Mrs. Webb was born in Bell County. She married E.S. Webb in 1937 at Oklahoma. They moved to Dalhart in 1945. Mr. Webb died in 1968. Mrs. Webb worked for Morman's and Jack and Jill grocery for many years. Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Brown of Athens; three sisters, Brooksie Sheets and Dorris Treadwell, both of Texline, and Mae Gilliland of Fort Worth; and two grandchildren. Pamela Doylene Purcell MCLEAN - Pamela Doylene Purcell, 47, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with James Mantooth, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Purcell was born in Eldorado, Ark., and had been a resident of McLean for 15 years. She owned and operated a day-care center in McLean. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Frank Purcell, in 1983. She also was preceded in death by two infant children. Survivors include her parents, Floyd and Christine Johnson of McLean; a daughter, Angie Purcell of Canyon; two sons, Doug Purcell and Tobey Purcell, both of Canyon; two sisters, Mary Ann Curry of Oklahoma City and Floye Patton of McLean; and a brother, Darrell Johnson of Woodward, Okla. Sammy Joe Parsley PAMPA - Sammy Joe Parsley, 59, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Mr. Parsley was born in Borger. He moved to Pampa in 1946 from Felt, Okla. He graduated from Felt High School and attended Panhandle State University at Goodwell, Okla. He had been a roofing estimator for Parsley Roofing Co. for 30 years. He attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. He also was a square dance caller for 20 years. Mr. Parsley married Robin Lynne Rose in 1981 at Pampa. Survivors include his wife; a son, Roy Don Parsley of Amarillo; four daughters, Sammie Jo Parsley of the home, Miki Davis and Mandy Hearn, both of Pampa, and Mona Parsley of St. Louis; three brothers, Larry Parsley of Pampa, Lonnie Parsley of Weatherford, Okla., and the Rev. Joe Robert Anderson CHILDRESS - Joe Robert Anderson, 55, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Cecil R. Jones, the Rev. Larry Goodman and Elder Lon K. Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Anderson was born in Bonham and moved to Childress in 1944. He was a farmer and had been employed by Jim Parker for 17 years. He worked until January. He married Earnie Jones in 1964 at Childress. Survivors include his wife; his father, A.T. Anderson of Amarillo; his stepmother, J.O. Anderson of Amarillo; his mother, Janella King of Ladonia; his stepfather, Carl King of Ladonia; three daughters, Angela Anderson and Miranda Anderson, both of Fort Worth, and Darla Anderson of Childress; a sister, Oreva Vadil of Childress; a brother, Cecil Jones of Bonham; a godchild, Leslie Hampton of Fort Worth; and a grandchild. Duane Stubblefield HEREFORD - Duane Stubblefield, 62, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997. Mr. Stubblefield was born in Norton and had lived in Hereford for 12 years. He was an Army veteran. He was the owner and operator of Ink Spot Printing in Hereford. He was a member of Hereford Masonic Lodge No. 849 and had been Worshipful Master of the Happy Masonic Lodge. He also was a United Methodist church member. Mr. Stubblefield married Mary Carter in 1958 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Becky Gail Payne of Amarillo and Kaye Lynn Johnson of Plano; two sisters, Lounette Carter of Amarillo and Marlene Caraway of Dumas; and three grandsons. Joe Rodriguez SHAMROCK - Joe Rodriguez, 81, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Shamrock Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Boylin of Childress officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Rodriguez had lived in Shamrock for more than 50 years. He was a painter for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine M. Rodriguez, in 1996. Survivors include two daughters, Josephine Snyder of Dallas Town, Pa., and Mary Workman of Harrisonville, Pa.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. John T. Rice TEXLINE - John T. Rice, 79, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Texline Cemetery with D.C. Brown, minister of Texline Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home Inc. Mr. Rice was born and raised in South Dakota. He married Norma Nunn in 1947 at Forrest Grove, Ore. They moved to Texas in 1973. Mr. Rice was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a survivor of Pearl Harbor. Survivors include two sons, Pat Rice of Texline and Tim Rice of Alamosa, Colo.; a daughter, Laura Rice of Evanston, Wyo.; two sisters, Dee AnDyke and Irene AnDyke, both of Redmond, Ore.; three brothers, George Mizer and Paul Mizer, both of Hillsboro, Ore., and Paul Mizer of Seaside, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center. Amarillo Annie Elder Carruthers Annie Elder Carruthers, 97, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997. Memorial services will be in Orlando, Fla. Burial will be at a later date in Carleton Place, Ontario, Canada. