Morris Anthony "Tony'' W. Morris, 53, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Jim Shelburne of Washington Avenue Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Hope. Mr. Morris was born in Petrolia and moved to Amarillo in 1964. He had worked as a yardmaster for Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring in January. He was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church. He married Frances Logston in 1965 at Wichita Falls. He was preceded in death by a son, Jack Logston, in 1996. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lori Morris of Amarillo; a brother, Joe Morris of Amarillo; and three grandchildren. William Curtis William "Bill'' Curtis, 89, of Amarillo, died Friday, Aug. 29, 1997. Burial will be at a later date in Riverside National Cemetery at Riverside, Calif. Memorial services also will be at a later date. Local arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Curtis was born in Cuervo, N.M., and had lived in Amarillo from 1918 until 1952 when he moved to California. He married Jimmie Marie Wood in 1936 at Amarillo. He returned to Amarillo in 1989 from California. He worked for the dry cleaners at Camp Pendleton in California for several years and also worked for Doche Cleaners in Amarillo for several years. He served in the Navy during World War II. His wife, Jimmie, preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Bryan Curtis of Amarillo; a stepson, James Taylor of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren. The body will not be available for viewing. The family will be at 304 S. Fairmont. Jeanette Alexander Jeanette Alexander, 67, of 3129 Seminole, died Friday, Sept. 5, 1997. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Llano Cemetery with Rev. Robert Field, pastor of Southeast Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Alexander was born in Slaton. She had lived in Amarillo most of her life. She lived a short time in Brighton, Colo. She worked as a secretary for the city of Amarillo for 17 years. She was a Baptist. Survivors include three daughters, Judy McGregor-Buckner, Shirley Jean Collins and Karan Lee Washburn, all of Amarillo; her mother, Edna Ballard of Clovis; one sister, Sammie Smith of Clovis; and three grandchildren. The family will be at 3129 Seminole. They will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Robert J. Wisocki Robert J. "Bob'' Wisocki, 78, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Bert Horvath of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Wisocki was born in Superior, Wis. He had lived in Amarillo for 47 years. He married Norma Wisocki in 1945 at Amarillo. Mr. Wisocki was a Catholic and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife and one sister, Doris Zabalski of Superior, Wis. The family will be at 804 S. Kentucky. Lester Whitaker Lester Whitaker, 96, of Amarillo, died Friday, Sept. 5, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Bob Sawyer of First United Methodist Church of Tucumcari, N.M., officiating. Burial will be Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery at Tucumcari. Mr. Whitaker was born in Hughes Springs and had lived in Amarillo for over 20 years. He moved to Amarillo from Nara Visa, N.M. From 1928-1973 he was a Standard Oil agent. He was also a rancher. He was a member of Nara Visa Masonic Lodge and Nara Visa United Methodist Church. He married Thelma Farley in 1932 at Clayton, N.M. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Clark. Survivors include his wife; a son, Winston Whitaker of Albuquerque, N.M.; a daughter, Donna Dismukes of Austin; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to a favorite charity. Dee Ann Bailey Dee Ann Bailey, 66, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 1997. Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery with Ken Crandall, retired chaplain, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Bailey was born and raised in McPherson, Kan., and had lived in Amarillo for three years. She was a nurse and a Baptist. Survivors include her husband, William T. Bailey; two brothers, Richard Blandin of Pueblo, Colo., and Glenn Blandin of El Dorado Kan. Billy Dendy Billy Dendy, 69, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Dendy was born in Amarillo and had lived here all his life. He was a retired tree surgeon and painter. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Trudy Dendy; a son, Danny Ray of Grant's Pass, Ore.; a brother, Roger Dendy of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. The family will be at 505 S. Dallas. Jack Harris Jack Harris, 65, of 6503 Terryville, died Friday, Sept. 5, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Amarillo South Church of Christ with Brad Small officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Eastland Cemetery at Eastland. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Harris was born in Eastland and had lived in Amarillo for 12 years. He graduated from Gorman High School and attended North Texas College in Denton. He served in the Air Force. Mr. Harris worked for German Car Company and Victor Cornelius Inc. in Amarillo. While in Eastland, he worked for the highway department. He started Jack's Lawn Maintenance in 1986 and retired in 1995. He was a member of Amarillo South Church of Christ. He married Nancy Hale in 1961 at Stratford. Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Christie Lee of Dallas; a stepson, Gary Lane of Amarillo; a sister, Janie Johnson of San Bernardino, Calif.; a brother, John Tom Harris, of Alberton, Mont.; six grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. The body will be available for viewing Sunday at 9 a.m. The family will be at 6503 Terryville and requests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, 79176. Daniel William Roush Daniel William Roush, 55, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 1997. Services will be Sunday at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Amarillo. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Roush was born in Lakeview, Ore. He moved to Amarillo in 1993. He spent two years in Vietnam as a Green Beret. He retired from the military in 1990. Mr. Roush was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include a son, Scott Roush of Klamath Falls, Ore.; his mother, Irene Roush of Prinville, Ore.; a half brother, Darrel Roush of Medford, Ore.; and two sisters, Cris Roush of Spray, Ore., and Lea Joy of Vail, Ore. The family requests memorials be sent to Chapter 297 of the Vietnam Veterans of America. Canyon Minnie A. King Minnie A. King, 97, of Canyon, died Friday Sept. 5, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Noblett officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors, 1702 Fifth Avenue in Canyon. Mrs. King was born in Hood County. She moved from Pampa to Canyon in 1976. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She married Robert King in 1918 at Kirkland. He died in 1976. Survivors include a son, Bobby King of Orange; a daughter, Willie M. Free of Amarillo; a brother, Lee Newman of Hereford; a sister, Pauline Kropff of Hereford; numerous grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. or other children's charities. Area Lydia Hilbert BORGER - Lydia Hilbert, 90, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Art McAninch, pastor of Fairlanes Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Pampa. Mrs. Hilbert was born in Indian Territory and had lived in the Borger area since 1938. She moved to Phillips in 1938 and to Borger in 1984. She was a homemaker. She married Austin Harvey Hilbert in 1938. He died in 1975. Survivors include a son, Harvey Hilbert of Borger; two sisters, Hilda Niemier and Midge Gillmore, both of Woodward, Okla.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center in Amarillo. Fred Nicholson PERRYTON - Fred Nicholson, 76, died Thursday Sept. 4, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Steve Ulrey officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery. Mr. Nicholson was born in Putnam, Ind., and was a longtime Perryton resident and a farmer. He was a Methodist. He is survived by a sister, Imogene Grells, of Rochdale, Ind. Wayne Clements DALHART - Wayne Clements, 90, died Friday, Sept. 5, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Ray M. Guy, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home. Mr. Clements was born in Kokomo, Texas. He graduated from Gorman High School. He moved to Dalhart in 1931 and purchased the Dalhart Hatchery in 1936. He was a member of the Dalhart Rotary Club, served on the Dalhart City Council for 11 years and was a member of First Christian Church. In 1991 he was honored as Gentleman Pioneer. He married Bradye Duncan in 1928 at Carbon. She died in 1982. He married Belle Selley in 1984. She died in 1994. Survivors include three daughters, Dee Prater of Liberal, Kan., Mary Wallace of Dalhart and Stella Walker of Junction City, Kan.; nine grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. C.W. Dale LAZBUDDIE - C. W. "Curley'' Dale, 67, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Al Jennings, retired minister, and Pastor Rick Ketterling of Trinity Church in Clovis, N.M., officiating. Burial will be in Lazbuddie Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Dale was born in Izard County, Ark. He moved from La Crosse, Ark., to Lazbuddie in 1960. He was a farmer and a member of First Baptist Church of Lazbuddie. He married Eula Arnold in 1956 at Lunenberg, Ark. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dwayne Dale and Rickie Dale, both of Lazbuddie; a daughter, Pat Randolph of Lazbuddie; two sisters, Vona Morser of East Wenatchee, Wash., and Jean Teagarden of Sunnyside, Wash.; and four grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Lazbuddie Fire Department, the Lazbuddie EMS or Family Hospice of Plainview.
