Mr. Rodriquez was born in Cameron and had been a Hereford resident most of his life. He was a Veteran and a member of San Jose Catholic Church. Survivors include a brother, Francisco Rodriguez. Susie P. Mancha TULIA - Susie P. Mancha, 63, died Wednesday, May 7, 1997. Prayer services will be at 7 p.m. today at Wallace Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Church of the Holy Spirit in Tulia with the Rev. John Salazar officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Mancha was born and raised in Pearsall and had lived in Uvalde. She married Alvino Mancha in 1950 at Tulia. She was a homemaker and a member of Church of the Holy Spirit. She married Willie "Bill'' Boyd in 1920 at McLean. He died in 1981. She moved to Spearman from McLean in 1994. Survivors include a son, Granville Boyd of Spearman; a daughter, Nadine Wimberly of Whitesboro; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Jones was born in Powers, Colo. She married Leo Murrel Jones in 1937 at Plainview. He died in 1989. She moved to Plainview in 1980. In 1995, she moved to Hot Springs, Ark., from San Antonio. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Hale Center. Survivors include a daughter, Rhetta Heiser of Hot Springs; a son, Alfred Ross Jones of Dallas; a sister, Georgia Wallace of Phoenix; five brothers, Ben Caudle of Amarillo, Otas Caudle of Phoenix, W.J. Transito Murillo Flores DUMAS - Transito Murillo Flores, 89, died Friday, May 9, 1997. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dumas. Mr. Flores was born in Rancho La Playa, Zacatecas, Mexico. He had lived in Dumas for 40 years. He married Camerina Hernandez in 1956 in Mexico. He had worked for several years at Chicago Steel Mill and retired from Santa Fe Railway after 23 years as a trackman. He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Maria Flores Cortes and Lucy Maria Cortes, both of Dumas; a son, Sid Flores of Dumas; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She married Claude Carol Ticer in 1955 at Childress. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Ann Morgan in 1956. Elsie Emma Bell PLAINVIEW - Elsie Emma Bell, 92, died Thursday, May 8, 1997. Bell; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren. Verl L. Miller HEREFORD - Verl L. Miller, 84, died Friday, May 9, 1997. Ms. Miller was born in Ryan, Okla. She moved to Deaf Smith County from Floyd County in 1978. She was a homemaker and a member of Park Avenue Church of Christ. Survivors include a sister, Verona Jack of Hereford; and a brother, W.L. Miller of Lubbock. Ava Hawkins LOCKNEY - Ava Hawkins, 107, of Quitaque died Friday, May 9, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the First United Methodist Church of Quitaque with the Rev. Steve Ulrey, pastor, and the Rev. Lynn Dill of the Church of God in Denver City officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery by MooreRose-White Funeral Home in Lockney. Mrs. Hawkins was born in Snyder and attended Elkins schools. She married Bill Ware in 1906 in Kent County. He preceded her in death. She married Pierce Hawkins in 1936 at Quitaque. He died in 1962. She worked as a clerk at Patterson Dry Good Store in Quitaque. She also was preceded in death by a son, Oliver Keith Ware, and a daughter Iva Ernestine Ware. Survivors include a nephew, Sid McFall of Quitaque; and a niece, Ava Gay Dill of Brownfield. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. The family will be at the home of Verona and Bertram Jack in Hereford. add to area William Jefferson Felter PAMPA - William Jefferson Felter, 81, died Friday, May 9, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Jacob S. Clemmons, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Felter was born in Roff, Okla. He grew up in the Northeastern New Mexico area. He graduated from Tucumcari High School around 1933. He served in the Army Air Corps in this country and the European Theater during World War II. Following the War, he attended the University of New Mexico, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in science, majoring in chemistry. He married Anna Catherine Gasparotti in 1947 at Santa Fe, N.M. He was active in the Boy Scouts for 46 years, serving in many capacities and receiving his Wood Badge in 1967, the Silver Beaver in 1982, and the James E. West Fellowship in 1995. He went to work for the Celanese Plant in Pampa as a chemist in 1954, retiring in 1980, after 26 years of service. He was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church of Pampa. He was preceded in death by a son, William John Felter. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Elizabeth Mary Felter Rainey of Pampa, and Ruth Felter Bearden of Talking Rock, Ga.; a brother, Edwin L. Felter of Sant Fe, N.M.; and seven grandchildren. Jimmy Martin Vickers FLOYDADA - Jimmy Martin Vickers, 67, died Saturday, May 10, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lane Reeding with Hospice of the Plains officiating. Burial will be at Floydada Cemetery. Arrangements are by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mr. Vickers was born in Roosevelt, Okla. He attended school at the Baker Community School. He worked in the grain industry and retired from Producers Cooperative Elevator in 1982. He was a former member of the Odd Fellows Organization, and was a member of the First Baptist Church. He married Clara Butler in 1989 at Floydada. She grew up in Friona and was raised by her father and grandmother, Susan Katherine Smith, after her mother died. She received her master's degree in medical technology from the University of Michigan. She was a medical technician in Friona for many years, and in Andrews, where she retired. She was a member of Union Congregational Church, Texas Society of Medical Technology and American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Survivors include two sisters, Helen Atkins of Rockwall, and Mary Katherine Cox of Irving. New Mexico Paul D. Coker RUIDOSO - Paul D. Coker, 60, died Friday, May 9, 1997. He had lived in Ruidoso for the last five years, moving from Muleshoe, Texas. He was a technician for Cable Television. He served in the Army from 1959 until 1962. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Muleshoe. He was a former member of Phillipsburg Lions Club in Phillipsburg, Kan. He married Margaret Rhodes in 1957 at Friona. Clara Florence PORTALES - Clara Florence, 94, died Friday, May 9, 1997 at Farwell, Texas. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Portales Cemetery with the Rev. Dick Ross officiating. Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales, Inc. Ms. Florence was born in Lubbock County, Texas. She graduated from Eastern New Mexico University. She was a teacher for many years. She taught second and third grades in several communities including Portales, Gallup, Belen, Farwell, Texas, and Bledsoe, Texas. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Portales. For a number of years, she was a member of the Portales Business and Professional Women's Club. Survivors include a niece, Sylvia L. Burch of Amarillo; two nephews, Truman S. Florence of New Braunfels, Texas, and Philip C. Florence of Amarillo. Hester Littleton PORTALES - Hester Littleton, 87, a former Perryton, Texas, resident, died Saturday, May 10, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Ochiltree County Cemetery at Perryton. Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales, Inc. Mrs. Littleton was born in Oklahoma City. Her family moved when she was a girl to the Oklahoma Panhandle and settled just a few miles from Perryton. She married Onas G. "Shorty'' Littleton in 1930 at Perryton. He died in 1981. Mrs. Littleton began her career at the Perryton National Bank as a bookkeeper and worked up to assistant cashier before her retirement in 1984. She had been a member of Jefferson Street Church of Christ in Perryton. After moving to Portales in 1984 to be near her daughter, she joined Third and Kilgore Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Richard Glenn Littleton of Island Falls, Maine; a daughter, Shirley Gail Ferguson of Portales; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Stella Matlock ERICK - Stella Matlock, 80, died Saturday, May 10, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Erick Church of Christ with Cecil Burch and Durward Weatherford officiating. Burial will be at Buffalo Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Mrs. Matlock was born in Mayfield. She was a member of Erick Church of Christ. She married Orville H. Matlock in 1940. They established their home in the Mayfield community where they had been engaged in a farming operation. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Dale Matlock and Harold Matlock, both of Amarillo; a brother, Ed LeGrand of Stillwater; a sister, Yvonne Reed of Santa Fe, N.M.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Amarillo Joe Williamson Joe Williamson, 76, of Amarillo, died Thursday, May 8, 1997. She retired in 1970. She married Jesse Sanders in 1924 at Amarillo. He died in 1977. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Houston of Ceres, Calif., and Peggy Bolton of Amarillo; a son, James Sanders of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Bural was born in Cleburne. She attended Clarendon College and graduated from West Texas Normal School. She married Herbert Bural in 1926 at Clarendon. He died in 1955. She moved to Amarillo in 1936 and founded the Amarillo School for the Mentally Retarded, where she taught school until the public schools integrated special needs children. She also worked for Eat Rite Health Food Store for 17 years. She was a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church, where she played the piano for her Sunday school class for 60 years. Survivors include three sons, Lee Bural and Gene Bural, both of Amarillo, and Lynn Bural of Colleyville; a daughter, Helen Bural of Amarillo; a brother, J.W. Bandy of Seagraves; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services were Saturday in Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Granbury. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth by Wiley Funeral Home. Mr. Teesdale was active with Kiwanis Club Key Clubs and had worked as a Regional Counselor for the Texas-Oklahoma Key Clubs and Circle K Clubs. After selling his oil and gas business in 1986, he moved to Granbury. Survivors include his wife, Mary Teesdale; a daughter, Sharan of Honolulu; a son, Chris G. Teesdale of Dallas; and three grandchildren. Lane Ray Warren SAN ANTONIO - Lane Ray Warren, 32, died Thursday, May 8, 1997. Mr. Warren was born in Dimmitt. He graduated from Hereford High School in 1983. Margie Janett Austin Montgomery DALLAS - Margie Janett Austin Montgomery, 44, died Sunday, April 20, 1997. Services were Friday, April 25, at True Love Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas with the Rev. Charles L. Taylor of Step of Faith Christian Center officiating. Services were also Saturday, April 26th, at First Baptist Church in Memphis. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery at Memphis. Arrangements were by Lomax Funeral Home of Dallas. Ms. Austin was born in Memphis. She accepted Christ at an early age at Ephesians Church of God In Christ at Memphis. She was educated in the Memphis School District. She graduated from Memphis High School. She received an associate's degree from Clarendon College. She relocated to Dallas, and was employed by Dallas Morning News for several years. She later was employed by the city of Dallas Police Department for 16 years, and was promoted to her present position as supervisor. She was a member of Step of Faith Christian Center. She married Alfred Gregory Montgomery. Survivors include a daughter, Aleisha Lanett Montgomery of Dallas; her mother, Odessa Austin of Memphis; three brothers, Kenneth Austin of Amarillo, Travis Austin of Denton, and Willie Earl McDonald of Dallas; six sisters, Cleola Johnson of Memphis, Zetta Austin and Robbie Hervey, both of Amarillo, Etta Austin and Vernell Scott, both of Dallas, and Jewel Austin of Clarendon. Lucille Blevins BOWIE - Lucille Blevins, 91, a former Quail resident, died Friday, May 9, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Quail Cemetery at Quail. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington. Mrs. Blevins was born in Quail. She attended Quail schools. She was a homemaker. She was an active member of the Church of Christ. She married Carroll Blevins in 1922 at Quail. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974, and a son, John Blevins, in 1931. Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Holton of Childress; a brother, Howard Blevins of Waukomis, Okla.; eight grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Quail Cemetery or Westview Boys Home.
