Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Hamlin Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Heacock and the Rev. Beth Harrington officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Terrace Cemetery by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis, N.M. Mrs. Lovelace was born in Anadarko, Okla. She married Woodrow Lovelace in 1942 at Roswell, N.M. She moved to Farwell 55 years ago from Friona. She helped her husband with the family business, Lovelace Oil Co., until retiring in 1987. During World War II, she worked for the District Court Clerk of Farwell. Mrs. Lovelace was a member of Hamlin Memorial United Methodist Church and sang in the choir there. She also served on several committees in the church. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Diane Mayes of Humble; two sisters, Jean Blackburn of Albuquerque, N.M., and Peggy Gikas of Farwell; and a granddaughter. The family suggests memorials be to the Methodist Children's Home or a favorite charity. Onita Palmer SHAMROCK - Onita Palmer, 79, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Shamrock Cemetery with the Rev. Kris Riggs, pastor of Eleventh Street Baptist Church, and the Rev. Don Conner of Shamrock officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Palmer was born in Deport. She married Jessie L. Palmer in 1933 at Hugo, Okla. She had lived in the Shamrock area since 1948. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Jo Palmer. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Rex Palmer of Plains, Kan., Conny Palmer of Shamrock and John Palmer of Dallas; a daughter, Nekita Palmer of Dallas; two sisters, Goldie Griffin of Lubbock and Earlene McFatridge of Paris, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Kenneth E. Coates SPEARMAN - Kenneth E. Coates, 88, died Wednesday, June 11, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Waka Cemetery at Waka with the Rev. Martin Gauby, pastor of Waka Church of the Brethren, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Coates was born in Warrensburg, Mo. He had lived in the Spearman area for four years, moving from Sulphur Springs, Ark. He married Marie Newingham in 1941 at Liberal, Kan. Mr. Coates was a carpenter and a truck driver before retiring. He was preceded in death by a son, Pete Coates, in 1995. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Kenneth Wayne Coates of Fort Worth, and Dean Coates and Galen Coates, both of Spearman; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Leonard Click HEREFORD - Leonard Click, 94, died Wednesday, June 11, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Gililland-Watson Funeral Home Rose Chapel with the Rev. J.L. Bozeman, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Mr. Click was born in Donie. He moved to Deaf Smith County in 1920 from White Deer. He was a farmer and a Baptist. He married Evelyn "Donnie'' Skaggs in 1926 at White Deer. She died in 1969. He married Elizabeth "Lisa'' Golling in 1972 at Las Vegas. She died in 1995. Survivors include a stepson, Elov Valdez of Hereford; a stepdaughter, Marina Houk of Oklahoma City; and a granddaughter. Lillie Lavinder MORTON - Lillie Lavinder, 83, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gordon Renshaw, pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Lavinder was born in Mountain View, Okla. She married Charlie Albert Lavinder in 1928 at Sanger. He died in 1989. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Louvita Williams, in 1979. She had lived in the Morton area since 1933, moving from Durant, Okla. She was a homemaker and a member of First Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include four sons, Cal Lavinder and Bobby Lee Lavinder, both of Irving, William Lavinder of Morton and Leonard Lavinder of Lubbock; two daughters, Edna Baker of Morton and Imojean Woods of Dallas; a sister, Nola Cauvey of Rindale, Calif.; 35 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. Nadine F. Sullivan BORGER - Nadine F. Sullivan, 72, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Bible Baptist Church. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors. Mrs. Sullivan was born in Celeste and had been a resident of the Borger area for 56 years. She retired as a plant manager secretary at Phillips Rubber Pilot Plant. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Rebekah Lodge No. 286, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Jane Phillips Sorority. She also was a member of the Collectors Club and the Desk and Derrick Club. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon L. Wilson, in 1965; and her second husband, J.E. Sullivan, in 1981. Survivors include a son, Jerry Wilson of DeSoto; two daughters, Verna Spelce of Borger and Janine Clark of Amarillo; and five grandchildren. Martha Bailey Flemons PADUCAH - Martha Bailey Flemons, 78, died Monday, June 9, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Paducah First Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger Weeks, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in Paducah, officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home. Mrs. Flemons was born in Malone and had been a longtime resident of the Paducah area. She married Wallace Roy Flemons in 1939 at Crosbyton. He died in 1963. