Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Davidson was born in Abilene. She came to Amarillo in 1949 from Borger. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Ralph Horace Davidson in 1932 at Gould, Okla. He died in 1970. Survivors include a son, Ralph E. Davidson of Amarillo; two brothers, O.J. Pearson of Oklahoma City, and Archie Pearson of Arkansas; five sisters, Ruby Moore of Pampa, Eula Millspaugh of Bethany, Okla., Annie Morse of Fort Worth, Josie Evanson and Vinnie Webb, both of Seattle; and two grandchildren. Norman L. Beard Norman L. Beard, 70, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, July 2, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in N.S. Griggs & Sons Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with Rand Montgomery of Victory Church officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Mr. Beard was born in Henderson. He served as a Fireman First Class in the Navy during World War II. He also worked as a heavy construction worker for many years. He married Majorie Catherine Bartlett in 1951 at Alice. She died in 1995. Survivors include four daughters, Catherine A. Wheeler, Brenda S. Loveday and Alisha G. Beard, all of Amarillo, and Rhonda K. Bishop of Pryor, Okla.; two sons, Charles M. Beard and Benny R. Beard, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Oralee McKnight of Ervin, and Mary Neal Tennison of Henderson. The family requests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice. The family will be at 7127 Bluebonnet St. Canyon Dorothy D. Baker Dorothy D. Baker, 74, of Canyon, died Thursday, July 3, 1997, in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in University Church of Christ with David Lough, pastor, officiating. Cremation is arranged by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mrs. Baker was born in Braggs, Okla. She graduated from Muskogee General High School. During World War II, she was a journeyman ship welder for Kiser Ship Yards in California. She married James E. "Gene'' Baker in 1944 at Reno, Nev. For the 12 years prior to settling in Canyon, she and her husband traveled around the United States. She moved to Canyon in 1994. She had been a member of the Church of Christ, and she spent the last several years working with the clothing ministry in the Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Sharon A. Baker of Fair Oaks, Calif., and Susan K. Lincoln of Anchorage, Alaska; a son, Arthur James Baker of Canyon; a sister, Doris Hill of Fort Gibson, Okla.; a brother, Joe Haley of Muskogee, Okla.; and a granddaughter. Oklahoma Leta Rupprecht ARNETT, Okla. - Leta Rupprecht, 82, died Thursday, July 3, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in United Methodist Church of Arnett with Dr. Jene Miller officiating. Burial will be at DeBolt Cemetery. Arrangements are by Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Shattuck. Mrs. Rupprecht was born in Lonetree Community of Ellis County. She attended school at Higgins and Shattuck, later graduating from high school at Perryton, Texas. She married Elmer Rupprecht in 1934 at Arnett. They made their home in Perryton until 1944, when they moved to Logan. They had lived in Follett, Texas, for a period of time until making their home at Arnett in 1951, where they had resided since. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Arnett, the Arnett Library Club and a lifetime member of the Women's Society of Christian Service, which is now known as the United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mae Yvonne Miller. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Charles E. Rupprecht of Norman, and Walter C. Rupprecht of Jones; a brother, Vernon Price of Arnett; a sister, Jettie Luallen of Shreveport, La.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the donor's church of choice. Joy Bee Henderson MUSKOGEE, Okla. - Joy Bee Henderson, 82, died Thursday, July 3, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Grace Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. L.D. Green and Johnny Lee Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Kermit Cemetery in Kermit, Texas. Arrangements are by Cooper Funeral Chapel, Inc., of Kermit, Texas. Mrs. Henderson was a homemaker. She was a Baptist and a member of Grace Temple Baptist Church in Kermit. She had been a resident of Kermit for more than 50 years before moving to Muskogee in 1997. She was active as a Pink Lady for many years. She married Evans Dawson Henderson in 1930 at Hollis. He died in 1971. