Services will be at 2 p.m. today in San Jose Catholic Church, with Deacon Jesie Guerrero, officiating. Burial will be in Saint Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mrs. Tamez was born in Asherton. She married Louis Tamez in 1953 at Asherton. She was a homemaker and a member of San Jose Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Alfonso Tamez of Houston, and Abelardo Tamez and Robert Tamez, both of Hereford; two daughters, Dora Chavez and Sande Romero, both of Hereford; one brother, Sequndo Bosquez of Hereford; four sisters, Elva Marry and Zulema Castillo, both of Herford, Olga Volado of Houston, and Ofelia Maldonado of Fort Collins, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Bertha Marie Britten PANHANDLE - Bertha Maria Britten, 84, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Saint Theresa Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Saint Theresa Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gary Sides and Monsignor M.J. Matthieson officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home Inc., 4100 S. Georgia St., Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Britten was born in the Saint Francis community in Potter County. She graduated from Saint Mary's Catholic School in 1933. She was an active volunteer for 4-H, becoming the first adult leader in Potter County and helping to start the Home Demonstration Club in Hansford County. She was a member of Amarillo Senior Citizens Arts and Crafts Department and was a homemaker involved in farming and ranching in Conway. She married A.J. "Slim'' Britten in 1941 at Saint Francis. She was a member of Saint Theresa Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband; three sons, John M. Britten of Claude, Fred Britten and Louis Britten, both of Panhandle; a brother, Clarence Wink of Amarillo; and seven grandchildren. Amarillo Juanita Harmon Juanita Harmon, 73, of Amarillo, died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Saint Stephens United Methodist Church with the Rev. She married Vern Harmon in 1941. She moved to Amarillo from Waynoka, Okla. in 1960. She was a homemaker and a member of Saint Stephens United Methodist Church. Mrs. Jones was born in Collingsworth County. She married C.M. Jones in 1967 at Richardson. She was a data processor for Southwestern Public Service Co. for 28 years before retiring in 1986. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Max Simpson in 1967, and her husband in 1996. Lamberson, 82, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with the Rev. Terry Tamplen of Kingswood United Methodist Church, officiating. Graveside services will be in Rowe Cemetery in Hedley. Mrs. Lamberson was born in Oklahoma. She married Tom S. Lamberson in 1933 at Hedley. She moved to Amarillo from Hedley in 1954. She was a homemaker and a former member of Wesley Drive United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Brown in 1984, a son, Jimmie Lamberson in 1992, and her husband in 1994. Survivors include two sons, Jon Lamberson of Lubbock and Thomas Scott Lamberson of Amarillo; three sisters, Joyce Brush of Stockton, Mo., Glora Klinger of Centerville, and Theresa Madden of Palestine, Texas; a brother, Max Webb of Amarillo; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. The family will be at 5006 Parker. B.S. McCoy B.S. "Bobbie'' McCoy, 88, of Amarillo, died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sanborn Baptist Church, with Rev. Ron Muller, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Mr. McCoy was born in Winters, Texas. He married Imogene Johnson in 1932 at Roxton, and they moved to Amarillo in 1943. He was retired from Santa Fe Railway where he had been a railroad car inspector for 28 years. He was a member of Senior Citizens Association, National Association of Retired and Veteran Railroad Employees, T.C.U. AFL/CIO, and Odd Fellow Lodge. He also was a member of Sanborn Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1996. Survivors include one daughter, Juanita Carroll of Amarillo; three sons, Wayne McCoy and Billy McCoy, both of Amarillo and Harold McCoy of Abilene; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The family will be at 3624 Neuces. Elsewhere Emmett Eugene Wassell, Sr. HOPE, ARK.- Emmett Eugene Wassell, Sr., 85, died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Brazzel Oakcrest Chapel Funeral Home in Hope, with the Rev. Davis Thompson, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope. Mr. Wassell was born in Higgins, Texas. He was a retired regional sales representative for International Harvester Co. He attended the University of Texas, served as an Army Air Corps captain in World War II and was a graduate of officer training school in Florida. He was a member of the American Legion and First United Methodist Church of Hope. Survivors include his wife, Mae Hankinson Wassell; one son, Emmett E. Wassell Jr. of Houston; two daughters, Barrie Bohnswager of Tulsa, Okla., and Bonnie Wassell Jefferson of Alexandria, Va.; two brothers, Lorraine C. Mrs. Adelman was born in Liberal, Kan. She graduated from Hooker High School in 1966. She attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University at Goodwell. She moved to Guymon from Perryton, Texas, in 1973. She was employed by Panhandle Telephone as a benefits coordinator and was a member of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Angela Black of Johnson, Kan.; a son, Shandy Adelman; her mother, Kathlyn Rowley of Hooker; a brother, Danny Rowley of Cottonwood, Ariz.; and two grandchildren. Merle Lee Hart GUYMON - Merle Lee Hart, 73, died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Grace Southern Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jimmy Pitson, pastor, and the Rev. Morris Pruitt, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. Arrangements are by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon. Mrs. Hart was born in Sweetwater. She married Don Hart in 1945 at Perryton, Texas. They moved from Hardesty to Guymon in 1957. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Hart Water Well Service. She was a member of Grace Southern Baptist Church and Panhandle Sam's Travel Club. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Sharon Faris of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Irene Wade of Guymon; two brothers, C.L. Brewer and Robert Brewer, both of Placerville, Calif.; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren. New Mexico Shelby Gill TUCUMCARI - Shelby Gill, 74, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Forrest Community Church, with Fred Canton and the Rev. Jim Withcer, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plain Cemetery. Arrangements by Dunn Funeral Home. Mr. Gill was born in Lamesa, Texas. He moved to Tucumcari in 1982. He served in the Army during World War II. He farmed and ranched in Quay County until 1962. He retired at Holloman Air Force Base in 1977 where he was a fireman. He was an active volunteer for 4-H, serving as a leader and superintendent of the state 4-H show and rodeo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Steve Gill of Sunray, Texas; five sisters, Corene O'Neal of Midland, Texas, Martha Shorles of Salinas, Calif., Nina Bryant and Patsy Watkins, both of Alamogordo, and Ina Mae Tillman of Capitan. The family requests memorials be to Forrest Community Church; Plain Cemetery Association; or Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center in Amarillo, Texas, in Memory of Shelby Gill.
