Burial will be in Claude Cemetery at Claude. Mrs. Jones was born in Collingsworth County. She married C.M. Jones in 1967 at Richardson. She was a data processor for Southwestern Public Service Co. for 28 years before retiring in 1986. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Max Simpson, in 1967; and her husband in 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Lynda Corbin of Richardson; two sons, Larry Simpson of Houston and Allen Matthews of Bedford; two sisters, Gwen Wallace and Marilyn Hooten, both of Amarillo; a brother, Norman Allen of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Roma McDowell Crain Roma McDowell Crain, 86, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in N.S. Mrs. Crain was born in Moore County and was educated at Goodnight. She was a former resident of Austin. She married John C. Crain in 1938 at Pampa. She was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron of Travis Chapter No. 472 in Austin and as an officer of the Grand Chapter of Texas. He moved to Amarillo in 1950 from Corpus Christi. He worked for Gilvin & Terrill for 16 years before retiring in 1966. He was a member of St. Laurence Cathedral. Cross, 87, of Amarillo, died Monday, Nov. 10, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Rob Lackey, pastoral care director at Ware Memorial Care Center, officiating. The burial will be private. Mrs. Cross was born in Jamestown and moved to Amarillo in 1930. She was self-employed in the real estate business. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the Railroad Trainmen Auxiliary and the Woodmen of the World. She was preceded in death by two husbands, A.M. Dickey and Leroy W. Cross. Survivors include a daughter, Quincy Durr of Fritch; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She married Guy M. Loden in 1941 at Tucumcari, N.M. Survivors include her husband; two sons, David Loden and Andy Loden, both of Amarillo; three sisters, Trunell Boggs, Linda Lee and Edith Gill, all of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will be at 302 S. Forest St. W.J. Richey W.J. "Dub" Richey, 74, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Marshall & Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Hillsboro with the Rev. Dave Gentry of Canton officiating. Burial will be in Ridgepark Cemetery at Hillsboro. He attended Southern Methodist University and Baptist Theological Seminary and became a preacher. He was a Mason in Plainview. He had served in the Marine Corps. He married Bobbie Rae in 1942 at Hillsboro. They moved to Amarillo from Freemont, Calif., in 1988. Mr. Richey was a member of Chaparral Hills Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; two sons, James Allen Richey of Mart and Thomas Ray Richey of San Jose, Calif.; a daughter, Wylanta Jane Keeling of Amarillo; two sisters, Dorothy Allen Scott of Kansas City, Mo., and Bobbie Frances Hatch of Memphis; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mrs. Cooper was born in Clinton. She attended Phillips University in Enid, Okla. She was a self-employed piano teacher. She moved to Pampa in 1952. She was a member of First Christian Church of Pampa. She had been a Sunday school teacher for the mentally challenged for many years. She was a member and past president of the Piano Teachers' Association. Mrs. Cooper moved to Tomball four years ago. She married William Myrl Cooper in 1932 at Shawnee, Okla. He died in 1991. Survivors include a son, William Paul Cooper of Houston; a daughter, Mary Ellen Borgeson of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Alzheimer's Association. Area Wayne Wilson MORTON - Wayne "Shorty" Wilson, 76, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Key of Plainview officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. (MST) in Portales Cemetery at Portales, N.M. Mr. Wilson was born in Guymon, Okla. He moved to Morton in 1989 from Portales. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a cook. He married Tressie McGee in 1956 at Portales. Survivors include his wife; and a brother, Sidney Wilson of Portales. M.W. Dumcum PERRYTON - M.W. "Wes" Dumcum, 86, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Church of Christ with Terry Danley and Robert Moore officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Dumcum was born in Greensburg, Kan. He moved to the Perryton area 41 years ago from Great Bend, Kan. He was a truck driver and a plant operator. He worked for Halliburton for 25 years and for B.J. Services for 20 years. Mr. Dumcum married Edith Douthit in 1939 at Great Bend. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roger Dumcum of Perryton and Robert Dumcum of Houston; two brothers, Clarence Dumcum of Hugoton, Kan., and Bill Dumcum of Wichita, Kan.; a sister, Beulah Carter of Hugoton; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Jim Witt PERRYTON - Jim Witt, 65, of Farnsworth, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Ulrey officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Witt was born in Perryton and had been a lifetime resident of the Perryton area. He graduated from Perryton High School in 1951. He was employed as a pumper. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He married his wife, Betty, in 1956 at Perryton. She died in 1994. Survivors include a son, David Witt of Spearman; a daughter, Teri Davis of Plainview; a stepson, Frank Miller of Carthage, Mo.; his mother, Ruth Witt of Perryton; and three grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Lois Lee Bishop BORGER - Lois Lee Bishop, 91, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997, in Elkhart, Kan. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with Richard Kasko, minister of the Church of Christ, officiating. Graveside services will be Wednesday in Moore Cemetery at Arlington. Mrs. Bishop was born in Havana, Ark. She moved to Borger in 1929 and to Baytown in 1956. She moved back to Borger in 1972 and then to Snyder in 1974. She lived in Snyder until 1994, when she moved back to Borger. She was a member of Pruitt Street Church of Christ in Baytown. She also was a member of the Snyder 20th Century Club and the docents with the Scurry County Museum. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a past Worthy Matron of the Borger chapter. She also was a mother adviser with the Rainbow Girls. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Tom Lee, in 1969; and her second husband, Casey Bishop, in 1976. Survivors include a son, Joe Lee of Borger; a sister, Geneva French of Highland, Calif.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Manuela Santos Garcia HEREFORD - Manuela Santos Garcia, 82, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Rix Funeral Directors Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in San Jose Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Mrs. Garcia was born in Lampazo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She had lived in Hereford for 27 years. She was a homemaker and a member of San Jose Catholic Church. She married Fructuoso Garcia in 1935. Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Maria Luisa and Beatrice Garcia, both of Hereford, Maria A. Perez of Progeso and Guadalupe Aldape of Sharon; five sons, Guillermo Garcia of Laredo, and Jose F. Garcia, Albino Garcia, Manuel Garcia and Fructuoso Garcia, all of Hereford; 26 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Katherine F. Davidson SHAMROCK - Katherine F. Davidson, 80, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Cole, former pastor, and the Rev. John Dorn, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Davidson had lived in Wheeler County most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church and the UMW. She married George Edwin Davidson in 1937 at Sayre, Okla. He died in 1996. Survivors include a son, Steve Davidson of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Georgana Nafzger of Olton, Okla.; and two grandchildren. Fleeta Avo Robinson PADUCAH - Fleeta Avo Robinson, 93, died Monday, Nov. 10, 1997. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Garden of Memories Cemetery with the Rev. Shannon Gresham officiating. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home. Mrs. Robinson was born in Paducah and had been a lifelong Paducah resident. She worked as a waitress for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.M. "Bud" Robinson. Survivors include a sister, Viola Kemp of Lumberton. Oklahoma Eddie Lee Countryman GUYMON, Okla. - Eddie Lee Countryman, 76, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. Mr. Countryman was born in Calumet, Okla. He served in the Marines and later in the Army during World War II. He married Bertie Brownell in 1944 at Enid. They made their home in El Paso, Texas. After his military career, they moved to Fairview, Okla. They moved to Guymon in 1947. Mr. Countryman worked for Nash Bros. Automotive for 38 years, ending his career as the service manager. He was a volunteer firefighter for 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion and the Association of Firefighters. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Roberta Jean. Survivors include his wife; his stepmother, Faith Countryman of Fresno, Calif.; a son, Robert Countryman of Houston; four daughters, Donna Lee Goodson of Little Rock, Ark., Peggy Joyce Sargent of Grandview, Mo., Ruth Elaine Richardson of Wheatland, Mo., and Patricia Jean Shaw of Amarillo; a brother, Clifford Countryman of Caldwell, Kan.; a half brother, Jerry Countryman of San Jose, Calif.; a half sister, Marie of Fresno; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Mary Jacoby GAGE, Okla. - Mary Jacoby, 81, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ed Eason officiating. Burial will be in Gage Memorial Cemetery by Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Shattuck. Mrs. Jacoby was born on a farm north of Gage. When she was 6 years old, she moved to Gage and attended school there, graduating in 1934. She married Otis Calvin Jacoby in 1938 at Gage. They made their home on the Baxter family homestead until purchasing their own farm in 1944. In 1957, they made their home on the Jacoby family farm, where they have lived since. Mr. Jacoby died in 1984. Mrs. Jacoby was employed at the Ellis County ASCS office in Arnett. She then worked at Cowden's Garment Factory in Woodward. She worked for 16 years at Cresswell's IGA in Gage. She also was the head cook for the Gage public schools for 13 years. After retiring in 1988, she cooked for the Gage Rotary Club until August. She was a member of United Methodist Church, the Home Demonstration Club and the Rainbow Club. Survivors include three sons, Otis Jacoby Jr. of North Little Rock, Ark., Sam Jacoby of Pampa, Texas, and Kenny Jacoby of Gage; two sisters, Luella Stahlman and Katy Wolfington, both of Gage; eight grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the United Methodist Church of Gage. New Mexico Ada C. Aschbacher CLAYTON, N.M. - Ada C. Aschbacher, 86, died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997. Services were at 11 a.m. Monday in Hass Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Carlsbad Cemetery at Carlsbad. Mrs. Aschbacher was born in Allen, Kan. She graduated from Alamosa High School at Alamosa, Colo., in 1927. She taught in a one-room school house near Center, Colo., while attending college in the summers. She married Bennie Carl Aschbacher in 1929 at Raton. He died in 1987. She also was preceded in death by a son, Arlon David Aschbacher, in 1972. Mrs. Aschbacher had been a resident of Sedan since 1993, moving from Carlsbad, where she had lived since 1950. Survivors include two sons, Arthur Leon Aschbacher of Sedan and Tommie C. Aschbacher of Diamond, Mo.; a sister, Pearl Bland of Washington; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
