Tubbs PERRYTON - Delia C. Tubbs, 76, died Friday, June 27, 1997. Graveside services were Monday in Ochiltree Cemetery with the Rev. Rex Nicholl officiating. Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Tubbs was born in Gainesville and had lived in Perryton since 1972. She was a practical nurse and a member of the Catholic church. She married Melvin Tubbs. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Linda Martin of Branson, Mo.; three sisters, Lorene Boyd of Oklahoma City, Naomi Cantrell of Perryton and Averiel Brown of Mathis; and three grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to Ochiltree Home Health Care, 3101 Garrett, Perryton, Texas 79070. Rudy Valenzuela SUDAN - Rudy Valenzuela, 21, died Sunday, June 29, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in Ellis Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Augustine, pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Muleshoe, officiating. Burial will be in Sudan Cemetery. Mr. Valenzuela was born in Amherst. He was a 1994 graduate of Sudan High School and a 1997 graduate of South Plains College, majoring in physical therapy. He was a physical therapist at St. Mary of the Plains Hospital. He also was employed at the Eddie Bauer store in South Plains Mall. Mr. Valenzuela was planning on attending Texas Tech University in the fall. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rosendo Valenzuela of Sudan; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Refujio Cruz of Sudan, and Mr. and Mrs. Raul Valenzuela of Midland. James Clifton Walker Sr. WHEELER - James Clifton "Jim'' Walker Sr., 53, died Saturday, June 28, 1997, in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. James McGhee, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Zybach Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Walker was born in Monterey Park, Calif., and had lived in Wheeler County all of his life. He was a truck driver, a heavy equipment operator and a rancher. He was a member of the National Guard and the Catholic church. He married Wanda Owens in 1988 at Wheeler. Survivors include his wife of Bay City; three sons, James Clifton Walker Jr. of Briscoe, Chad Alton Walker of Wheeler and Cody Reed Walker of Ruidoso, N.M.; a daughter, Jodi Gayle Walker of Wheeler; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George "Bulldog'' Walker of Wheeler; a brother, Bill Walker of Briscoe; a sister, Nancy Davis of Howardwick; and four grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the American Liver Foundation. Kathy Herron BORGER - Kathy Herron, 73, died Sunday, June 29, 1997. Mrs. Herron was born in Cooper. She was a beauty operator for 20 years. She also cooked for Borger ISD for 15 years. She married Hollie Herron in 1949 at Clarendon. Survivors include her husband; a son, Michael Herron of Borger; three brothers, J.C. Henry of Amarillo, Bill Henry of Artesia, N.M., and D.P. Henry of Livingston, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Lloyd D. Crume HEREFORD - Lloyd D. Crume, 75, died Monday, June 30, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Cosby, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by GilillandWatson Funeral Home. Mr. Crume was born in Portales, N.M. He moved from Portales to Deaf Smith County in 1945. He married Frances Gollehon in 1946 at Hereford. Mr. Crume worked in the dry cleaning business. He was a Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school and operated the elevator. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Crume, in 1975. Survivors include his wife; a son, David Crume of Lubbock; a brother, Charles Crume of Carson City, Nev.; three sisters, Laverne Green of Monmouth, Ore., Cornelia King of Amarillo and Claudine Neece of Logan, N.M.; and a grandson. Sonna Murry Endsley SHAMROCK - Sonna Murry Endsley, 54, died Sunday, June 29, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Glenn Davis Memorial Methodist Church at Dozier with the Rev. Lawrence Thompson of Shamrock officiating. Burial will be in Dozier Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Ms. Endsley was born in Shamrock and had lived in the Dozier community most of her life. She graduated from Samnorwood High School and worked as an LVN in Fort Worth. She was a member of the Pentecostal church. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jada Marie. Survivors include her mother, Marie Murry of Dozier; and two brothers, Randall Murry of Dumas and Mac Murry of Amarillo. Logan Keith Cartwright DIMMITT - Logan Keith Cartwright, 19, died Monday, June 30, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Castro Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Mr. Cartwright was born in Plainview and had been a lifetime resident of Dimmitt. He was a sophomore at Dimmitt High School. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Jerry and Dianne Cartwright of Dimmitt; his mother, Patti Cartwright of Dimmitt; three sisters, Angela Cartwright, Elizabeth Cartwright and Cassie Owen, all of Dimmitt; two brothers, Ryan Robertson of Claude and Tayt Owen of Lewisville; and grandparents, Jack Cartwright, and Kenneth and Ruth Jackson, all of Dimmitt. Bill Setzler SHAMROCK - Bill Setzler, 68, died Monday, June 30, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Shamrock Cemetery with the Rev. Joe G. Jernigan of Shamrock officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Setzler was born in Shamrock and had lived in Shamrock all of his life. He worked for a bank in Borger for 15 years and for Farmer's Merchant Bank in Shamrock for eight years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Von Dietrich Setzler of Dallas; and