Mr. Poole was born in Chandler, Okla. He lived in Hardeman County most of his life, moving from Oklahoma as a child. Mr. Poole married Frances Scott in 1946 at Quanah. He was a farmer who had retired from Georgia Pacific. He was a member of First Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife; a son, Harry Poole of Goodlett; two daughters, Rita Woodside of Grand Prairie and Kaye Burton of Irving; a brother, Joe Poole of Goodlett; three sisters, Betty Griffin of Wichita Falls, Elma Boren of Amarillo and Jane Parton of Anadarko, Okla; and three grandchildren. Mildred Rogers MEMPHIS - Mildred M. Rogers, 76, died Thursday, July 31, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, with the Rev. Austin Ridley officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Spicer Funeral Home. Mrs. Rogers was born in Clarksville and moved to Memphis in 1924. She married Othe Rogers in 1945 at Memphis. He died in 1972. She was active in the Order of the Eastern Star and did volunteer work with Meals on Wheels. She was a Baptist. Survivors include five sons, Garfield Williams, Harry Rogers and Loral Rogers, all of Memphis, L.D. Rogers of Altus, Okla., and William Rogers of Dallas; three daughters, Georgia Dickson and Opal Means, both of Memphis, and Debbie Louis of San Angelo; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Tom Greer MORTON - Tom Greer, 86, of Morton, died Friday, Aug. 1, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mr. Greer was born in Ralston and moved to Morton in 1946 from Sundown. He graduated from Loco High School. He was a member of the Morton Masonic Lodge and was a farmer. Mrs. Jennings was born in Barstow and had lived in Muleshoe since 1993, after moving from Hereford. She was a member of a Presbyterian Church in Long Beach, Calif., and was a homemaker. She married Joe Jennings in 1949 at Carlsbad, N.M. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Dale Craig Jennings and Gary V. Jennings, both of Sacramento, Calif.; and three grandchildren. Katherine "Dixie'' Becton IDALOU - Katherine "Dixie'' Becton, 86, died Friday, Aug. 1, 1997. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Idalou United Methodist Church. The Rev. Darren L. Skinner will officiate, with assistance from church elder George Johnson. Arrangements are by White Funeral Home. Mrs. Becton was born in McKinney and moved to Estacado in 1917. She married A. Mack Becton Jr. in 1927 at Old Emma. He died in 1971. The couple were city managers of Petersburg for several years when they lived there. She was a member of Idalou United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, A. James Becton, of Idalou; two daughters, Maxine Spencer of Littlefield, and Cleta Bell Shults of Clarendon; a brother, J.A. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Panhandle Church of Christ with Leonard Harpes of Crosbyton Church and Ernie Bishop of Panhandle Church of Christ officiating. Mrs. Bell was born in Fresno, Calif., and had been a resident of Panhandle for 44 years, moving from Amarillo. She married Alfred Bell in 1972 at Dallas. She became a member of the Sunset Church of Christ as a small child and later joined Central Church of Christ in Amarillo and Panhandle Church of Christ in 1952. She also was a member of the Square House Museum Board, Fine Arts Club and Panhandle PTA. Survivors include her husband; two sons, John Alfred Bell and Grover Woody Bell, both of Amarillo; two daughters, Carolyn Sue Hermsmeyer and Peggy Louise Crow, both of Panhandle; a sister, Margaret Goode of St. Joseph, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Robert Barnard officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Little was born in Okmulgee, Okla., and had lived in the Stinnett area for 54 years. She had worked as a cafeteria manager in the Dumas school system. Mrs. Little was a member of First Assembly of God Church and the Order of the Eastern Star No. 811. Her husband, Everett A. Little, died in 1977. She also was preceded in death by a son, Dale Little, in 1987. Survivors include a son, Charles Little of Spearman; a daughter, Barbara Eads of Dumas; a brother, John Chronister of Pampa; a sister, Thelma Smith of Hays, Kan.; six grandchildren; and 12 greatgrandchildren. Sandra Stagner HEREFORD - Sandra "Sandy'' Stagner, 47, died Friday, Aug. 1, 1997. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Hereford with Doug Manning and the Rev. Terry Cosby officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Parkside Chapel of Hereford. Mrs. Stagner was born in Waco. She retired from the Hereford Brand newspaper after 20 years as the lifestyles editor. She married John Stagner in 1987 at Hereford. Survivors include her husband; her parents, E.W. and Lurline Cawthon of Hereford; a son, Tim Stagner of Hereford; a daughter, Candace Stagner of Hereford; a brother, Randy Cawthon of Amarillo; and a sister, Lanett Dudding of Amarillo. The family requests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Ted Trulove MEMPHIS - Ted Trulove, 80, died Friday, Aug. 1, 1997. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with retired minister Tom Posey and Tom Anderson, minister of Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington. Mr. Trulove was born in Amarillo. He married Vernell E. Callahan in 1935 at Hollis, Okla. She died in 1956. He later married Mary Smith in 1958 at Amarillo. Mr. Trulove was a leather craftsman and a boot maker for more than 60 years. He owned City Boot and Shoe Shop in Lubbock for 20 years. He then moved to Amarillo, where he was the instructor and program chairman in the boot and shoe operations program at Texas State Technical Institute. He retired from TSTI in 1982, but he continued to serve on the college advisory board until 1986. He moved to Memphis in 1984 and ran a part-time shoe repair shop until 1992. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jim Trulove of Houston; four daughters, Sherry Cromartie and Teddy Allen, both of Memphis, Bette Underwood of Memphis, Tenn., and Peggy Schooler of Arlington; a sister, Mary Joe Lowe of Denver; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing from until service time in the chapel of First Baptist Church. Amarillo Sarah R. Allen Sarah R. Allen, 75, of 4201 Rhine St., died Thursday, July 31, 1997. A prayer vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Rector Funeral Home Chapel, and Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's church with the Rev. Ken Keller officiating. Osage St. Mrs. Allen was born in Yell County, Arkansas, but she attended elementary and high school in Roaring Springs. She married Oland Dale "Boots'' Allen in 1941 at Plainview, and they moved to Amarillo in 1944. The couple owned and operated Allen Welding and Machine until 1979. She was a former member of Sacred Heart Cathedral and a member of St. Mary's Church. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Theresa Allen Oombes, of Amarillo; three sons, Michael Dale Allen and Gregory Martin Allen, both of Amarillo, and George Wesley Allen of Fort Worth; two sisters, Theresa Irene Harp of Amarillo and Lois Pacello of Dardanelle, Ark.; two brothers, Charles Patrick Alvey and Michael Wayne Alvey, both of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Services were Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with the Bishop John Hunt officiating. Additional services will be held in Texarkana. Arrangements were by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Copeland was born in Corley and had lived in Amarillo the past 16 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Newt Copeland, in 1966. She was a housewife and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survivors include a son, Joe Edward Copeland of Maud; a daughter, Gloria Dean Dodd of Texarkana; a sister, Elba Adams of Amarillo; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kenneth Ray Branum Sr. Kenneth Ray Branum Sr., 53, of Amarillo, died Thursday, July 31, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, with the Rev. W. Mr. Branum was born in Pampa and had lived in Amarillo since 1970. He graduated from Panhandle High School and attended West Texas State University. He was a truck driver for Big E Industries. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Parrish was born in Webb City, Okla., and lived most of her life in Amarillo. She married Kenneth Parrish in 1981. Mrs. Parrish was a member of Paramount Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter. Survivors include her husband; two sons, David Mathis and Philip Floyd, both of Amarillo; her father, James Row of Borger; a brother, Jack Row of Amarillo; and four grandchildren. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Amy Williamson of Canyon; a son, David Williamson of Amarillo; a brother, Gene Williamson, of Murkle; and his parents, Julian and Lela Mae Williamson of Bullard. Mr. Preston was a lifetime resident of Clovis. He retired from the Santa Fe Railroad in 1985, having worked 35 years. He attended Kingswood Methodist Church and belonged to the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He married Margery Lockmiller in 1950 at Clovis, N.M. . Survivors include his wife; a son, Randy Preston; a brother, Edgar Preston of Roswell, N.M.; and two grandchildren. Oklahoma L. Gordon Fowler HOOKER, Okla. - L. Gordon Fowler, 92, died Thursday, July 31, 1997. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Cook, pastor, and the Rev. Tom R. Lee of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Fowler was born in Henderson County and moved with his family to the Oklahoma Panhandle in 1905. His father had been a homestead farmer southeast of Guymon. He graduated from Guymon School and attended Northwest Missouri State Teachers College in Maryville, Mo., on a football scholarship. He married Esther Monk in Maryville. She died in 1963. Mr. Fowler married Lorna Crockett Hammond in 1965. She died in 1996. Mr. Fowler worked for the Oklahoma State Highway Department. He also was a farmer and co-owner of the Panhandle Hatchery in Hooker. He was a member of United Methodist Church and had served on its board of directors. Mr. Fowler was a charter member of the Masonic Lodge in Guymon and a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He was a member of Eastern Star and a charter member of the Hooker Lions Club. Mr. Fowler served on the board of directors of the Hooker Equity Co-Op and on the Hooker City Council. He was appointed interim county commissioner by Gov. George Nigh. Survivors include his son, Robert H. Fowler of Hooker; a daughter, Mary Louise Skillings of Columbia, Md.; a stepson, Glen M. Fowler of Ruidoso, N.M.; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Edith Ford Cemetery at Canadian, Texas, with the Rev. Rick Timmons officiating. Arrangements are by Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Shattuck. Mr. Beck was born in Borger, Texas, and grew up in Canadian, Texas. He later moved to Woodward. He worked in oil fields as a roughneck and welder. He had recently moved back to Shattuck. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Survivors include his father, Emmitt Beck of Woodward; his mother, Margaret Phillips of Shattuck; two brothers, Walter Beck of Rifle, Colo., and John Thompson of Jacksonville, N.C.; and four sisters, Earline Wall of Spring, Texas, Oleta Poole of Turkey Creek, La., Sylvia Price of Canadian, Texas, and Kathy Jones of Shattuck.
