Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the United Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray E. McCoy, pastor, and the Rev. I.L. Patrick of Pampa, officiating. Burial will be at the Plainview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Fields was born in Grand Cane, La. She worked at the Panhandle Compress and was a custodian at the First United Methodist Church until her retirement in 1985. She married S.P. Fields in 1952 at Mexico. She was a member of the United Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, was church secretary and choir member. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Women's Missionary Society. Survivors include her husband; a son, Willis C. Pea of Los Angeles; two daughters, Lillie Lowery of Oklahoma City, and Nancy L. Smith of Los Angeles; a brother, Jiles Austin Sr., of Grand Cane, La.; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Verne Lois Nichols PLAINVIEW - Verne Lois Nichols, 69, died Saturday, May 3, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Little Hope Baptist Church at Winnsboro, with the Rev. Nickie Pinson, of Sulphur Springs, officiating. Burial will be at Little Hope Cemetery, near Winnsboro. Arrangements are by Beaty Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Local arrangements are by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Nichols was born in Crosbyton. She had lived in Spur for many years. She moved to Tahoka in 1954 and to Plainview in 1992. She was a bookkeeper at Tahoka Co-Op Gin for many years. She was a member of the Tahoka First Baptist Church. She married W.A. "Nick'' Nichols in 1944 at Idalou. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Jo Carol Walker of Plainview; two sisters, Loretta Wesmoreland of Houston, and Nita Caraway of Princeton; and two grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Hospice of the Plains or the American Cancer Society. Roy Lee Montrose BORGER - Roy Lee Montrose,45, died Saturday, May 3, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Minton/Chatwell Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Tom Harrison, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be at Field of Honor in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Montrose had been a lifetime resident of Borger. He was the owner and operator of Louie's Tire Shop. He was in the Army serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Borger, and the American Legion. He married Janie Stout in 1973 at Denton. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jennifer Lee Montrose of the home; his father, W.F. Montrose of Borger; four brothers, Roger Montrose of Athens, Gary Davis of Dallas, Ray Jordan of Amarillo, and Larry Jordan of Westerly, R.I.; two sisters, Sharon Stottelmyer and Kay Yarbrough, both of Borger; and grandmother, Thelma Drake of Borger. Ramona Ellen Bolin MULESHOE - Ramona Ellen Bolin, 66, died Sunday, May 4, 1997. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Muleshoe Cemetery with the Rev. H.D. Hunter of Muleshoe, officiating. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home. Ms. Bolin was born in Lubbock. She moved to Muleshoe to live with her daughter. She was a homemaker and a professional musician. Survivors include three daughters, Myra Copley, Barbara Scott, and Glenda Price, all of Muleshoe; a brother, Zane Boldin of Roswell, N.M.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Johnnie Collinsworth PERRYTON - Johnnie Collinsworth, 68, died Saturday, May 3, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Boxwell Brothers Chapel at Perryton. Burial will be at Ochiltree Cemetery. The body will not be available for viewing. Mr. Collinsworth was born in Perryton. He moved to Perryton from Duncan, Okla., in the mid-1980s. Survivors include two sons, Jerry Collinsworth and Tom Collinsworth, both of Duncan, Okla.; two sisters, Jane McGarraugh and Patsy Hyatt, both of Perryton. Elsewhere D.M. Floyd LONGVIEW - D.M. "Doyle'' Floyd, 82, died Saturday, May 3, 1997. Services will be at noon today in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with David Allen and John Tate officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in the Dodd City Cemetery, near Bonham. Mr. Floyd was born in Milton. He had been a resident of Longview since 1986, moving from Bonham. He was a retired self-employed custom home builder. He was an avid gardener and was a member of the Pine Tree Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Floyd. Survivors include his wife, Oleta Floyd; a daughter, Nancy Hamilton of Amarillo; a son, Jim Threadgill of Dallas; a brother, Buford Floyd of Amarillo. Eddie Lee Parsons ODESSA - Eddie Lee Parsons, 59, died Saturday, May 3, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the First United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Terry Pugh officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home of Odessa. Mr. Parsons was born in Dumas. He was a pipeline inspector for Phillips Petroleum for 29 years. He was a member of the American Legion. He married Jean Armstrong in 1974 at Odessa. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rick Parsons and David Parsons, both of Amarillo; two stepdaughters, Sheree Pinkerson and Beverly Wingo, both of Midland; his mother, Bonnie Parsons of Dumas; two brothers, Larry Parsons of Stratford, and Joe Parsons of Carrollton; a sister, Eva Venable of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. New Mexico Virgie Dunaway PORTALES - Virgie Dunaway, 88, died Sunday, May 4, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Fuller officiating. Burial will be at the Portales Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales, Inc. Mrs. Dunaway was born in Dill City, Indian Territory. The family moved from Oklahoma to Liberal, Kan., in 1945. They came to Portales in 1950. She married W.C. "Dub'' Dunaway in 1929 at Cordell, Okla. She worked as a waitress at the Kozy Korner Cafe in Portales, and later as the head housekeeper at the Cal Boykin Hotel. For a number of years before she retired, she worked as a waitress and a hostess at the Sands Restaurant. She retired there in 1967. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She then helped take care of her grandchildren. In 1980, she moved to Oklahoma to live with her sister. After several years, she returned to Portales and lived there for the rest of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1965, and a son, James Lewis Dunaway. Survivors include a son, Kenneth DeWayne of Dimmitt, Texas; two daughters, Imogene Atchley of Portales, and Patsy Boland of Odessa, Texas; a sister, Bonnie Sapp of Austin, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