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Jneal Green, in 1987. Mrs. Flemons was a retired housekeeper and homemaker. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and served as an usher there. Survivors include three sons, Jimmy D. Flemons of Fort Worth, Willie Mack Flemons of Tucson, Ariz., and Lender Earl Flemons of Paducah; four daughters, Dorothy Flemons, Jackie Brisco and Betty Lou Flemons, all of Paducah, and Martha Ann Simmons of Tucson, Ariz.; 27 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Dickens was born in Mount Pleasant, Ark. She had lived in the Spearman area for 30 years, moving from Madera, Calif. She was employed in the produce department of Thriftway Grocery in Spearman from 1970 until retiring in 1995. She was a member of Union Church. Survivors include a daughter, Carole Dickens of Spearman; and a niece, Becky Yost of Omega, Okla. Eunice L. Land CLARENDON - Eunice L. Land, 93, died Wednesday, June 11, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Martin Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryan Knowles, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors Inc. Mrs. Land was born in Indian Territory and had been a resident of Donley County most of her life. She married "Pete'' Alton Land in 1924 at Memphis. He died in 1990. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a former longtime member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was a member of Martin Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Billy Jack Land of Clarendon; three sisters, Lavois McGaugh and Inez Minyard, both of Littlefield, and Letha Mulder of Floydada; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren. Amarillo Sidney Joe Ward Sidney Joe Ward, 27, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rockwell Road Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Richardson, pastor, officiating. He graduated from River Road High School in 1988. He was employed by Allied Pump Co. He was a member of Rockwell Road Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Deidra Tillman of Amarillo; a daughter, Madison Ward of Amarillo; his father, Glen Ward of Amarillo; two brothers, Rodney Ward and Jerome Ward, both of Amarillo; and grandfather, Joe Fugate of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be to the Butch Ward Fund c / o Rockwell Road Baptist Church. Frank Sandoval Frank Sandoval, 23, of 82 N. Louisiana St., died Tuesday, June 10, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Victory Church with the Rev. David Brown of the church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Sandoval was born in Amarillo and graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1993. He had been an assistant manager for Sonic Drive Inn at 7100 S. Bell St., for three years. He married Brenda Lee Garcia in 1991 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Brittany Lee Nichole Sandoval of the home; two sons, Timothy Logan Sandoval and Brandon Glen Sandoval, both of the home; his parents, Glenn and Cilvea Lynam, and Jessie Sandoval Sr., all of Amarillo; and three brothers, Jessie Sandoval Jr., Miguel Sandoval and Rocky Gonzales, all of Amarillo. Gerald Graves Gerald "Jerry'' Graves, 59, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, June 11, 1997. There will be no services. Arrangements and cremation are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Graves was born in Concordia, Kan. He was a refinery pipe fitter and instrument technician for many years. He had been a real estate agent for Ken Thompson Real Estate Agency and a member of the Amarillo Association of Realtors. He was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include three stepsons, Daniel Thrasher, Terry Bussey and Kevin Bussey, all of Amarillo; two brothers, Thomas Graves and Jim Graves, both of Grand Junction, Colo.; two sisters, Patti Kott of Denver and Cindi Rummel of Atwood, Kan.; his mother, Hazel Graves of Atwood; and seven grandchildren. Nila Alonso Perez Nila Alonso Perez, 46, of 4030 Neuches Ave., died Wednesday, June 11, 1997. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. today in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Johnnie Benningfield officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Perez was born in Santa Clara, Cuba. She moved to Amarillo 17 years ago from Santa Clara. She married Miguel L. Perez in 1969 at Cuba. She was a homemaker and a member of the Placentera Spanish Congregation of Jehova's Witnesses. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Ana Perez, Arelys Perez and Agueda V. Perez, all of Amarillo; three sons, Abdiel Perez, Eliezer Perez and Joel Perez, all of Amarillo; her father, Ricardo Alonso of Cuba; her adopted parents, Vernon and Doris Blain of Amarillo; and a grandson. New Mexico Timothy Wayne Martin PORTALES, N.M. - Timothy "Tim'' Wayne Martin, 38, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997, at Lubbock, Texas. Services will be at 2 p.m. MDT Friday in Central Baptist Church at Clovis with the Rev. J.R. "Dick'' Ross, chaplain emeritus of the Clovis Fire Department, officiating. Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. MDT Saturday in Monte Vista Cemetery at Alamogordo. Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Inc. Mr. Martin was born in Welch, W.Va. He lived in Charlotte, N.C., for many years and graduated from South Meclenborg High School in 1978. Later that year, he enlisted in the Navy and served until 1984. After being discharged, he moved to Alamogordo. While living there, he worked in construction and was a volunteer firefighter for the Boles Acres Fire Department. In 1994, he moved to Portales and began working as a firefighter and EMT at the Clovis Fire Department. Survivors include his mother, Neicha Chaney of Portales; a brother, Brian Martin of Portales; a sister, Lisa Eileen Shanks of El Dorado, Ark.; and grandparents, Ruby Young of Boles Acres and Harvey Woodson Martin of Dublin, Va. Louie Talbot Evers CLOVIS, N.M. - Louie Talbot Evers, 79, died Monday, June 9, 1997. Services will be at 7 p.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom officiating. Burial will be in National Cemetery at Santa Fe. Mr. Evers was born in Doddridge, Ark. He moved to Clovis in 1962 after retiring from the Air Force. He was manager of Cannon Air Force Base Federal Credit Union before retiring in 1982. He was a member of Clovis Masonic Lodge No. 40 AF&AM, the York Rite Masons, the Shriners, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3280, the Elks Lodge, Clovis Evening Lions, Men's Bible Class, AFA and Air Force Sergeants Association. Lucy Tawney MELROSE, N.M. - Lucy Tawney, 58, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church by the Rev. Carlos Chavez. Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis. Mrs. Tawney was born in La Luz. She married Frank Tawney Sr. in 1959 at Carrizozo. They moved to Clovis in 1969 and to Melrose in 1991. Before retiring, Mrs. Tawney was a civilian employee for 25 years at Cannon Air Force Base. She was an engine manager for the 27th CRS. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Catherine's Mission. Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Rosemary Lyden of Fort Sumter, S.C., Brenda Wells of Melrose, Sandra Morales of Las Cruces and Teresa M. Tawney of the home; two sons, Frank Tawney Jr. of Cannon Air Force Base and Daniel J. Tawney of Lackland Air Force Base in Texas; her mother, Kica Pacheco of Carrizozo; a brother, David Pacheco of Carrizozo; five sisters, Juanita Gallegos of Carrizozo, Josephine Silva of Alamogordo, Cuca Chavez of Socorro, Antonia Martinez of Clovis and Tillie Noble of Jasper, Texas; and 11 grandchildren. Arrangements are by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. Mrs. Casaus was born in Amarillo. She moved to Guymon in 1969 from Dalhart, Texas. While living in Amarillo, she was a restaurant cook and waitress. In Guymon she was a housekeeper. She attended First Baptist Church. Her first husband, Ben William McCarty Sr., preceded her in death. She married Thomas Joseph Casaus Jr. He also preceded her in death. Survivors include five daughters, Lenda Seymore of Copperas Cove, Texas, Brenda Trotter of Austin, Texas, Diana Combs of Amarillo, Bobbie Roden of Wagoner and Teresa Wynn of Lubbock, Texas; six sons, Ben McCarty Jr., Terry McCarty and Richard Casaus, all of Amarillo, Ira McCarty Sr. of Guymon, Thomas Casaus of Wagoner and Butch Casaus of Pueblo, Colo.; a sister, Bobbie Handley of Amarillo; two brothers, Tompie Otis Bunch Jr. of Alabama and Tom Bunch of Tennessee; 38 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Hazel Bowen TEXHOMA, Okla. - Hazel Bowen, 86, died Sunday, June 9, 1997. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Sunday in First Christian Church with Mike Dumler officiating. Burial will be in Texhoma Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home. Mrs. Bowen was born in Texhoma. She married John H. Bowen in 1928 at Stratford, Texas. She had been a homemaker all her life. Survivors include a son, Montie J. Bowen of Wichita, Kan.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Elsewhere Dean Campbell AMHERST - Dean Campbell, 82, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997. Mrs. Campbell was born in Big Spring and had lived in Amherst since 1925. She married Homer Campbell in 1937 at Muleshoe. She was a homemaker and a member of Amherst Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband; a sister, Ruby Crabb of Amarillo; and a brother, Gaston Brown of Farmington, N.M. Visitation will be at Hammons Funeral Home Chapel. Junior McAnally EDMONSON - Junior McAnally, 72, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Methodist Church of Kress with the Rev. Larry Reed-Farris, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens at Plainview by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. McAnally was born in Southland. He grew up and attended school in Post. He joined the Army in 1942 and served in the Pacific. He was discharged in 1945. After being discharged, he farmed at Dimmitt. He married Frances Jones in 1952 at Floydada. At the time of his marriage he was farming in Providence. He farmed there until moving to Edmonson in 1955. He retired from farming in 1987. Mr. McAnally was a member of Methodist Church of Kress. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Vicki Street of Belton and Judy Springer of Kress; a brother of Monroe McAnally of Aiken; a sister, Margaret Miller of Aiken; and four grandchildren.