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Henderson, in 1938. Survivors include four sons, Riley D. Henderson of Keefton, Kenneth Henderson of Burgaw, N.C., Terry Henderson of Wink, Texas, and Larry Henderson of Houston; two daughters, Wanda Cooper of Stigler, and Peggy Baker of Pampa, Texas; 18 grandchildren; several greatgrandchildren; and several great-greatgrandchildren. Thelma Ione Parker BOISE CITY, Okla. - Thelma "Tillie'' Ione Parker, 81, died Thursday, July 3, 1997. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Boise City Christian Church with Tom Milbern, Frank Tepe and Kary Myers officiating. Burial will be at Boise City Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cimarron Mortuary of Boise City. Mrs. Parker was born in Tupelo. She and her family came to the Boise City area in 1926. She graduated from the Boise City High School. She married Charles Parker in 1935 at Boise City. He preceded her in death. She had lived most of her life in Boise City, except when she and her husband moved to Santa Barbara, Calif., when her husband was in the service. She was a member of Boise City Christian Church. She was a past member of the HEO Club, the Helping Hands Club, the Licensed Practical Nurse Association and the MG Foundation. Survivors include a son, Darrell Parker of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Barbara Messersmith of Boise City; a foster son, Charles Hawkins of Boise City; a brother, Robert Harkins of Walla Walla, Wash.; a sister, Agnes Hobgood of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Area Everett Mason BORGER - Everett Mason, 88, died Friday, July 4, 1997. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Minton Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Buck Lawley officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa. Mr. Mason was born in Whitesboro. He had been a Borger resident since 1947. He was a district gauger for Phillips Petroleum, retiring in 1974. He was a Methodist and befriended Church of God and Trinity Fellowship. He was a veteran of World War II. Serving with the First Cavalry Division, Troop A, as a corporal, he received the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, the American Defense Service Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal. He fought in battles in the southern Philippines, New Guinea, Luzon and Bismarck-Archipelago. He was a squad leader and an expert rifleman. He married Jean Dible in 1954 at Borger. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, B.J. Mason of Dallas; a brother, Ray Mason of Pampa; and a sister, Edna Faye Hazel of Mustang, Okla. Ethel Irene Reeves HIGGINS - Ethel Irene Reeves, 90, died Thursday, July 3, 1997, in Canadian. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Clifford Baze, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors of Canadian. Mrs. Reeves was born in Doster, Kan. She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church in Arkansas City, Kan. She married Clyde F. Comstock in 1927 at Blackwell, Okla. He died in 1956. She married Chester Reeves in 1958. He died in 1988. Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Fritzlen of Higgins; a stepdaughter, Dona Cochran of Pratt, Kan.; three stepsons, Jim Reeves of Augusta, Kan., Jerry Reeves of Wichita, Kan., and Bill Reeves of Mulvane, Kan.; three brothers, Forrest Moore of Nampa, Idaho, Donald Moore of Quartz Hill, Calif., and Andrew Moore of Ontario, Ore.; six sisters, Dorothy Martin of Bay City, Ore., Naoma Houger of Grangeville, Idaho, Wilma Miller of Pendleton, Ore., Marjorie Cummings of Spanaway, Wash., Virginia Ashbaugh of Astoria, Ore., and Gladys Carpenter of Ponca City, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. "Jim'' Cook, 85, died Friday, July 4, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Lincoln Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob McAlister officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home Inc., of Dalhart. Mr. Cook was born in Hardeeville, S.C. He graduated from Hardeeville High School in 1934. He worked in highway construction and had his own heavy equipment company before joining the Army in 1942. During the war he was stationed in London, where he drove for Gen. Sewell and Col. Smith. He was stationed at Dalhart in 1944. He married Rebecca Weatherford in 1946 at Clayton, N.M. She died in 1992. After the war, he worked for the ice plant in the electric department at Dalhart. He also worked for the city of Dalhart for 30 years, retiring in 1976. He was also preceded in death by a son, James E. Cook. Survivors include two daughters, Lorene Cook Ballew of Dalhart, and Armetha Cook Heiskell of Amarillo; a son, J.W. Cook of Amarillo; a sister, Francis Cook of Harrison, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. The family will be at the home of Russell and Lorene Ballew in Green Acres. The family requests memorials be to hospice or a favorite charity.
