Services will be at 4 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jesse Hodge, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mrs. Sanders was born and raised in Cottonwood, Callahan County. She moved to Whitesboro in 1913, to Marietta, Okla. in 1928, to Wellington in 1941, and to Swisher County in 1956. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a housewife. She married William Boyett Sanders in 1915 in Sadler. He died in 1977. She was preceded in death by a son, W.C. Sanders in 1986. Survivors include five daughters, Muriel Fincher and Jesse Orr, both of Tulia, Billie Barfield and Jean Hedrick, both of Amarillo and Pauline Hoyler of Dimmitt; five sons, A.T. Sanders of Martha, Okla., and J.L. Sanders of Marlow, Okla., Eddie Sanders and Eldon Sanders, both of Levelland and James Sanders of Tulia; 35 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Tulia Cemetery Association. Francisca Luna Perez PLAINVIEW - Francisca Luna Perez, 69, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday in Lemons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Elbert A. Fadallan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery. Mrs. Perez was born in Gonzales. She grew up in Robstown and moved to Plainview in 1950. She married Martiriano Perez in 1945 at Robstown. She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Juan Perez, in 1994. Survivors include her husband; six daughters, Bertha Hinojosa of Lubbock, Anastacia Rodriquez of Plainview, Carmen Garza and Maria Rodriquez, both of Blooming Prairie, Minn., Rosa Washington of Midland and Juana Tarango of Owatonna, Minn.; four sons, Martiriano Perez Jr. of Tulia, Tony Perez of Northfield, Minn., and Mario Perez and Joe Perez, both of Plainview; four brothers, Felipe Luna and Isabel Luna, both of Lubbock, Pascul Luna of Sacramento, Calif., and Andrew Luna of Greeley, Colo.; a sister, Catarina Velasquez of Corpus Christi; 45 grandchildren; and 40 greatgrandchildren. Bruce Coleman HEREFORD - Bruce Coleman, 69, died Friday, Dec. 12, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Church of the Nazarene with Ted Taylor, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mr. Coleman was a farmer and a former county commissioner. He was a member of Church of the Nazarene. He married Norma Jo Busby. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jeffery B. Coleman in 1973 and Gary Coleman in November. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cindy Lemons of Ruidoso, N.M.; a brother, James Ray Coleman of Mesa, Ariz.; a sister, Georgia Nell Porter of Amarillo; and four grandchildren. Sallie Ethel Parker BORGER - Sallie Ethel Parker, 92, died Friday, Dec. 12, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel in Borger with the Rev. John Givens, pastor of First Christian Church of Fritch, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa. Mrs. Parker was born in Indian Territory. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Parker, in 1979. She also was preceded in death by a son, Ken Parker, in 1979; and by a daughter, Virginia Bridwell, in 1988. Survivors include two sons, Otis Parker of Fritch and J.E. Parker of Oklahoma City; 16 grandchildren; and several greatgrandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. The family will be at 116 Michael Drive in Fritch. Ruby Glasgow WELLINGTON - Ruby Glasgow, 76, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Derwin Comer, minister of music and education, and Tom Wilkins officiating. Burial will be in North Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Glasgow was born in Wellington and graduated from Wellington High School in 1938. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married J.N. Glasgow in 1957 at Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Steve C. Smith. Survivors include a brother, Robert Patrick of Wellington; a sister, Virginia Thomas of Wellington; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Wellington Cemetery Association. Viola Marie Cox Cooper WHEELER - Viola Marie Cox Cooper, 70, died Friday, Dec. 12, 1997. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Lindley, pastor, and Bill Morrison, minister of the Wheeler Church of Christ, officiating. Graveside services will be Thursday in Colusa Cemetery at Colusa, Calif. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home. Mrs. Cooper was born in Riverside, Calif. She was a graduate of Colusa High School and the GMAC Business School. She was a bookkeeper. She worked for Buck and Willoh Garage in Colusa and Cooper Union Station and Garage in Leggett, Calif. She married Jess "Ted" Cooper Sr. in 1945 at Marysville, Calif. She moved with her husband to Texas in 1973. They moved to Wheeler in 1976. Mrs. Cooper worked for Beef Cattle Co. in Wheeler and operated the Western Gift Store. She was a 50-year member of the Rebekah Lodge. She also was a member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West and First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Sharon Horton of Wheeler, Karen Miranda of Colusa, Pam Deardorff of Willow Creek, Calif., and Denise Sledge of Yukon, Okla.; a son, Jesse T. Cooper of Wheeler; two sisters, Helen Bumpus of Pleasant Grove, Calif., and Harriet Moore of Sacramento, Calif.; a brother, Melvin "Happy" Cox of Colusa; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Roger Dale Sherman Roger Dale Sherman, 48, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road, with the Rev. Don Lane of City Church officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Sherman was born in Decatur and had lived in Amarillo for 22 years. He married his wife, Janene, in 1972 at Gonzales. He served as a guard at the Clements and Neal units of the state prison for 71/2 years. He served in the Marines and received the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge M-14. Mr. Sherman was a member of City Church. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Michelle Sherman and Melissa Sherman, both of Amarillo; his mother, Lillie Sherman of Decatur; and two grandchildren. New Mexico Helen Mexico Martin Bowers CLOVIS, N.M. - Helen Mexico Martin Bowers, 89, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today in Texico Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Brown officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Bowers was born in New Mexico Territory at Clovis and was a lifelong resident of Curry County. She married Anson S. Bowers in 1939 on the family farm south of Clovis. She attended Fairfield School, which later was the same school where she began her teaching career in 1931. She later taught seventh and eighth grade at Center School for three years. She was a longtime member of Texico Baptist Church and the WMU at Texico Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Chris Walters of Clovis; two sisters, Bertha Snell of Clovis and Margaret White of Texico; a foster son, Kenneth Bowers of South Lake Tahoe, Nev.; and three grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Portales Baptist Children's Home or Clovis Community College. Maxine Doitchinoff CLAYTON, N.M. - Maxine Doitchinoff, 85, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Andy Husted, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Directors Inc. Mrs. Doitchinoff was born in Pawhuska, Okla. She had been a Union County resident most of her life. She graduated from Clayton High School in 1930 and attended Oklahoma Women's College in Chickasha, Okla. She was a bookkeeper and served as deputy county clerk and deputy treasurer in Union County. She also had been active with the agriculture census for the past 30 years. She married Doitchin Doitchinoff in 1945 at Clayton. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Jacquelyn Neuharth of Clayton; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Woodard of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Clayton Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 187, Clayton, N.M. 88415. Oklahoma Evelyn Adams GUYMON, Okla. - Evelyn Adams, 75, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mrs. Adams was born in Perkins. She married Donald E. Adams in 1945 at Cambridge, Mass. In 1953, they made their home in Guymon, where they established Adam's Hardfacing. Mr. Adams died in 1987. Mrs. Adams was a member of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Joellyn Rich of Los Angeles; a son, Larry Don Adams of Springfield, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Elsewhere Guadalupe Lara ELGIN - Guadalupe Lara, 62, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Parker Lane United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Memorial Park in Austin by WilkeClay-Fish Funeral Home of Austin. Mrs. Lara and her husband served in the ministry of the Rio Grande Conference of the United Methodist Church for 35 years. They recently retired. Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Esteban Lara; three children, Sonia Browder, Helen Simpson and Steve Lara Jr., all of Elgin; four sisters, Catarina Torres of Plainview, Marcelina Bela and Paula Mojica, both of Lubbock, and Oralia Schubert of Belleville, Ill.; four brothers, Milton Arredondo, Pete Arredondo, Joe Arredondo and Enrique Arredondo, all of Lubbock; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. A prayer service will follow. The family requests memorials be to a fund for a chapel that the Rev. Lara is building.
