Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Booker Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Fox of Red River officiating. Burial will be in Calliham and Schroeder Hilltop Solace. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Perryton. Mr. Schroeder was born in Spearman. He had lived in Red River for 13 years, moving from Booker. He was a chef for a restaurant in Red River. Survivors include his father, Greg Schroeder of Red River; his mother, Denise Schroeder of Red River; a sister, Krayla Schroeder of Guymon, Okla.; grandparents, Ed and Pauline Schroeder of Perryton, Jo Ann Meller of Booker and Arthur Meller of Stinnett; and a greatgrandfather, Russell Sell of Booker. Mildred Kent Chisholm SUDAN - Mildred Kent Chisholm, 76, died Thursday, April 10, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Cliff Hargrove, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Sudan Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Chisholm was born in Loco, Okla., and had been a resident of the Sudan community since 1927. She graduated from Sudan High School in 1936. She was a secretary for the Sudan ISD for several years and a secretary for the Sudan Elevator for several years. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Paul Chisholm in 1941 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1985. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Kirby of Kingsland and Paula Ford of Sudan; a sister, Mayble Haragan of Sudan; four grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Sudan Ambulance Fund. Icy Mae George Beard PAMPA - Icy Mae George Beard, 89, died Thursday, April 10, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Rick Parnell, associate pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Beard was born in Ravia, Okla. She moved to Pampa in 1958 from Ada, Okla. She married Joseph Alonzo George in 1925 at Ada. He died in 1978. She later married Hulle Beard in 1983 at Pampa. He died in 1984. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, J.A. George of Dumas and G.B. "Don'' George of Hennessey, Okla.; a daughter, Mary Ann Harris of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Lorena Scruggs of Pampa; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a greatgreat-grandson. Teegan Charles Senter Tori Nicole Senter CLARENDON - Teegan Charles Senter and Tori Nicole Senter, twins of Chuck and Toyia Senter, died Monday, April 7, 1997. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Senter Family Cemetery at Clarendon with the Rev. Terry Tamplen, pastor of Kingswood United Methodist Church in Amarillo, officiating. Arrangements were by Robertson Funeral Directors Inc. The twins were born Monday in Amarillo. Survivors include their parents; their grandparents, Troy and Betty Wharton of Dalhart, and J.P. Senter of Denver City; and their great-grandparents, Evelyn Koger of Lamesa, Callie Senter of Grandview and Grace Wharton of Dalhart. The family requests memorials be to the Methodist Children's Home. Martha Nell Hill HEDLEY - Martha Nell Hill, 65, died Thursday, April 10, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Howard, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors Inc. of Clarendon. Mrs. Hill was born in Donley County and had been a Donley County resident most of her life. She married John J. Hill Jr. in 1948 at Hedley. She was employed by the Hedley Senior Citizens Association and was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Carole Ward of Hedley, Loretta Hall of Clarendon and Sherrie McDougal of Lubbock; two sons, Johnny Hill of Clarendon and Jeff Hill of Whitharral; her mother, Nina King of Van Buren, Ark.; two sisters, June Schell of Tulsa, Okla., and Pat Crowden of Van Buren; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. June Corine Hughes PLAINVIEW - June Corine Moreman Hughes, 73, died Wednesday, April 9, 1997. Services will be a 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger Foote, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in McAdoo Cemetery by WoodDunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Hughes was born in Hall County. She moved to Silverton in 1957 and to Plainview in 1965. She married Rupert Hughes in 1946 at Memphis. She was a bookkeeper for Bearings and Industrial Supply for 17 years before retiring in 1986. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Hughes. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kathy Moody of San Antonio; a son, Ronny Hughes of Plainview; two brothers, Jack Moreman of Lubbock and Bob Moreman of Pasco, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Garvise E. Claxton TULIA - Garvise E. Claxton, 57, died Thursday, April 10, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Rose Hill Cemetery with Ronald Huckeby, lay minister from Tulia, officiating. Arrangements are by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Claxton was born in El Paso. He moved to Tulia from El Paso. He was a truck driver for Standard Meat Co. of Fort Worth before retiring. He served in the Air Force. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Survivors include two daughters, Melody Lane Claxton and Belinda Gail Claxton; and a sister, Sharon Dahl of Fort Worth. Wilbur E. Blair MEMPHIS - Wilbur E. Blair, 84, died Wednesday, April 9, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Childress Cemetery at Childress with the Rev. Kerry Wood, minister of music at First Baptist Church in Childress, officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home of Childress. Mr. Blair was born in Hugo, Okla. He farmed in the Cee Vee / Tell area from the late 1920s until 1955. He lived in Muleshoe for 25 years and had lived in Memphis for the past eight years. He was a disabled veteran of World War II and had received two Purple Hearts. He married Vera Faye Mullins in 1942 at Childress. Survivors include his wife. The family will receive visitors from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Amarillo Irene Hale Irene Hale, 85, of Amarillo, died Sunday, April 6, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Laurel Land Cemetery at Fort Worth with the Rev. Mike Marshall and Miss Hale's nephew, the Rev. Harry L. Mayes, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home Inc., 4100 S. Georgia St. Miss Hale was born in Stephenville and raised in Fort Worth. She moved to Amarillo about four years ago. She was a civilian clerk at Carswell Air force Base during World War II. She retired after 20 years. She was a longtime member of the American Business Women's Association and First United Methodist Church, both of Fort Worth. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Jimmie (Beulah P.) Meek of Amarillo. The Rev. Andres M. Delgado The Rev. Andres M. Delgado, 97, a former Amarillo resident, died Wednesday, April 9, 1997, in Albuquerque, N.M. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Christian Church with Dr. John Bridwell and Dr. Douglas Skinner officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Rev. Delgado was born in Mexico and married Hermila Ramirez in 1930. He was pastor of the Mexican Christian Church in Amarillo for 18 years before retiring in 1965. After retiring, he served as an elder at First Christian Church in Amarillo. He also served as migrant minister and counselor in the state of Michigan for 10 years. He was active in civic affairs, especially with the Hispanic community of Amarillo and helping precincts during the elections. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Celia D. Chandler and Hattie L. Hunt, both of of Columbus, Ohio, and Naomi Delgado and Rose Marie Gonzalez, both of of Albuquerque; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Shirley Lanford Shirley Lanford, 87, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 9, 1997. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Titus of Wesley Drive United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Memorial Lawn by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Lanford was born in Normangee and had been a lifelong Amarillo resident. She retired as a drapery seamstress. She was a member of Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church and Church Women United. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.L. Lanford, in 1979. Survivors include a son, Lane Lanford of Seguin; two daughters, Beth Collins of Buda and Libby Kay of Plano; a brother, Wade Hill Jr. of Canyon; two sisters, Lois Crowley of Naples, Fla., and Lee Simpson of Memphis; nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Newbrough, 97, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 9, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Brent Adams of Southwest Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1010 W. Ninth Ave. Mr. Newbrough was born in Palo Pinto County. He was a veteran of World War II. He taught public speaking to the cadets at Norwich University in Vermont during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVera McNay. Survivors include three nieces, Wilma Johnston of Amarillo, Alene Coffman of Big Spring and Margie Newbrough of Big Foot. The body will not be available for viewing. Lydia Constancio Lydia Constancio, 64, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 9, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. John Valdez officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Constancio was born in Coleman. She moved to Amarillo in 1968 from San Angelo. She was married to Richard Constancio for 28 years. She had been a homemaker most of her life. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Lewis Lopez of West Virginia, Gilbert Samaniego of San Angelo, and Richard Constancio Jr. and Joe Constancio, both of Amarillo; four daughters, Teresa Samaniego, Rose Mary Hernandez, Toni Constancio and Estella Ramirez, all of Amarillo; three brothers, Pete Samaniego and Victor Samaniego, both of San Angelo, and Robert Samaniego of Evans, Colo.; four sisters, Adeline Culler of Salina, Calif., Mary Juazes and Molly Delgado, both of Amarillo, and Hortencia Smith of North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Canyon Erbie Hazel Powell Erbie Hazel Powell, 82, of Canyon, died Wednesday, April 9, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in First Baptist Church of Happy with the Rev. Lonny Poe, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Happy Cemetery by Holley Funeral Home Inc. Mrs. Powell was born in Maypearl. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Happy and the Happy Homemakers Club. She married E.C. "Jack'' Powell in 1932. They ran the '87 Cafe at Happy. He died in 1979. Survivors include a daughter, Rosa Mae Rowe of Canyon; a son, Jerry Powell of Punta Gorda, Fla.; a sister, Margaret Cole of Point; three brothers, Harold Woolsey of Canyon, Kenneth Woolsey of Mattsville and Donald Woolsey of Hornbeck, La.; nine grandchildren; 25 greatgrandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren. Elsewhere Gordon L. Douglass LUBBOCK - Gordon L. Douglass, 91, died Tuesday, April 8, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church, Ford Memorial Chapel, with Dr. D.L. Lowrie and the Rev. John Ballard officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park by Sanders Funeral Home. Mr. Douglas was born in Arlington and moved in 1912 to Denton, where he worked for his father in the restaurant business. He attended North Texas State College at Denton and moved to Dallas in 1938. He was an accountant in Dallas until 1941 when he moved to Lubbock. He was associated with M.L. Shepard Accounting Firm and later became an independent accountant. He retired in 1975. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the Downtown Bible Class and the First Class of First Baptist Church. He married Ruby Lee Stockard in 1940. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janet Carole Fincher of Canyon; a son, Gordon Stockard Douglass of Denver; and two granddaughters. The family suggests memorials be to the Cross-Over Fund at First Baptist Church.
