Interstate 40, with Dan Powers, pastor of Northside Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Cole was born in Achille, Okla. He retired from Southwestern Public Service after working there for 30 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 763 at Wellington and Northside Assembly of God. Survivors include his wife, Edith L. Cole; a son, Bobby L. Cole of Argyle; a daughter, Donnie Terry of Houston; two brothers, Herman Cole of Plainview and Jesse Cole Jr. of Lubbock; three sisters, Ruby Waitzam of Glendale, Ariz., Ann Grant of Hemet, Calif., and Lucrecia Hanna of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Merlin Francis Geroux Merlin Francis Geroux, 76, of Amarillo, died Sunday, June, 1, 1997. Mr. Geroux was born in Bergland, Mich., and had lived in Amarillo since 1968. He served with the Marine Corps in the Pacific and participated in the assault and capture of Roy Namur, Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima. He was accepted to Officers Candidate School at the end of the war. Mr. Geroux worked for Santa Fe Railway for 35 years before retiring in 1983 as a claims agent. He was a Baptist. Survivors include a son, Gary Geroux of Amarillo; and a daughter, Michelle Moore of Flagstaff, Ariz. The family suggests memorials be to the Salvation Army, 400 S. Harrison St., Amarillo, Texas 79101. The body will not be available for viewing. Pauline Y. Elliott Pauline Y. Elliott, 85, of Amarillo, died Sunday, June 1, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Southlawn Assembly of God with the Revs. Jerald and Janice Middaugh, pastors, officiating. She worked at Pantex during the war and then retired from Santa Fe Railway as a clerk. She was a past member of Woodmen of the World Lodge and a member of Southlawn Assembly of God. She married Allen Chandler in 1932 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1952. She married O.E. Elliott in 1956 at Clovis. He died in 1959. Survivors include a son, Jerry R. Box 950, Amarillo, Texas 79176-0001. Edgar Wray Love Edgar Wray Love, 74, of Amarillo, died Saturday, May 31, 1997. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Dan Usiak officiating. Mr. Love was born and raised in Oklahoma. He met his wife, Fern, in 1942 while attending Panhandle A&M at Goodwell, Okla. They married in 1943. After World War II he graduated from the University of Kansas, where he was a member of the Delta Chi fraternity. He enlisted in the Marines in 1942 and was stationed in Guam and China. Following the war he remained in the Reserves and was recalled to duty. He was stationed aboard the USS Electra during the Korean War. Mr. Love remained in the Reserves and retired in 1966 as a lieutenant colonel after commanding the Marine Reserve anti-tank unit in Amarillo. In 1979, he was honored by the officers and men of that unit. In 1949, he began working for Southwestern Public Service at Roswell, N.M., and was later located in Lubbock before moving to Amarillo in 1955. After 34 years, he retired as safety and training manager. Mr. Love was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Masonic Lodge 18 of Roswell, a charter member of the Scottish Rite Consistory at Lubbock and a member of the Greeters Unit of the Khiva Shrine Temple in Amarillo. He also was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, the American Society of Safety Engineers and the Reserve Officers Association. Survivors include his wife; a sister, Sue St. Clair of Vista, Calif.; two sons, Bruce Love of Richmond, Calif., and Earl Love of Salado; and four grandchildren. She was a member of Southeast Baptist Church and had been a Sunday school teacher there. She was a student at WTAMU. She married Paul Dillavou in 1953. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Paula Steele of Amarillo; a sister, Janie Kennedy of Odessa; and two brothers, David Elliott of Levelland and Garland Bethel of Amarillo. Arrangements are by Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home. Mr. Bauer was born in Richardson County, Neb. He was raised near Happy, Texas, where he attended Bauer Grade School. He was a farmer and a chicken rancher for many years. He farmed for many years near Swisher, Texas, and was a chicken rancher near Bentonville, Ark., from 1957 to 1977. He retired in 1976 and had been a resident of Manhattan since 1979. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Texas and later in Arkansas. He married Keith Louise Donnell in 1932 at Canyon. She died in 1980. He married Velma Schlegel in 1981 at Manhattan. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Don Bauer of Lauderhill, Fla., and Vance Bauer of Sarasota, Fla.; a stepson, Richard Schlegel of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Betty Allen of Edmond, Okla.; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He married Mildred Farquhar in 1934 at Canyon. He was in the Navy and served during World War II. He worked for the Department of Transportation for 30 years before retiring in 1977. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two sons, Raymond in 1995 and Harley in 1981. She married Charles Bartram in 1942 at Shamrock. They moved to Mobeetie and lived there until 1947 when they moved to the South Plains area. They moved to Tulia in 1948. Mrs. Bartram was a homemaker and a member of 6th & Gaines Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Frances Bradley of Hale Center and Betty Rogers of Lake Tanglewood; a son, Bobby Bartram of Tulia; a half sister, Mary Wright of Odenton, Md.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. McGhee was born in Tulia. He retired as a boiler maker for the railroad. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ty Bain, in 1977. Mrs. Davis was born in DeQueen, Ark. She married Sam Davis in 1938 at Crowell. They moved to Littlefield in 1950 and farmed and operated a service station there. They moved to Friona from Littlefield in 1991. Mrs. Davis worked in the cafeteria for the Littlefield schools for many years. She was a member of Crescent Park Church of Christ. Survivors include two daughters, Twila Hitt of Friona and Kathy Davis of Miami, Fla.; a sister, Nola Bogue of Drexel, Mo.; two brothers, Loye McRae of Sunray and Melvin McRae of Denison; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jenkins was born in Dericks, Ark. She was a longtime resident of Canadian and Amarillo. She managed restaurants. She was a Baptist. She married Jack Roland Turner. He died in 1932. She married Roy Jenkins in 1944. He died in 1951. She also was preceded in death by a son, Harlon Turner, in 1994. Survivors include a son, J.B. Turner of Swannanoa, N.C.; a daughter, Dorothy Mae Mason of Alturas, Calif.; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Howard C. Hendrix HOLDENVILLE, Okla. - Howard C. "Pee Wee'' Hendrix, 77, a former Amarillo resident, died Saturday, May 31, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Abundant Life Church. Burial will be in Holdenville Cemetery by Hudson and Phillips Funeral Home. Mr. Hendrix was born in Childress, Texas. He lived in Amarillo for several years before moving to Oklahoma. He worked for Dwight Cheek Trucking while living in Amarillo. He was a member of the Army and served in the Philippines and at Pearl Harbor. He was discharged with numerous medals in 1945. Survivors include his wife, Twila; two brothers, Thurman Hendrix of Moore and James Hendrix of Clayton, N.M.; and a sister, Ruby Weaver of Odessa, Texas. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home of Hooker. Mr. Kammerzell was born in Woodward County. He worked on farms all of his life and had recently worked for Pete Ansley and Louis Wall. As a young man he enjoyed traveling the United States by hopping the railroad or driving his HarleyDavidson. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include a sister, Lola Hobert of Chickasha. Michael James Honeman HOOKER, Okla. - Michael James Honeman, 26, died Sunday, June 1, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in United Methodist Church with David Cook, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Honeman was born in Liberal, Kan. He grew up in Hooker and graduated with the Class of 1989. While attending school he was a member of FFA and contributed to the FFA Auction. He played basketball, baseball and golf. He attended one year of college and married Arica Moore in 1990. Mr. Honeman farmed and ranched. He was a new member of United Methodist Church. Billy Rammage, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors. Mr. Bada was born in Ramsdell, Texas. He moved to New Mexico in 1914 when his parents homesteaded in Union County. He bought a ranch west of Gladstone in 1946 and farmed and ranched there until moving to Clayton in 1989. He married Lois Maye Oyler in 1946 at Winfield, Kan. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry Bada of Gladstone and Ronnie Lee Bada of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Colleen Neely of Jackson, Miss.; two sisters, Fannie Beard of Farley and Sue Headrick of Pueblo, Colo.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
