Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Batson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home Inc., 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Egan was born in Hartford, Conn. He graduated from Hartford High School. He served in the Air Force achieving the rank of staff sergeant before obtaining a four-year honorable discharge. He was stationed at Amarillo Air Force Base in 1951. He joined the Amarillo GlobeNews staff after leaving the Air Force. He worked in the Classified Department of Amarillo Globe-News for 39 years. In 1972, he was promoted to outside sales supervisor for the classified advertising department. He retired from the newspaper Feb. 25, 1994. He married Pat Hutton in 1974 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Celeste Marie Cole in 1983. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Claire Burks of Rockwall, Lisa Dial of Rowlett and Laura Wofford of Mesquite; a son, Navy Lt. John R. Egan Jr. of San Diego; a stepson, Brad Hutton of Amarillo; and nine grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home, and requests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center or the American Cancer Society. Marion Buckley Smith Marion Buckley Smith, 62, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in North Amarillo Church of Christ with Dalton Key, of North Amarillo Church of Christ, and Glen Walton, of Bell Avenue Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home Inc., 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Smith was born in Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High School. She was a member of North Amarillo Church of Christ where she had taught Bible classes for the last six years. She married Hoyt Smith in 1989. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Karen Holdcraft of Semi Valley, Calif., Kitty Cooksey of Liberty, Ind., and Kate Hamilton of Amarillo; two sons, Kevin Holdcraft of Security, Colo., and Max Holdcraft of Semi Valley; three stepdaughters, Susan Leavitt of Tacoma, Wash., and Linda Sue Gore and Sherry Lovett, both of Amarillo; three stepsons, Hoyt D. Eunice Harris Eunice Harris, 94, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery with Lynn Garrett officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Harris was born in Hopkins County and had lived in Amarillo most of her life. She married Beryl R. Harris in 1944. He died in 1962. She was the former owner of Harris Co., a furniture retail sales business. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Mary's Sunday school class. Survivors include four sisters, Marie Barber of Marshall, Theresa Daley of Houston and June Murphy and Myrtie Harris, both of Amarillo. Emma M. Teed Emma M. Teed, 86, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home East Mausoleum Chapel, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Phil Mercado, of Trinity Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Teed was born in Utica, Kan., and moved to Amarillo in 1926 from Kansas. She was a homemaker and a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church. She married Orlin Fredrick Teed in 1946 in New Mexico. He died in 1976. Survivors include a son, Bud Teed of Fullerton, Calif.; three daughters, Dorothy Keith, Velda Slagle and Joyce Allen, all of Amarillo; a brother, Norman Ecker of Amarillo; a sister, Nelda Wright of Rome, Ga.; 17 grandchildren; 37 greatgrandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. Juan R. Urias Juan R. Urias, 62, of Amarillo, died Friday, Nov. 28, 1997. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Urias was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, but had lived in Amarillo most of his life. He worked as a cabinet maker and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice, in September. Survivors include three sons, Miguel Angel Urias, Jesus Manuel Urias and Martin Urias, all of Amarillo; three daughters, Elvira Urias Piedra, Maria Eulalia Urias Pereda and Armida Urias Zubia, all of Amarillo; a brother, Natividad Urias of Odessa; 20 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Roy Hickman Roy Hickman, 86, of Amarillo, a former resident of Texhoma, Okla., died Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church at Texhoma with the Rev. Terry Davidson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Texhoma Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home of Texhoma. Mr. Hickman was born in Eldorado, Okla. He moved with his parents to Texhoma in 1910 where he had lived most of his life, graduating from Texhoma High School. He served in the Army for four years during World War II then worked in the Texhoma Post office from 1947 until retiring in 1969. He moved to Amarillo in 1985. He was a member of Texhoma Masonic Lodge 382 and First Baptist Church of Texhoma. He married Virginia Lou Berry in 1947 at Texhoma. She died in 1989. Survivors include a daughter, Janet Hickman of Amarillo; and a granddaughter, Kaeli Michyl Hickman of Amarillo. Oklahoma Beverly Ann Kinsey BALKO, Okla. - Beverly Ann Kinsey, 43, died Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, at Perryton, Texas. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Balko Baptist Church with Rodney Roberson and Marlin Sparks officiating. Burial will be in the Heart Cemetery at Booker, Texas by Clark Funeral Service of Beaver, Okla. Mrs. Kinsey was born in Perryton. She graduated from Balko High School in 1972 and attended one year of college. Survivors include her husband, Steve; a son, Mark Kinsey of the home; her parents, Carl and Wavelyn Cates of Perryton; and a sister, Norma Cornell of Denver. Area John R. Kennedy CLAUDE - John R. Kennedy, 69, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Davenport, of First Baptist Church of Tulia, officiating. Burial will be in the Claude Cemetery by BlackburnShaw Funeral Directors, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street in Amarillo. Mr. Kennedy was born in Taylor County and moved to Claude 33 years ago. He married Peggy Jean Spann in 1946 in Amarillo. She died Nov. 26. He had been a truck driver for Ballard Texaco Wholesale and was a shop foreman for S&S Manufacturing. He was a member of the Claude City Council, served as a volunteer fireman, was a certified EMT and a volunteer for the Claude Ambulance Service. He also was preceded in death by two sons, Terry Mack Kennedy in 1952 and Johnny Lee Kennedy in 1989. A sister, Maxine Hodges, also died on Saturday. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Jordan of Claude; three sisters, Earline Ivy of Seminole, Dorthene Bernstein of Levelland and Jane Burrows of Kingsland; two brothers, Bill Kennedy of Fort Worth and Bob Kennedy of Sunrise Beach; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Rue Aaron Storm SHAMROCK - Rue Aaron Storm, 72, formerly of the Dozier community, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997. Graveside services will be at noon today in the Dozier Cemetery at Dozier with the family officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Storm was born in Dozier and had lived in Ojai, Calif., for the past 21 years, moving from San Diego. She was a homemaker and had taught elementary school at Eugene, Ore. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Ojai, where her husband, Clinton, was the minister. She had been a Bible teacher for many years and was a member of the Associated Women of Pepperdine University. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Carlos Storm of Eastland, Mark Storm of Abilene and Brian Storm of San Diego; a daughter, Annette Gross of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a sister, Joan Staat of Beaverton, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family requests memorials be to Focus on the Family at Colorado Springs, Colo. Margaret Barton HIGGINS - Margaret Barton, 78, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997, at El Paso. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Higgins Cemetery with the Rev. Floyd Thiessen, a retired minister from Follett, officiating. Arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors of Canadian. Mrs. Barton was born in West Virginia. She graduated from Canadian High School. She married Jay Albert Barton in 1942 in Amarillo and they moved to Higgins. While in Higgins, she was a member of First United Methodist Church. She lived in Amarillo and lived there for a few years before moving to El Paso in 1972. She was a homemaker. Her husband died in 1967 and she also was preceded in death by a daughter, Carlene McKeon in 1978. Survivors include a son, J.D. Barton of El Paso; a daughter, Jan Fields of Wynona, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Habell Rosas MULESHOE - Habell Rosas, 38, died Friday, Nov. 28, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Ed Sweeney officiating. Burial will be in Bailey County Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home of Muleshoe. Mr. Rosas was born in Greeley, Colo., and had lived in Muleshoe most of his life. He was a truck driver and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Survivors include his parents, Fermin and Mary Rosas of Muleshoe; four sisters, Sally Toscano of Denver City, Nora Ramos of Plainview, Irene Rosas of Las Cruces, N.M., and Mary An Garcia of Vado, N.M.; and six brothers, Fermin Rosas Jr., Sammy Rosas, Michael Rosas and Carlos Rosas, all of Friona, Paul Rosas of Hereford and David Rosas of Clovis, N.M. Faustino Lopez PLAINVIEW - Faustino "Tino" Lopez, 59, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Elbert A. Fadallan officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Lopez was born in Taylor and moved to Plainview when he was 6 years old. He attended Plainview schools. As a young man, he worked at Lopez Grocery Store, which was operated by his family. In 1956, he began working at the Panhandle Co-op Compress and in 1961, he moved to the Plainview Co-op Compress where he was superintendent. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had served on the Literacy Council through Unger Memorial Library from 1990 to 1993. He married Cecilia Martinez Lopez in 1957 in Plainview. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Dora Martinez of Plainview and Elsa Evans of Tyler; three sons, Rick Lopez and Juan Lopez, both of Plainview and Jose "Joe" Lopez of Lubbock; two brothers, Pete Lopez and Rafael Lopez Jr., both of Plainview; two sisters, Maria Ledesma of Lubbock and Elena Olivarez of Pasadena; his mother, Celia Lopez of Plainview; and seven grandchildren. Billy Joe Williams PLAINVIEW - Billy Joe Williams, 68, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Beard Chapel with the Rev. Homer Pacely, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by WoodDunning Funeral Home. Mr. Williams was born in Teague and moved to Plainview in 1950. He was a member of Beard Chapel CME Church where he was on the Board of Stewards and served as Sunday school superintendent. He was a truck driver. He married Lois Jackson in 1977 at Clovis, N.M. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lillie Ann Reed. Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Brenda Williams and Pam Fennell, both of Plainview and Marilyn Alexander and Gwen Chandler, both of Amarillo, and Brenda Ruffins of Ontario, Calif.; three sons, Billy Williams and Rodney Williams, both of Plainview, and Randy Williams of San Angelo; a sister, Mary Frances Busby of Teague; a brother, Herman Williams of Plainview; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mattie Davis LOCKNEY - Mattie Davis, 83, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Veasey, former pastor of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church of Plainview, officiating. Burial will be in the Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mrs. Davis was born in Floyd County. She attended school in Cedar Hill and Lockney, graduating from West Texas College at Canyon with a degree in education. She taught in the San Jacinto School District, retiring at mid-term in January, 1973 after 39 years. She also taught for four years at Walcott, three years in Red Hill and a year at Cedar Hill Liberty. She was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church at Plainview. She married Guy William Davis in 1939 in Amarillo. He died in 1978. Survivors include three brothers, George Taylor and Junior Taylor, both of Lockney, and Dale Taylor of Hollis, Okla.; and a sister, Agnes Wesley of Lubbock. Mr. Payne was born in Kress and had was a lifelong resident of Swisher County. He was an Army veteran and was a member of the American Legion at Tulia and the Veteran's of Foreign Wars at Plainview. He married Rosanel Speer in 1946 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Elizabeth Bizzell of Olton and Barbara Shipman of Happy; three sons, Larry Payne, Jimmy Payne and Johnny Payne, all of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Bruce Edward Moore STRATFORD - Bruce Edward Moore, 34, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Metzger, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Moore was born in Dumas and had been a Stratford resident most of his life. He graduated from Stratford High School and Texas Tech University as a mechanical engineer. He was employed in Lubbock at Eagle Picher Industries before moving to Jacksonville, Fla., where he was employed at Balderson Industries. He had lived in Manhattan, Kan., for four months. He worked for Balderson Industries at Wamego, Kan., as a product development supervisor. He was an Eagle Scout. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Stratford. Survivors include his wife, Lisa; his parents, Ed and Margie Moore of Stratford; a brother, Roger Moore of Amarillo; and a sister, Beth Potter of Weatherford.
