Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Elliott, Chaplain of the Arlington Police Department and the Rev. Truman Ledbetter, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc. Mrs. Waddell was born in Anderson County and came to Donley County in 1919. She married Othel Hammons Elliott in 1926 at Clarendon. He preceded her in death in 1983. She then married Vernice Charles "Bill" Waddell Sr. in 1987 at Clarendon. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Dean Brunson of Amarillo and Wilma Leffew of Clarendon; a son, Harold Elliott of Arlington; two stepsons, Jimmy Don Waddell and Vernice C. Waddell Jr. both of Amarillo; a sister, Pauline Jones of Clarendon; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Sammie D. Lindsey BORGER - Sammie D. Lindsey, 73, died Friday, March 7, 1997. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today in Minton Memorial Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. John's Catholic Church with the Monsignor Norbert Kuehler officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery of Groom. Arrangements are by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Lindsey was born in Bellevue. He had been a Borger resident for 50 years. He retired from Phillips Petroleum as a supervisor for research and development. He was a veteran of World War II., serving in the Marines. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and American Legion Post No. 671. He married Ann Looten in 1948 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Ladene Bliss of Borger, Chadette Cornelius of Houston and Pat Tietz of Bartlesville, Okla.; a brother, Bill Lindsey of Amarillo; six grandchildren. Glen R. Anderson MCLEAN - Glen R. Anderson, 67, died Saturday, March 8, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Brown's Memorial Chapel of Stinnett with the Rev. Billy Holland, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. He was a native of Chandler, Okla., and a McLean resident for eight years. He was a retired floor layer and a member of the Carpenter's Union. Survivors include his three sons, Doug Ownby of North Carolina, Jeff Ownby of Kentucky and Roy Ownby of Merced, Calif.; a sister, Norma Estes of Stinnett; and six grandchildren. Howard E. Brown BORGER - Howard E. Brown, 83, died Saturday, March 8, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Tom Harrison, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in El Reno Cemetery, El Reno, Okla. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors. Mr. Brown was a native of El Reno, Okla., and a Borger area resident for 57 years. He graduated from Oklahoma State University, where he received his degree. He married Genevieve Long in 1937 at Wichita Falls. He was a retired mechanical engineer with Phillips Petroleum. He was a member of First Christian Church and a 50year member of Isom Masonic Lodge No. 1355. He was also a member and past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 811. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kristi Stokes of Knoxville, Tenn., and Sylvia Smyth of Sugar Land; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. J.W. Pipkin SPEARMAN - J.W. Pipkin, 69, died Saturday, March 8, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Union Church, with the Rev. Jerry Pollard, pastor, and the Rev. George Bollinger, former minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Inc. of Spearman. Mr. Pipkin was born in Ochiltree County and had been a lifetime resident of the area. He was a farmer and rancher and a member of Union Church. He married Doris Jean Scroggs in 1949 at Spearman. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Vernon Pipkin, Roy Pipkin and Scotty Pipkin, all of Spearman; a daughter, Gay Pipkin of Guymon, Okla.; a brother, John Pipkin of Spearman; five sisters, Edith Smith of Spearman, Malolah Fullbright of Amarillo, Ouida Harbour and Betty Graves, both of Perryton, and Elma Miller of Woodward, Okla.; and 10 grandchildren. Martha Adams CHILDRESS - Martha Adams, 44, died Saturday, March 8, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Childress Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Haney, minister of Trinity Episcopal Church in Quanah, and the Rev. Irvin Stanke of Central Christian Church in Childress, officiating. Mrs. Adams was born in Dumas. She had lived in Childress for the past two years and had been a waitress. She also had been an apartment manager for 18 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Amarillo. She married Roger Adams in 1996 at Childress. Survivors include her husband; her mother, Anna Catherine Burchell of Childress; her father, R.L. Thomason of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Anita Thomason of Tyler; two brothers, Raymon Thomason and Mike Thomason, both of Amarillo; a half-sister, Amy Thomason of Colorado Springs; and a half-brother, Brian Lee Thomason of Amarillo. Leonard Williams DALHART - Leonard Williams, 87, died Saturday, March 8, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Everett Statler, pastor of Central United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home. Mr. Williams was born and raised in Mullen. He graduated from Mullen High School. He got his degree in electrical engineering from Tarleton State University and then served in the Army Signal Corps during World War II. He moved to Dalhart in 1944. He had been a member of the Rock Island Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He married Cora Whitney Hawkins in 1944 at Clayton, N.M. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1995. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Cheniel Hesse of Dalhart; two sisters, Mildred Wilkins of Mullen, and Wilma Blackburn of Florida; two brothers, Victor Williams of Goldthwaite and Ward Williams of Anna; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgrandchild. Miranda Rojas FRIONA - Miranda Rojas, 3, died Saturday, March 8, 1997. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Teresa's Catholic Church with the Rev. Ed Sweeney officiating. Miss Rojas was a lifetime resident of Friona. Survivors include her parents, Juan and Antonio Rojas; her grandparents, Jose and Rosario Torres of Friona and Francisco and Maria de Jesus Rojas of Durango, Mexico; a sister, Natalia Rojas of the home; three great-grandmothers, Micaela Enriquez of Durango, Antonia Mata of Juarez, Mexico, and Maria Barios of Friona. Amarillo Sampson Cook Sampson "Sam" Cook, 56, of Amarillo, died Sunday, March 9, 1997. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Chester O'Brien, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Cook was born in Fowler, Colo., but had lived most of his life in Amarillo. He was the owner of the Tascosa Barber Shop for 25 years and had worked as a barber for 40 years. He married Nora Faye Canada in 1959 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Tina Lemarr, and Kathy Cook, both of Amarillo; a brother, Donald Cook of Amarillo; three sisters, Mary Alice Savala of Dallas, Laverne Penbroke of Oregon and Shirley Williams of Amarillo; and three grandchildren. The family will be at 3120 7 S Trail at Lake Tanglewood. Laura Anthony Laura Anthony, 89, of 5113 Leland Dr., died Saturday, March 8, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel with Glen Walton of Bell Avenue Church of Christ officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis. Mrs. Anthony was born in Geary, Okla., and moved from Memphis to Amarillo in 1961. She had worked as a checker for Safeway and Furr's supermarkets and retired as a cafeteria worker at Amarillo High School in 1980. She was a member of North Amarillo Church of Christ. Mrs. Anthony was preceded in death by her husband, T.F. Anthony, in 1968. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Miller of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will be at 5113 Leland and requests memorials be to the American Heart Association or the High Plains Children's Home. Lanita Juanice Miles Lanita Juanice Miles, 36, of Amarillo, died Saturday, March 8, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Messer, pastor of South Lawn Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Holley Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Miles was born in Orlando, Fla. She had been in the Amarillo area for 13 years. She was a Baptist and a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Robert O. Miles of the home; four daughters, Sylvia Luke of Amarillo, Lourie Boydston of Canyon, and Kimberly Boydston and Lavetta Boydston of the home; her father, Robert Stewart of Jesup, Ga.; her mother, Juanice Cox of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two grandchildren. Oklahoma Everett Vernon Eisenman ERICK, Okla. - Everett Vernon Eisenman, 83, died Saturday, March 8, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in First Baptist Church at Erick, Okla., with the Rev. Jeff Avery officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Minco Evergreen Cemetery at Minco, Okla. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Eisenman was born in Minco, Okla. He lived in Amarillo for 34 years prior to moving to Erick, Okla. He married Nellie Wylie in 1954. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Snider Oil Co. in Amarillo. He was member of the First Baptist Church at Erick. He was preceded in death by his son, David Eisenman in 1992. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Wanda Overton of Perryton; five sons, Bobby Eisenman and Tommy Eisenman, both of Perryton, LeRoy Eisenman of Roswell, N.M., Jimmy Eisenman and Jessie Eisenman both of Richmond Hill; a stepdaughter, Dena Smith of Amarillo; three stepsons, Kenneth Allen of Perryton, Wayne Allen of Shamrock and Bob Allen of Vinson, Okla.; two sisters, Daisy Brown of Chickasha, Okla., and Gladys Thompson of Oklahoma City; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
