Paul Bryan Jr. FRITCH - W. Paul Bryan Jr., 60, died Monday, Aug. 4, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First Southern Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Howard of First Baptist Church of Hedley officiating. Burial will be in Fort Lyon Cemetery in Hasty, Colo. Arrangements are by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Bryan was born in Odessa. He had been a Fritch resident for 21 years, moving from Houston. He graduated from Borger High School in 1955 and from West Texas A&M University in 1992. He taught sixthgrade social studies at Sanford-Fritch Junior High School for five years. Mr. Bryan retired as a senior chief petty officer after serving in the Navy for 20 years. He was in six tours of combat duty during the Vietnam War. He served aboard the USS Ranger, America, Enterprise and Hancock. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Bryan; a daughter, Tammie Bryan of the home; two sons, Christopher Bryan of La Junta, Colo., and Lonnie Bryan of North Dakota; two sisters, Janet Forrest of Borger and Glenna Berinti of Fritch. The family requests memorials be to the Leukemia Society of America or the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Willford Hall Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. Ronnie James Wall FLOYDADA - Ronnie James Wall, 38, of Abilene, a former Floydada resident, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 1997. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with Alex Dwayne Wall, brother of the deceased and minister of Temple of Praise Church of Amarillo, Vernon Session of Church of God in Christ of Stamford and Tommy Wilson of Macedonia Baptist Church of Matador officiating. Burial will be in Floydada Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mr. Wall was born in Lockney. He graduated from Floydada High School and attended San Angelo State College. He moved to Abilene in 1989. He lived in Abilene for four years and worked as night manager for Fiesta Grocery Stores. He moved to Plainview in 1996 and lived there for eight months before returning to Abilene. Mr. Wall was a partner in Ron's Longhorn Limousine Service in Abilene. He was a member of Free Church of God in Christ in Jesus Name of Floydada. Survivors include his parents, Alex and Leddie Wall of Floydada; four brothers, Jerry Wall, Arthur Wall and Allen Wall, all of Plainview, and Alex Dwayne Wall of Amarillo; four sisters, Jeannie Glenn, Brenda Wall and Sandra Tolson, all of Plainview, and Linda McClendon of Amarillo; and his grandfather, Preston Davis of San Diego. The family requests memorials be to Free Church of God in Christ in Jesus Name of Floydada. Alta Jackson WELLINGTON - Alta Jackson, 77, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Derwin Comer, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Jackson was born in Hollis, Okla. She graduated from Wellington High School in 1937. She was a laboratory and X-ray technician for more than 40 years. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Cobb. She also was preceded in death by husband Don Jackson in 1967. She moved back to Wellington in 1982. Survivors include a son, Phillip Cobb of Wellington; a sister, Vivian Royal of Wellington; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Joe Tarver WELLINGTON - Joe Tarver, 72, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 1997. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Ulrey, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Perryton, and the Rev. Brian Adams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Tarver was born in Thalia. He moved to Collingsworth County at a young age. He attended school at Estelline. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Virginia White in 1954 at the Kelly community. Mr. Tarver was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and First United Methodist Church. He also was active with the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program. He was preceded in death by a son, Shane Tarver, in 1990. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sallie Tarver of Amarillo; a son, Scott Tarver of Wellington; three sisters, Thelma Able of Amarillo, Vida Jean Tarver of Abilene and Wilma Gibbs of Wellington; a brother, Ocie Tarver of Elk City, Okla.; and two grandchildren. Sileta Richardson HALE CENTER - Sileta Richardson, 89, a former Hale Center resident, died Monday, Aug. 4, 1997, in Ponca City, Okla. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Meacham, pastor, and Walter Hunt of Lubbock officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park in Plainview by Freeman Funeral Home. Mrs. Richardson was born in Hess, Okla. She lived in Hale Center for 53 years. She moved to Lubbock in 1995 and to Oklahoma in 1996. She married Samuel O. Richardson in 1940 at Lubbock. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Richardson was a member of First Baptist Church, the Hale Center Senior Citizens Association, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Daughters of the Nile and the Home Demonstration Club. Survivors include a son, Philip Richardson of Ponca City; four brothers, A.J. Phillips and H.W. Phillips, both of Plainview, A.L. Phillips of Paradise and Melvin Phillips of Amarillo; a sister, Evelyn Horton of Fort Worth; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Willie Louis Garrett PLAINVIEW - Willie Louis Garrett, 64, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Wood-Dunning Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Tolson, associate pastor of Good Samaritan Outreach Pentecostal Church of God, officiating. Burial will be in Kress Cemetery in Kress. Mr. Garrett was born in Roosevelt, Okla. He moved to Plainview in 1953 from Paducah. He operated Garrett Pump Service, a water well pump company, for 47 years. He was a member of the Pentecostal church. Survivors include his wife, Reba Nelson Garrett; two daughters, Delores Garrett of Plainview and Betty Ann Garrett of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sons, Bobby Garrett and Douglas Garrett, both of Plainview, and Loyd Garrett of Levelland; a stepson, Steven Todd Sheppard of Plainview; his mother, Ella Belle Garrett of Littlefield; two brothers, Buck Garrett of Levelland and Doyle Garrett of Ennis; and 14 grandchildren. George Baugus DUMAS - George Baugus, 57, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with Ray G. Anderson, deacon