Harrolds Chapel Community of Childress County and graduated from Memphis High School in 1942. He married Wanda Posey in 1942 at Estelline. He was a farmer and operated Phillips Irrigation Parts from 1972 to 1994. He had served six years on the Memphis School Board and as director of the Hall County Farmers Home Administration and the Hall County Farm Bureau. He was a former member of the Memphis I.O.O.F. Lodge. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, and was past president of the Brotherhood Association. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Phillips, in 1968 and by two brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Dianne Sweatt of Memphis and Elaine Kistner of Walnut Creek, Calif.; three brothers, Cecil Phillips, Troy Phillips and Nig Phillips, all of Memphis; four sisters, Ava Dell Clark of Longview, Honeria Helm of Memphis, Corene Henderson of Kirkland and Faye Ellsberry of Farmers Branch; four grandsons; and four great-grandsons. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity of the Fairview Cemetery.