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Carruthers was born in Glasgow, Scotland. In 1948, she immigrated with her husband, Hector, to the United States from Luton, England. She and her family lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for more than 35 years. She recently had moved to Amarillo. She was a longtime member of the Order of Eastern Star, the White Shrine and Grace Episcopal Church in Cedar Rapids. Mrs. Carruthers was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Kuehl of Melbourne, Fla., and Ann Carruthers of Stittsville, Ontario, Canada; two grandchildren including J. Stuart Lake of Amarillo; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Mattie M. Davis Mattie M. Davis, 62, of Amarillo, died Friday, Sept. 26, 1997. Hughes St. Mrs. Davis was born in Eagle Lake and had been a longtime Amarillo resident. She was worked in housekeeping at a hospital. Her husband, Emmitt, preceded her in death. Survivors include four sons, Maurice Limicy, Lester Limicy, Ray Charles Brown and Thomas E. Brown, all of Amarillo; a daughter, Emily Davis of Amarillo; three sisters, Georgetta Mask of Slaton, Dorothy Jackson of Amarillo and Anna Watson of Killeen; and 10 grandchildren. The family will be at 1224 W. 11th Ave., Apt. 2. Mary Gantt Mary Gantt, 89, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Raines, associate pastor at First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Gantt was born in Everman. She moved to Amarillo 60 years ago from Spearman, where she had been a school teacher. She attended Wayland Baptist College in Plainview and graduated from West Texas Teachers College. She retired as a bookkeeper from Bob Crudgington and also worked as a bookkeeper for Gunn Brothers in Amarillo. Mrs. Gantt was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include a niece, Anna Stewart of Amarillo; and a sister-in-law, J. Alfred Calvin Nimmo Alfred Calvin Nimmo, 79, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997. He was the co-owner of Nimmo Travel Trailers and Used Cars. He served with the Army during World War II. He was a 45-year member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Dana Lallement Nimmo; three sons, David Nimmo of Rayburn, and Harlie Nimmo and Larry Nimmo, both of Amarillo; a brother, Jack C. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Calvin Williams, in 1973. She married Jim Morgan in 1993. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Cindy VanZandt of The Woodlands and Nancy John of Fort Collins, Colo.; a son, Mark Williams of Amarillo; a sister, Gerri Bianchi of Amarillo; and seven grandchildren. Norma Louise Young Norma "No-No'' Louise Young, 50, of 13014 Golden Drive, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. She was founder of the Scleroderma Chapter. New Mexico James Keith Lyon PORTALES, N.M. - James Keith Lyon, 76, a former Portales resident, died Monday, Sept. 22, 1997, in Lubbock, Texas. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Randy Rankin officiating. Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Inc. Mr. Lyon was born in Casper, Wyo. He graduated from Natrona County High School in 1939. He served in the Army during World War II. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Washburn University in Topeka, Kan., in 1947; a master of divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago in 1950; and a master of public administration from the University of Nebraska in Omaha in 1973. Mr. Lyon served as a Presbyterian minister in Montana, Iowa and Nebraska. He was director of the North Central Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging in Manhattan, Kan., and director of the Nutrition Program for the Elderly in Omaha. He also was director of the Paxton Manor Retirement Facility in Omaha. Mr. Lyon moved to Portales in 1985 with his wife, Dr. Betty Clayton Lyon. While in Portales, he helped found the Broad Horizons Education Center. In 1995, a set of apartments for single mothers attending Broad Horizons School was named the James K. Lyon Apartments in his honor. He served on the University Symphony League board and the Portales Main Street Committee. He was past president of the Eastern Plains Council of Governments and a member of the Portales Rotary Club and the Portales Gem and Mineral Club. He recently moved to Lubbock. Survivors include his wife; his children, Richard Lyon of Westminster, Calif., Jeanie Scheffler of Blair, Neb., Jeremy Lyon and Rebecca Makineh, both of Nashville, Tenn., and Jane Hart of Richardson, Texas; a brother, Edwin Richard Lyon of Torrington, Wyo.; and 12 grandchildren. Card CLOVIS, N.M. - Ralph N. Card, 86, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Mission Garden of Memories with Kelvin Copeland officiating. Military honors will be by Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Card was born in Great Valley, N.Y. He married Kathryn Little Soldier in 1939 at Warner, N.D. They moved to Clovis in 1972. Mr. Card worked with the civil service as a boiler operator at Nellis Air Force Base. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Janesville, Calif. Survivors include a daughter, Iredelle Fetzer of Clovis; a sister, Doris McClune of Salamanca, N.Y.; a brother, Lloyd Card of Wapahu, Hawaii; and a grandson. Fronia M. Bourne HOUSE, N.M. - Fronia M. Bourne, 73, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Melrose Methodist Church in Melrose with Joe Henegar officiating. Burial will be in Hassell Cemetery at Hassell by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis. Mrs. Bourne was born in Bartlesville, Okla. She married Henry Arthur Bourne in 1943 at Bartlesville. They moved to the House area that same year. Mrs. Bourne was a homemaker and a member of the McAllister Quilting Club and the IMA Quilting Club. She also president of the House 39ers Club. She was of the Pentecostal faith. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991 and by a daughter, Naomi Jones. Survivors include three daughters, Terrell Thompson of Melrose, Wynella Shaw of Portales and Beverly Stein of Denison, Texas; five brothers, Roy Fox of Bayfield, Colo., Paul Fox, John Fox and Gene Fox, all of Bartlesville, and Robert Fox of Dewey, Okla.; three sisters, Mamie Asay and Rubye White, both of Sacramento, Calif., and Betsy Cobler of Rainier, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
