Survivors include his parents; grandparents, Johnny and Maria Guerrero, Mary and Joe Marquez, and Randy and Sandy Thaxton, all of Dalhart; and greatgrandparents Ernestine and Justino Cruz of Immokalee, Fla., Polly Guerrero of Hereford, Ignacio Castillo of Del Rio and Imelda Castillo of Dalhart. Mary Frances Wiley MIAMI, Texas - Mary Frances Wiley, 39, of Brighton, Colo., a former Miami resident, died Tuesday, April 29, 1997. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Wheeler Cemetery at Wheeler with the Rev. Billy Wilson, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Wheeler, and the Rev. Daniel Moore, pastor of United Methodist Church of Miami, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Ms. Wiley was born in Fort Worth and raised in Miami. She attended high school at Keensburg, Colo., for two years before returning to Miami and graduating from Miami High School in 1976. She had been a longtime resident of Brighton. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Miami. Survivors include her parents, Bill and Barbara Wiley of Miami; and a brother, Rick Wiley of Amarillo. The family requests memorials be to United Methodist Church of Miami or a favorite charity. Lula Belle Halliburton DALHART - Lula Belle Halliburton, 84, died Tuesday, April 29, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Lakeview United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Edwards, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home Inc. Mrs. Halliburton was born in Union County, N.M., and had been a lifelong resident of Dalhart until recently moving to Denver to be near her daughter. She was a nurse and a homemaker. She was a member of Lakeview United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.A. "Hal'' Halliburton. Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Nelson of Arvada, Colo.; two sons, William Jernigan of Albuquerque, N.M., and Robert Jernigan of Arkansas; her mother, Gladys Culbertson of Dalhart; two brothers, Jack Culbertson and Milton E. Culbertson, both of Dalhart; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Judy Moore DUMAS - Judy Moore, 19, died Tuesday, April 29, 1997. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Edwards, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Ms. Moore was born in Amarillo and had been a lifetime Dumas resident. She was a 1996 graduate of Dumas High School. She was active in all aspects of 4H. She also was active in school sports. She worked in the drafting department for pipeline engineering for Diamond Shamrock in Amarillo. She was enrolled at Amarillo College for the fall semester that will begin in September. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her parents, Jerry and Sheryl Moore of Dumas; a sister, Michelle Stewart of Dumas; a twin sister, Pamela Kay Moore of Amarillo; grandmothers, Opal McLoed of Yuciapa, Calif., and Myrtle Frownfelter of Richfield, Kan.; and a great-grandmother, Sara Bandy of Amarillo. Valta Earl Tarbet SHAMROCK - Valta Earl Tarbet, 89, died Tuesday, April 29, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Church of Christ with Sid Smith, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Tarbet was born in Rule. He moved to Shamrock by covered wagon in 1916. He attended Shamrock High School and graduated with the class of 1928. He married Eunice Grogan in 1929 at Sayre, Okla. She died in 1982. He farmed, mowed the highway rightof-way and helped his family operate a dairy. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Shamrock as well as being a deacon for five years and an elder for 25 years. Mr. Tarbet was recognized as Citizen of the Year in 1988 by the Shamrock Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include a daughter, Frances Sonka of Kemp; five sons, Earl Tarbet of Pampa, Cottie Tarbet of Shamrock, Eddie Tarbet of Colleyville, Gaston Tarbet of Kampalla, Africa, and Clell Tarbet of Mesquite; 22 grandchildren; and 34 greatgrandchildren. The family requests memorials be to First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Rumalda Alcantar QUANAH - Rumalda Alcantar, 64, died Tuesday, April 29, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday in Price-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church by the Rev. Oren Key of Vernon. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park. Mrs. Alcantar was born in Alamo. She married Carmen Alcantar Jr. in 1959 at Victoria. They moved to Quanah in 1960. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Carmen Alcantar III, in 1993. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Miroslava Chano of Quanah, Maria Aleman of Vernon and Anita Felty of Belgium; a son, Jose Luis Alcantar of Quanah; five sisters, Margie Hernandez of Edna, Connie Perez of San Juan, Sixta Morin and Juana Gaona, both of Palm Springs, Calif., and Alvina Rodriquez of Dallas; seven brothers, Juan Lopez of Edna, and Poncho Lopez, Larry Lopez, Thino Lopez, Domingo Lopez, Freddy Lopez and Ernie Lopez, all of California; and 11 grandchildren. Olga Silva Gallegos DUMAS - Olga Silva Gallegos, 42, died Tuesday, April 29, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Dumas Christian Center with Randy Voight, pastor, and Tammy Voight of the center officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Gallegos was born in Dumas and had been a lifetime Dumas resident. She was a homemaker and a member of Dumas Christian Center. She married Martin Gallegos Jr. in 1989 at Dumas. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Gabrial Barraza and Martin Lee Gallegos III, both of the home; two daughters, Lisa Barraza and Raquel Barraza, both of the home; her mother, Elida Moreno of Dumas; and three sisters, Imelda Maldano, Elida Gutierrez and Elvira Arenivar, all of Dumas. The family will be at 405 Bruce. Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Dumas Christian Center. James Jay Danford PAMPA - James Jay "Jim" Danford, 75, died Wednesday, April 30, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Jim Hodson, associate pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Danford was born in Strong City, Kan. He grew up on a farm in Chase County. He married Helen Elizabeth Lemay in 1945 at Cottonwood Falls, Kan. She died in 1986. He was a Pampa area resident from 1955 to 1979, when he moved back to Strong City. He lived there until 1982, when he returned to the Pampa area. He was a cowboy and a farmhand, having worked for the Crofoot Cattle Co. in Kansas, and Price Ranches, Waters Ranch, OK Ranch and Ingrum Farm and Ranch, all in the Pampa area. Survivors include a daughter, Yvonne Ingrum of Pampa; a son, Robert Danford of Sunray; six sisters, Margie Burton of Wichita, Kan., Isabell Wheat, Velma Thompson, Helen Payton and Rae Jeanette Byrd, all of Emporia, Kan., and Eilene Bender of Council Grove, Kan.; a brother, Eddie Danford of Strong City; seven grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren. Burial will be in the Garden of Serenity at Westlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Harrell was born in Quinton, Okla. She had been a Borger resident since 1951, moving from Indio, Calif. She was a homemaker. She married A.B. Harrell in 1943 at Stigler, Okla. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Barbara Ann Harris and Glenda Milner, both of Borger; two sisters, Milree Durham of San Bernardino, Calif., and Fleta Gates of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. T.E. Fletcher TULIA - T.E. "Eph'' Fletcher, 81, died Wednesday, April 30, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Bruce Parks, pastor of United Methodist Church in Anton, and the Rev. Jesse Hodge, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Tulia, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Fletcher was born in Eliasville. He moved to Tulia in 1929 from Lubbock. He attended school at Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School. He worked for Dalby Freight Line before entering the Army. He served during World War II from 1940 to 1945. He returned to Tulia and began working for Swisher Electric Co-op in 1946. He began working as a lineman and then worked up to administrative assistant. He retired in 1980. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a longtime member of the Tulia Kiwanis Club, where he also served as club secretary for a number of years. He married Irene Stephens in 1964 at Tulia. She died in 1996. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Pat Hooten of Hillsboro; a stepson, Harry Burton-Lewis II of Lubbock; a sister, Betty Jo Brown of Amarillo; two brothers, Walter Earl Fletcher of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Charles Fletcher of Amarillo; six stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Tulia Cemetery Association. Amarillo William L. Krabbe William "Billie'' L. Krabbe, 70, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 30, 1997. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Memory Gardens Mausoleum with the Rev. Marty Hamrick of Polk Street United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Krabbe was born in Amarillo and had been a lifelong Amarillo resident. He married Frances Martin in 1949 at Canyon. He was a farmer and a member of the ASC Farmer's Committee. He was a founding member of the Canadian River Water Authority and a past member of Highland Park School Board. He also was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sandy Stouffer of Denver, Pa., and Marsha Guy of Houston; a sister, Betty Krabbe of San Angelo; and a granddaughter. The family suggests memorials be to the Opportunity School of Amarillo, 1100 S. Harrison St., Amarillo, Texas 79101. Ruby I. Cook Ruby I. Cook, 86, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 30, 1997. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. today in Paramount Baptist Church with the Rev. F.M. Byford officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in San Antonio's Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens by Alamo Funeral Home. Local arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors. Survivors include a son, Gerald Cook of Amarillo; a sister, Juanita Fletcher of Apple Valley, Calif.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Canyon Tommie Rushing Pierce Tommie Rushing Pierce, 87, of Canyon, died Sunday, April 27, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church of Canyon with the Rev. Richard Bales, pastor, and the Rev. Newton Starnes officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mrs. Pierce was born in Floydada. She moved to Canyon when she was 17 to attend school. She married Felix A. Pierce in 1928. He died in 1989. She owned and operated Cinderella Beauty Shop for 54 years. She then became an active volunteer. During World War II, Mrs. Pierce drove an ambulance at Amarillo Air Base and worked for a year at the Bumerton Naval Station, where her husband was stationed. She was in the top 10 volunteers at High Plains Hospital Auxiliary in 1979 and was a member of the Canyon RSVP, First United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and Veterans of Foreign Wars Lucius Penick Post No. 568. She also was on the board of directors for Dreamland Cemetery. Mrs. Pierce had received honorable mention in the National Fine Arts competition for a painting. Survivors include a daughter, Alice Kenmore of Payson, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. E.M. Myers of Canyon; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. New Mexico Gonzalo Archuleta CLAYTON, N.M. - Gonzalo Archuleta, 85, died Tuesday, April 29, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church by Louis Montoya. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at Des Moines, N.M., by the Rev. Joseph Kuehner, pastor. Burial will be in Folsom Cemetery at Folsom by Hass Funeral Directors. Mr. Archuleta was born in Folsom. He lived in the Des Moines area until the late 1940s, when he moved to Rock Springs, Wyo. He lived there until returning to the Des Moines area in 1981. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Des Moines. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Tony. Survivors include a brother, Antonio Archuleta of Clayton; and two sisters, Senaida Martinez of Clayton and Sara Salaz of San Pablo, Colo.
