Kenmore Faye "Mamma Faye'' A. Kenmore, 94, of Amarillo, died Monday, Sept. 29, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church at Dimmitt with Dr. George Ray officiating. Burial will be in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Dimmitt by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Kenmore was born in Gould, Okla. She graduated from Hollis, Okla., High School and received her teaching certificate from Weatherford College at Weatherford, Okla. She married Ferron Harvel Kenmore in 1921. He died in 1940. Mrs. Kenmore taught school at Prairie Hill and Louis Hill, Okla. She and her husband owned and operated a grocery store in Oklahoma before moving to Dimmitt in 1933. They also farmed, ran a machine shop and a Gulf Oil Service Station and were dealers for Diamond T. trucks, Dodge-Plymouth cars and Allis-Chalmers tractors. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Kenmore owned and operated a kindergarten, was a Peggy Newton cosmetics representative, an employee of M-System Grocery and an Avon representative. After serving 20 years as a teller at First State Bank of Dimmitt, she retired in 1968. During her retirement, she was a representative for Fuller Brush products. She moved to Amarillo into the Northwest Retirement Village in 1981 and into the Canyons Retirement Community in 1992. Mrs. Kenmore served many years as a Pink Lady volunteer at Plains Memorial Hospital in Dimmitt and High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo. She was active in business and professional women's organizations and the Elephant Birthday Club of Dimmitt for many years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Dimmitt for 48 years. She joined Coulter Road Baptist Church after moving to Amarillo. She also was preceded in death by two infant sons and an infant daughter. Survivors include two sons, Herschel Kenmore of Brooks, Alberta, Canada, and Hoyt Kenmore of Payson, Ariz.; a daughter, Monnette Ray of Rochester, Minn.; a sister, Bernice Hunter of Eldorado, Okla.; special friend, Bernice Morris of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to Castro Memorial Gardens c/o Jerry Lilly, Foskey Funeral Home, Dimmitt, Texas 79027; or a favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Dimmitt. Martha Parker Martha Parker, 84, of Amarillo, died Monday, Sept. 29, 1997. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First Baptist Church at Hedley with Bruce Howard of the church officiating. Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery at Hedley by Schooler Funeral Home Inc., 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Parker was born in Sallisaw, Okla., and was raised in Amarillo. She lived away from Amarillo for several years before returning 22 years ago. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She married James Marion Parker in 1931 in Oklahoma. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Ann Hill; and a son, Douglas Marion Parker. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Hazel Fay Harper of Canyon, and Donna Sue Clark and Bonnie Gail Francis, both of Amarillo; four sons, Virgil Ray Sullivan of Moody, Utah, Carrol Parker of Las Vegas, J.D. Parker of Dimmitt and Edwin Allen Parker of Sheridan, Wyo.; 29 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Marian M. Pooler Marian M. Pooler, 95, of Amarillo, formerly of Clovis, N.M., died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road, with the Rev. Jerry Stein of Holy Family Catholic Church of Nazareth officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Clovis. Mrs. Pooler was born in Austin. She moved to Amarillo from Clovis in 1992. She attended schools in San Antonio. She worked at Douglas Aircraft during World War II. She also worked for Hughes Semi-Conductor as a salesperson. She was a Gold Star Mother during the Korean War. She also was a member of the Clovis Senior Citizens and Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Clovis. She married Louis G. Pooler in 1950 at Long Beach, Calif. He died in 1978. Survivors include three daughters, Alice M. Abee, Jeanette Pooler and Dorothy Stamper, all of Amarillo; five grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. The family will be at 410 E. Bonita St. Thelma Mae Robertson Thelma Mae Saunders Robertson, 75, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Coulter Road Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Payne officiating. Burial will be in Memphis, Texas. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Robertson was born in Memphis and graduated from Memphis High School in 1939. She attended West Texas State University and received a bachelor's degree in education. She also received library certification. She had lived in Amarillo for 50 years. She was a homemaker and a school teacher. She was a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church and the A.E. Shirley Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She also was a member of the Daughters of the Nile and UCT. Survivors include her husband, Earl Robertson; a son, Earl W. Robertson of St. Charles, Mo.; a daughter, Tanja Chenault of Houston; and three grandchildren. New Mexico Marie Rogers TEXICO, N.M. - Marie Rogers, 69, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Texico Cemetery. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis. Mrs. Rogers was born in Bristow, Okla. She moved to Texico 18 years ago from Reno, Nev. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Bond of Sun Valley, Nev.; two sons, Kenneth Eugene Rogers of Lake Tahoe, Calif., and Dennis Ray Rogers of Reno; two sisters, Ruth and Gladys; two brothers, Glen and Tom; companion, Kenneth Doolittle of Texico; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Canyon Helen Elizabeth Pemberton Helen Elizabeth Pemberton, 72, of Canyon, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in University Church of Christ with David Lough officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd., in Amarillo. Mrs. Pemberton was born in Plainview. She married Jack Pemberton in 1939 at Plainview. She was a seamstress for 60 years. She was a member of Queen of the Plains Rebekah Lodge No. 276 in Amarillo and University Church of Christ in Canyon. She moved from Lubbock to Canyon in 1983. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Jackie Clark of Canyon; a sister, Vernadean Rust of Kingston, Okla.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Elsewhere Robert Lee Terrell HIGHLAND, Calif. - Robert Lee Terrell, 67, died Monday, Oct. 1, 1997. Memorial services will be at noon Saturday in Bobbitt Memorial Chapel in San Bernardino. Private burial will be in Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside. Mr. Terrell was born in Memphis, Tenn. He had been a resident of Highland for three years. He retired from GTE after 13 years of service as the central office maintainer. He was an Air Force veteran and a Protestant. Survivors include his wife, Estella Terrell; four sons, Larry Garibay of Alta Loma, and Bob Stavenhagen, Steven Stavenhagen and Rick Stavenhagen, all of Amarillo; two daughters, Mary Anderson of Highland and Lynda Fincher of Amarillo; 15 grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Oklahoma Jerry Lafon Hale BEAVER, Okla. - Jerry Lafon Hale, 61, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Beaver First Christian Church with Perry Dale Cash and Roger Neff officiating. Burial will be in Beaver Cemetery by Clark Funeral Service. Mr. Hale was born in Arkansas City, Kan. He graduated from school in Nevada, Mo. He married Olene Peery in 1954 at Nevada. Mr. Hale worked for the Department of Transportation for the state of Oklahoma. He was a member of First Christian Church and the Pioneer Golf Course. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jerry Hale Jr. of Hinton, James Hale of Edmond and Joe Hale of Independence, Mo.; two daughters, Judy Rogers of Rogers, Ark., and Janna McKedy of Cabot, Ark.; his father, Lowell Benton Hale of Enid; and 11 grandchildren. Area Granvel Morris Webb LOCKNEY - Granvel Morris Webb, 80, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Aiken First Baptist Church with the Rev. Aubrey Chapman, former pastor, and the Rev. Henry Martin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery at Plainview by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mr. Webb was born in Farmersville and attended school in Pike. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married Vurla Jo Sharp in 1946 at Celeste. They moved to Lockney in 1951 from Aiken. Mr. Webb previously worked for ACCO Seed as a processing plant supervisor. He was a member of the Lockney Senior Citizens and Aiken First Baptist Church and had served as building fund treasurer. Survivors include his wife; a son, Randy Webb of Plainview; three daughters, Lynda Holley of Lockney, Rubie Wardlow of Seymour and Arlene Anderson of Littlefield; a brother, Weldon Webb of Davis, Okla.; three sisters, Nora Thomason of Ardmore, Okla., Francis Mosley of Garden Grove, Calif., and Bernice Kent of Lockney; and five grandchildren. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Isabel Gonzales HEREFORD - Isabel Gonzales, 72, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Monsignor Orville Blum of the church officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mrs. Gonzales was born in Clovis, N.M. She married Delfino Gonzales in 1946 at Clovis. She moved to Deaf Smith County in 1946 from Clovis. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, St. Anthony's Prayer Group and Christian Mothers. She worked at Fred Harvey's Restaurant in Clovis and also at Baker's Grocery in Hereford for many years. Survivors include her husband; a son, Richard Gonzales of Uvalde; three sisters, Edna Le Claire of Hereford, and Delores Arnejo and Juanita Ortega, both of Clovis; a brother, Joseph Ortega of Dimmitt; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Ralph A. Smith FRIONA - Ralph A. Smith, 81, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997, in Lubbock. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Waide Messer, pastor, and the Rev. Clayton Day of Tyler officiating. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home. Mr. Smith was born in Rocky, Okla. He had lived in Parmer County since 1934, moving from Rocky. He was a retired farmer. He married Faye Lame in 1939 at Amarillo. Mr. Smith was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church. He was a past member of the Friona Evening Lions Club and had served as secretary and treasurer. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Judy Ponthieu and Esther Stout, both of Lubbock, Janet Barnett of Nashville, Tenn., and Mary Ranner of Bixby, Okla.; a sister, Nola Faye Vestal of Friona; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Friona Library or Hospice of Lubbock. Rudy R. Medrano FLOYDADA - Rudy R. Medrano, 37, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997. Burial will be in Floyd County Memorial Park. Mr. Medrano was born in Pecos. He graduated from Floydada High School in 1979 and attended St. Edwards University in Austin. He was an employment interviewer for the Texas Employment Commission in Floydada. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Margaret Ann Adams BORGER - Margaret Ann Adams, 68, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997, in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Church of Christ with Richard Kasko, minister, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Devotion at Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Adams was born in Texola, Okla., and had been a Borger resident since 1947. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She married Ewell Adams in 1972 at Borger. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carrol Ann Shaver, in 1983. Survivors include her husband; a son, Dale Lowe of Amarillo; a daughter, Gail Tate of Littleton, Colo.; six granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church in Clarendon with Dr. James Bell, pastor, officiating. Masonic graveside services will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors Inc. of Clarendon. Mr. Whitehead was born in Erick, Okla. He was a longtime resident of Amarillo before moving to Howardwick in 1977. He married Lela Belle Moore in 1961 at Tucumcari, N.M. Mr. Whitehead was employed in offshore drilling most of his life before retiring in 1989. He was a member of Clarendon Masonic Lodge No. 700, the Scottish Rite and Clarendon Chapter No. 6 of the Order of the Eastern Star. He also was a longtime member of the Donley County Hospital District Board of Directors and the Associated Ambulance Authority Board. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Clarendon. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Judy Burns of Lincoln, R.I., and Donna Kelly of Norfolk, Va.; a sister, Marie; and four grandchildren. Epifanio Jose Jaramillo LELIA LAKE - Epifanio Jose Jaramillo, 89, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clarendon with the Rev. Jose Gomez, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon by Robertson Funeral Directors Inc. of Clarendon. Mr. Jaramillo was born in Los Alamos, N.M. He moved from Lourdes, N.M., to Lelia Lake in 1959. He was a farmer and a cotton ginner much of his life before retiring. He married Guadalupe Quintana in 1937 at La Liendee, N.M. She died in 1978. Mr. Jaramillo was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clarendon. Survivors include five daughters, Faye Sanchez, Gloria Jaramillo and Mary Jaramillo, all of Lelia Lake, Angie Lucero of Clarendon and Teresa David of Pampa; six sons, Elias Jaramillo and George Jaramillo, both of Lelia Lake, Charlie Jaramillo, Joe E. Jaramillo and Robert Jaramillo, all of Hedley, and Tony Jaramillo of Washington, D.C.; a brother, Tom Jaramillo of Amarillo; 34 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Joe S. Green PADUCAH - Joe S. Green, 83, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Garden of Memories Cemetery with the Rev. Keith Prather, pastor of Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home. Mr. Green was born in Quanah. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He made his home in Washington for about 30 years before returning to Paducah in 1978. He married Viola Bowden in 1946 at Childress. Mr. Green retired as a laundry and dry cleaning operator. He was a member of Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; and two sisters, Bonnie Ward of Fort Worth and Lillian Brownfield of Paducah. Bessie Ellen Yeary Sauls GRAY MULE - Bessie Ellen Yeary Sauls, 89, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997, in Lockney. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Gray Mule Cemetery with the Rev. Harvey M. Pruitt of Lubbock officiating. Arrangements are by Myers-Long Funeral Directors of Quitaque. Mrs. Sauls was born in the Cedar Hill community. She attended Liberty School in Cedar Hill and later attended beauty school in Plainview. She married W.F. "Bill'' Sauls in 1935 at Spur. He died in 1993. Mrs. Sauls was a beauty operator and a longtime rancher in the Gray Mule community. She was a member of the Quitaque Methodist Church and a longtime member and a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
