Mr. McClure was born in Coxsackie, N.Y., and had lived in Amarillo since 1948. He was a professional electrical engineer for Southwestern Public Service Co. He was a member of the Southwestern Public Service Co. retirees, the Texas Society of Professional Engineers, the Amarillo Humane Society and the Sierra Club. He also was a member of First Christian Church of Amarillo. His wife, Dorothy Lee, preceded him in death in 1992. Survivors include a son, Bruce McClure of Lake Charles, La.; two daughters, Gayle DeBusk of Houston and Laurel Currie of San Antonio; a brother, Marvin McClure of Newington, Conn.; and six grandchildren. Dorothy SiemantelDorothy Siemantel, 71, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 1996. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Mrs. Siemantel was born in Canadian and moved to Amarillo 36 years ago. She married Arthur E. Siemantel in 1946 at Canadian. She was a homemaker and a Presbyterian. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Toni L. Christian of Iowa Park and Tammy Fortin of Amarillo; a brother, Jerry Sportsman of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. POTTER Annie Potter Annie ``Nan'' Potter, 102, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 1996. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Potter was born in Arlington. In 1895, the family moved from Arlington to Clarendon in a covered wagon, taking them 30 days to arrive there. She married Paul A. Potter in 1915. He died in 1962. She had lived in Amarillo, Tucumcari, N.M., and Plainview. She moved to Pampa and then to Borger before moving back to Amarillo in 1937. She moved back to Borger and lived there from 1939 to 1957. She then moved back to Amarillo. She was the first resident to live in Park Place Towers. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, P.B. Potter of Borger; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. PETERS Dr. Alfred Peters Dr. Alfred Peters, 80, of Amarillo, died Friday, Dec. 27, 1996. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., with Paul Sneed of Central Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Dr. Peters was born in New York City and moved to Amarillo in 1941. He graduated from Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa, in 1941 and started his practice at 1223 Taylor St. in Amarillo that same year. He married Vadys ``Kit'' Carson in 1941 at Bovina. In 1943, he entered the Navy as a pharmacist's mate. He was discharged in 1945. He moved his practice to 1203 W. Sixth Ave. and specialized in grostic technique. During the 1950s he served as secretary and treasurer of the Chiropractic Society of Texas. He served for two terms as CST president from 1965 to 1967. He was a lifetime member of the CST and was awarded the CST Presidential Citation in 1976. In 1967 he was awarded the Distinguished Fellow of ICA, and in 1968 he was awarded the L. George Grupe Memorial Award and Chiropractor of the Year. He was commissioned an Admiral in 1971 in the Texas Navy. He was awarded the Who's Who in Texas in 1975. Dr. Peters was awarded the Sterling Pruitt Humanitarian Award in 1990 and the Life Service Award in 1994. He retired in 1996. He was editor of the Spinal Column and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jodi Bytheway of Amarillo; a son, Roger Brian Peters of Wildorado; a sister, Laura Orsini of Woodbridge, N.J.; and four grandchildren. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Morris was born in Mexico and moved to Amarillo in 1940. He graduated from Allen Military Academy in Bryan and also from the University of Texas at Austin in 1940. He married Margaret Birdwell in 1940. She died in 1975. He married Leota Morris in 1979. He worked for American Smelting Co., and then transferred to ASARCO in 1975. He retired in 1980. He was a member of Westview Christian Church. Survivors include his wife; a son, Henry Lee Morris of Chicago; a daughter, Becky Woodward of Amarillo; a sister, Nancy Morris of San Antonio; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He attended school in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as an aircraft mechanic. He worked for Colorado Interstate Gas as a district repairman and plant supervisor for 31 years. He retired in 1984. He was a member of the Khiva Temple, and was president of the Khiva Drum Corps in 1992 and Man of the Year in the Drum Corps in 1991. He was a member of Palo Duro Masonic Lodge No. 1239 and the York Rite. Mr. Gruver married Dottie Collins in 1945 at Fort Kearney, Neb. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Danny Gruver, Tim Gruver and Randy Gruver, all of Amarillo; a sister, Carmen Gruver of Amarillo; a brother, E. Earl Gruver of Lubbock; and two grandchildren. Mr. Willis was born in Ava, Mo., and had lived in Pampa since 1923. He married Josephine ``Pat'' Willis in 1949 at White Deer. She died in 1993. He was the owner and operator of Willis Welding Shop for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in Germany. J.T. Mitchell CHILDRESS - J.T. Mitchell, 78, died Friday, Dec. 27, 1996. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Mitchell was born in Childress and graduated from Childress High School. He married Maidelle Perkins in 1941 at Childress. He was a public school teacher for more than 30 years, having taught in Denver City from 1946 to 1983. He also farmed in Childress, Cottle and Hardeman counties from the 1950s to the 1980s. He was a partner in Harrison Well Service, Mustang Butane and Whitie's Service Station in Denver City. He was a member of the Methodist church in Denver City, where he was on the board of trustees and was a past chairman. He also taught Sunday school and was a member of the Methodist Men. During World War II, he was a navigation instructor for the Army Air Corps in Hondo. He also served in the Pacific and Guam. He was an instructor for the Navy in Chicago and Oklahoma City. Survivors include his wife; a son, Truitt Mitchell of Sundown; two sisters, Lois Odom of Crosbyton and Dr. Brownie Kimbrough of Siloam Springs, Ark.; and three grandchildren. The family will receive visitors at their residence in Denver City from 1 to 4 p.m. today. Aaron Dale Wilcox DIMMITT - Aaron Dale Wilcox, 16, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 1996. Mr. Wilcox was born in Dimmitt and had been a lifetime resident there. He was a sophomore at Dimmitt High School and a member of the varsity football and track teams. He also was a member of FFA, FHA, FCA, 4-H trap shooting and livestock showing. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Litchfield was born in Benjamin, Mo. She was a lifelong resident of Higgins and graduated from Higgins High School. He married Verl D. Litchfield in 1928 at Higgins. He died in 1961. She also was preceded in death by a son, Don Litchfield, in 1993. She was a telephone operator for General Telephone Co. for several years. She also was a homemaker and a member of Higgins First United Methodist Church, the Busy Bee Quilting Club, TOPS Club and Lipscomb County Home Demonstration Club. For the past four years she had been a resident of Abraham Memorial Home in Canadian. Roy L. Jordan LEFORS - Roy L. Jordan, 85, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 1996. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Assembly of God in Pampa with the Rev. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Jordan was born in May, Okla. He moved to Perryton from May in 1941. He married Helen Ishmael in 1937 at Woodward, Okla. In 1943, they moved to Pampa and he began working for Carbon Black. They moved from Pampa to Lefors in 1950. He worked for Gray County for 15 years before retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Lefors volunteer fire department for 35 years and served as chief for part of that time. He was a member of Pampa Masonic Lodge No. 966 AF&AM and First Assembly of God in Pampa. He married Mary Ann Paschel in 1929 at Johnson County, Kan. She preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Edward Rohrbach; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He married Henrietta Collard in 1976 at Las Vegas, Nev. He had been living in Clovis for 10 years. After serving in the Air Force, he was a boilermaker. Dorothy S. Burge CLOVIS, N.M. - Dorothy S. Burge, 90, died Friday, Dec. 27, 1996. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memory Garden Memorial Park in Brea, Calif. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home. Mrs. Burge was born in Philadelphia. She married Henry J. Burge in 1923 at Elkton, Md. He died in 1975. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Robert H. Burge in 1990 and Richard L. Burge in 1994. She moved to Clovis in 1995. She retired as a real estate broker. She was of the Episcopal faith. Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy V. Bill Barker MIDLAND - Bill Barker, 65, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 1996. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with Dr. Gary Dyer officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Barker was born in Chalk. He was raised in Clovis, N.M., and graduated from Clovis High School in 1950. He married Pat Anglin in 1951 at Clovis. He served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955. After being discharged, his family moved to Amarillo and lived there from 1955 to 1974. He attended West Texas State University in Canyon and earned a bachelor's degree in business and education in 1961. While attending college in Canyon, he worked full time for Texaco in Amarillo. They moved to Lubbock in 1975 and to Midland in 1978. He worked at Texaco in the marketing and gas departments and retired after 34 years with the company. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a master Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He also was a member of Ranchland Hills Country Club. Survivors include his wife; a son, Danny Barker of Midland; a daughter, Becky Bryant of Amarillo; two sisters, Joan Black of Amarillo and Emma Dee Stevens of Houston; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Elkhart Cemetery at Elkhart, Kan. Mr. Tucker was born in Elkhart and had been a resident of Oklahoma City for three years. He was a university student and a Navy veteran. Survivors include his parents, Kay Reece of Borger and Tom Tucker of Hooker; a brother, Tom G. Tucker of Woodbury, Minn.; two sisters, Carol Hadley and Lois Villnave, both of Borger; and a grandmother, Evelyn Wood of Borger.