at First Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Baugus was born in Dumas and had been a Dumas resident all of his life. He retired in 1996 as main supervisor at Continental Carbon after 28 years of service. He married Myrtle Lee Meier in 1956 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a son, Carlton Baugus of Dumas; two daughters, Belinda Baugus of Dumas and Cathy B. Allen of Fort Worth; two brothers, Charles Baugus and Billy Jack Baugus, both of Andrews; and three grandchildren. The family will be at 101 Ted, west subdivision. Mario Stortz. Arrangements are by Wallace Funeral Home. Etta Moss Buscher CLARENDON - Etta Moss Buscher, 89, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Robertson Funeral Directors Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Bryan Knowles, pastor of Martin Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery in Hedley. Mrs. Buscher was born in Somerset, Ky., and had lived in Donley County most of her life. She had been a resident of Clarendon for the past 34 years. She married Arnie Marion Moss in 1926 at Memphis. He died in 1970. She married Henry Buscher in 1973 at Hollis, Okla. He died in 1986. Mrs. Buscher was a homemaker and a member of Parnell Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Hill of Clarendon and Jessie Traylor of Douglass; a son, Donald Moss of Clarendon; a sister, Dorothy Christenson of Mountain Ridge, Kan.; a brother, Virgil Johnson of Hedley; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Foster Wheeler Keener CLARENDON - Foster Wheeler Keener, 64, of the Wichita Falls area, died Monday, Aug. 4, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Citizens Cemetery with the Rev. Truman Ledbetter, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors Inc. Mr. Keener was born in Clarendon and had lived much of his life in the Wichita Falls area. He worked as a mechanic most of his life. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Vernon. Survivors include two brothers, Bryan Keener of Wichita Falls and Ronald Keener of Dallas. Sam Charles Labus PANHANDLE - Sam Charles Labus, 73, of Amarillo, a former Panhandle resident, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Church of Christ with Leonard Harper officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Labus was born in Panna Maria and lived in Panhandle for 70 years. He was a farmer. He and his wife, Gayle, moved to Amarillo a couple of years ago. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Danny Labus and Ricky Labus, both of Wichita, Kan.; 10 daughters, Treva Gilbreth, Starlyn Justice and Karon Ensey, all of Tulsa, Okla., Janet Watson, Sharon Tabor, Denine Johnson and Sheila Ensey, all of Amarillo, Karen Allen of McKinney, Cindy Burton of Houston and Sharon Glass of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Ann Coker of Miami, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Napoleon Saunders Napoleon Saunders, 85, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. E.D. Fields, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary Inc., 509 N. Hughes St. Mr. Saunders was born in Waxahachie and had been a longtime Amarillo resident. He received his formal education in the public school system. He joined the Army during World War II. He was a self-employed carpenter for more than 50 years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Markwell Lodge No. 415 and Ozar Temple No. 146. He was a longtime member of Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Dennis "Dimples'' Saunders of Lubbock; two sisters, Zenovia Gregory and Geraldine Baylock, both of Dallas; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Geneva Marie Lacy Geneva Marie Lacy, 66, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1997. Graveside services will be at 4:30 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery with Paul Coonfield of Amarillo officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Lacy was born in Howell, Ark. She moved to Amarillo in 1980 from Washburn. She was a homemaker. She married Martin D. Lacy in 1948 at Amarillo. He died in 1980. She also was preceded in death by a son, Leslie Floyd Lacy. Survivors include a son, Gary Dale Lacy of Berry; two daughters, Linda Thornton of Kansas City, Mo., and Nancy Ann Porter of Amarillo; a brother, Bob Rodgers of Sanford; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Lucille Hodges Perkins FORGAN, Okla. - Lucille Lenora Hodges Perkins, 79, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Forgan United Methodist Church with Kent Perkins, Jim Sutherland and Riley Donica officiating. Burial will be in Forgan Cemetery by Clark Funeral Service of Beaver. Mrs. Perkins was born in Forgan and had been a Beaver County resident all of her life. She graduated from high school and continued her education with 19 total years of schooling. She was a teacher in the Forgan schools for many years. She married Ralph Perkins in 1942 at Elk City, Okla. He died in 1966. Mrs. Perkins was a member of Forgan First Christian Church for more than 35 years. She also was a member of the Beaver County Retired Teachers Association and the Oklahoma Education Association. She was a member and secretary-treasurer of the Forgan Golden Agers. Survivors include two sons, Kent Perkins of Nashoba and Joe Ralph Perkins of Broken Arrow; a brother, Wayne Hodges of Forgan; and five grandchildren. New Mexico Mack E. Ainsworth PORTALES, N.M. - Mack E. Ainsworth, 44, of Rogers, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Skip Clark, Pat Boone and the Rev. Andy Hollinger officiating. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery. Mr. Ainsworth was born in Durango, Colo. He had been a lifetime resident of the Dora-Rogers community. He graduated from Dora High School in 1971. He was active in 4-H throughout his school career. He married Rhonda Coe in 1971 at Dora. Mr. Ainsworth served on the Dora School Board several years ago. He had been a member of a roping club for a number of years. He attended First Baptist Church of Dora. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Clay Ainsworth, Spence Ainsworth and Trey Ainsworth, all of the home; his mother, Bess "Betty'' Ainsworth of Portales; and a sister, Carol Ainsworth of Portales. The family requests memorials be to the New Mexico Baptist Children's Home. A family dinner will be at Word of Life Church on 18th Street after the burial.