two sisters, Mary Catherine Troxell of Amarillo and Martha Blake of Seguin. Pete Harmon FOLLETT - Frank Charles "Pete'' Harmon, 76, died Monday, June 30, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Follett school auditorium with the Rev. Clay Wells officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery by Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Shattuck, Okla. Mr. Harmon was born in Laverne, Okla. He attended a country school near Slapout, Okla., and later attended Laverne High School, where he graduated in 1943. He married Laverna Schibblhute in 1953 at Shattuck. They lived in several places before settling in Follett. Mr. Harmon worked as a ranch hand for different area ranches. He also was employed at Follett Grain for five years before retiring in 1986. He moved to Twin Oaks Manor in Booker in 1991 and had lived there since. Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenny "Bucky'' Harmon of Pampa; four daughters, Valerie Harmon and Patsy Harmon, both of Follett, Penny Harmon of Friona and Dorise Cowan of Ridgecrest, Calif.; a brother, Perry Harmon of Noble, Okla.; and three grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Twin Oaks Manor in Booker. Forace B. Evans WHEELER - Forace B. Evans, 86, died Monday, June 30, 1997. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church of Wheeler with the Rev. Ronnie Chadwick of First Baptist Church of Davidson, Okla., and the Rev. Rob Lindley of First United Methodist Church of Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Evans was born in the Kelton community of Wheeler County. He had been a lifelong resident of Wheeler County. He married Newasa Lahoma Hays in 1935 at Wheeler. She died in 1970. He also was preceded in death by a son, Forace Dewayne Evans, in 1966. Mr. Evans was an engineer for the Texas Highway Department from 1950 until retiring in 1974. He was a farmer and a member of Allison First Baptist Church. He married Neta Standlee in 1975 at Wheeler. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Betty Jean Arron of Del Rio; a son, Donnie Evans of Groom; three stepdaughters, Betty Zybach of Sayre, Okla., Martha Helton of Wheeler and Inez Erwin of Amarillo; three brothers, Joe Evans of Bell Gardens, Calif., Clint Evans of Pampa and Rondal Evans of Canadian; three sisters, Fannie Mae Bradstreet of Wheeler, Ollie Brock of Amarillo and Estelle Montgomery of Pampa; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgrandson. The family requests memorials be to the American Heart Association. Amarillo Aline Harris Aline Harris, 75, of Amarillo, died Sunday, June 29, 1997. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in San Jacinto United Methodist Church with the Rev. Royce Womack, retired United Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Harris was born in Hale Center and had been a lifelong Amarillo resident. She worked for the Internal Revenue Service and the government before becoming secretary for her future husband's consulting firm. She married Hollis Harris in 1961. He died in 1996. She also was preceded in death by a child. Mrs. Harris was a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church. Survivors include a niece, Linda White. Lt. Col. Fielding A. Thomas Jr. Retired Lt. Col. Fielding A. Thomas Jr., 80, of Amarillo, died Saturday, June 28, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Llano Cemetery with Philip Chandler, chaplain at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Lt. Col. Thomas was born in Coalgate, Okla., and had been a resident of Amarillo since 1968. He graduated from Canyon High School in 1933. He also graduated from West Texas State University, where he played football. He received his master's degree from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill., and taught air science there for four years. He served in the military on reserve and active duty for 35 years. He was a pilot during World War II in the Philippines and Vietnam. Some of his other military assignments sent him to Tripoli, Libya; Germany; Tackawa, Japan; and Montgomery, Ala. He retired in 1968 and moved back to Amarillo. He was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church. Lt. Col. Thomas married Velma Crawford in 1937. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Tanya Maurer of Bellevue, Wash., and Fielda D. Flemming of Cherry Hill, N.J.; a sister, Jeanine Turner of Tulia; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Department of Veterans Affairs Nursing Home. Frank Sanchez DeLeon Frank Sanchez DeLeon, 66, of Amarillo, died Sunday, June 29, 1997. He moved to Amarillo in 1988 from Hereford. He was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include three sons, Frank DeLeon Jr. of Odessa, and Edward DeLeon and Gilbert DeLeon, both of Amarillo; three daughters, Dora Monroy of California, Rosa Salazar of Odessa and Angie Gonzales of Amarillo; four brothers, Juan DeLeon of Albuquerque, N.M., Jose DeLeon and Jesse DeLeon, both of Amarillo, and Henry DeLeon of Sweetwater; three sisters, Angelita Vasquez and Maria Ramirez, both of Amarillo, and Trini Longoria of Sweetwater; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Henry, in 1993; an infant son, Darryl, in 1946; and a daughter, W. Francita, in 1991. Survivors include two sons, James William Henry of Denver and Neil Henry of Amarillo; a daughter, Mary Lee Gage of Elk City, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgranddaughter. She married John Peterson Burge in 1923 at Gary, Okla. He died in 1992. She was a homemaker. Survivors include a son, Leon Burge of Amarillo; a sister of Savery, Kan.; and two grandchildren.
