Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Howard F.M. Childers, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Murphy was born in Fleetwood, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo for more than 60 years. She was a cashier for Sears, Pantex and the telephone company before retiring. She was a member of the Christian church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rogie R. Murphy, in 1980. Survivors include two sisters, Ozella Dunn of Greely, Colo., and Polly Dunn of Burns, Ore. The family requests memorials be to the Will Rogers Range Riders, 6210 W. 9th Ave., Amarillo, Texas 79106; or a favorite charity. M. Shane Hopson M. Shane Hopson, 25, of 1617 Dahlia St., died Saturday, April 12, 1997. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in BlackburnShaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road, with Windell Taylor, chaplain at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, officiating. Graveside military services will be in Llano East Cemetery by the Marine Corps Reserves. Mr. Hopson was born in Amarillo and had been a lifelong resident of Amarillo. He was a 1993 graduate of Palo Duro High School. He served in the Marine Corps from 1993 to 1997. He received the Nation Defense Service Ribbon, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the Southwest Asia Service Medal. He married Dawn Wright in 1996 at California. He had been a heavy equipment operator. Survivors include his wife; his father, Mike Hopson of Paris, Texas; his mother, Deborah Pace Brattin of Wyandotte, Okla.; two sisters, April Hopson of Wyandotte and Melody Hopson of Paris; and grandparents, Helen Hopson of the home, and George and Beverly Pace of Wyandotte. The family will be at 1617 Dahlia St. Elsewhere B.N. Elliott STEPHENVILLE - B.N. "Pete'' Elliott, 85, a former Amarillo resident, died Thursday, April 10, 1997. Cremation was in Fort Worth. Mr. Elliott was born in Broken Arrow, Okla. He worked for Moorlane Co. in Amarillo from 1950 to 1962. He had been a member of the American Business Men's Club, the Amarillo Gun Club and the National Rifle Association. He had been married to "Toots'' Elliott for 50 years. Survivors include his wife; two stepchildren, Shirley Neese and Howard Jamieson; a brother, Dorsey Elliott of Idaho; a sister, Sadie Brown of Overland Park, Kan.; four grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers be to High Plains Children's Home in Amarillo. Gary L. Robinson Jr. LITCHFIELD, Ill. - Gary L. Robinson Jr., 34, a former Amarillo resident, died Saturday, April 12, 1997. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today in Plummer Funeral Home. Mr. Robinson was born in Jacksonville. He attended schools in Illinois. He lived in Amarillo for several years and was a waiter. Survivors include his father, Gary L. Robinson Sr. of Carlinville; his mother, Virginia Tuttle Robinson of Litchfield; a brother, James "Jimmy'' Robinson of Carlinville; and two sisters, Cathy Morgan of Litchfield and Debra "Debbie'' Rolland of Waco, Texas. There will be no visitation. The family suggests memorials be to the Springfield AIDS Resource Center at Springfield. Miguel Saucedo KRESS - Miguel Saucedo, 41, died Sunday, April 13, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Lemons Funeral Funeral Memorial Chapel at Plainview. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at Plainview with the Rev. Ben Kasteel, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Kress Cemetery at Kress. Mr. Saucedo was born in Cedral San Luis, Potosi, Mexico. He married Ofelia Diaz in 1979 at Cedral San Luis. He grew up in Mexico and moved to Kress in 1971. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview. He worked for Andrus Greenhouse in Kress. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Dalila Saucedo and Brenda Saucedo, both of Kress; a son, Miguel Saucedo Jr. of Kress; his parents, Felix and Dominga Saucedo of Mexico; two brothers, Gil Saucedo and Felix Saucedo, both of Dallas; and five sisters, Adeliada Zarat of Kress, Damiana Saucedo of Mexico, Maria DeLaLuz Cortez of Blanco, and Maria Eva Saucedo and Tomasa Castillo, both of Dallas. Area Audra Castle Quisenberry QUANAH - Audra Castle Quisenberry, 94, of Robert Lee, formerly of Quanah, died Sunday, April 13, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Price-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clint Young officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Quisenberry was born in Boliver, Mo. She moved to Quanah at an early age and lived there until 1992, when she entered the nursing home at Robert Lee. She had been a member of First Baptist Church of Quanah. She married Jess Quisenberry in 1921 at Quanah. He died in 1975. She also was preceded in death by three sons, Clebert, Walter and an infant. Survivors include two sons, J.E. Quisenberry of Robert Lee and Bobby Ray Quisenberry of Vienna, Va.; two sisters, Laura B. Quisenberry of Quanah and Blanch Harwell of Abilene; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Menola Opal Kunka FOLLETT - Menola Opal Kunka, 84, died Saturday, April 12, 1997, near Slapout, Okla. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Clay Wells officiating. Burial will be in Follett's Fairmont Cemetery by Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck, Okla. Mrs. Kunka married Henry Kunka in 1938. During their 51 years of marriage, she helped him establish and maintain a farm, operate a machine shop and develop a water well drilling business. He preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Howard Kunka of Houston and Ray Kunka of Woodward, Okla.; a brother, Pat McCaslin of Stigler, Okla.; and a sister, Laverne Hammers of Mount Home, Ark. Vera Belle Higgins HEREFORD - Vera Belle Higgins, 85, died Saturday, April 12, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in West Park Cemetery with Dr. Tom Fuller officiating. Arrangements are by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mrs. Higgins was born in Paris, Texas. She lived in Texas in the 1930s and 1940s. She moved to Colorado and then to Oregon. She was a loan officer for Federal Land Bank in Texas and Colorado. She was a homemaker and a member of Powell Butte Christian Church. She married George T. Higgins in 1951 at Clayton, N.M. He died in 1988. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Viola Blackshear Calvert FLOMOT - Viola Blackshear Calvert, 90, died Saturday, April 12, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Flomot Cemetery with Tim Lane and Earl McDonough, Church of Christ ministers from Plainview, officiating. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home of Matador. Mrs. Calvert was born in Flomot and had been a lifelong resident of the Flomot community. She married Ottie Dewey Calvert in 1928 at Roaring Springs. He died in 1966. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include four sons, Doyle Calvert of Flomot, O.D. "Red'' Calvert of Augusta, Ga., Ray Calvert of Turkey and George D. Calvert of Quitaque; two daughters, Barbara Bush of Gorman and Mary Ann Browning of Rising Star; a brother, Beryl Blackshear of Forestville, Calif.; a sister, Ora Mott of Oakdale, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The family requests memorials be to the Quitaque EMS, the Flomot Cemetery Association or the Flomot Community Center. Charles W. Bohannan DUMAS - Charles W. Bohannan, 84, died Monday, April 14, 1997. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Bible Baptist Church with Jerry Clark, pastor, the Rev. Clyde Spain, evangelist from Decatur, and the Rev. Richard Weightman, Sunday school teacher at Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Bohannan was born in Stigler, Okla., and had been a Dumas resident since 1950. He retired from Diamond Shamrock in 1977 after 25 years as a pipefitter. He was a custodian at Dumas High School for 13 years until retiring in 1990. He married Lida Willis in 1940 at Colbert, Okla. He was a member, trustee and head usher at Bible Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Clyde W. Bohannan, in 1996. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Della Fortenberry of Del Rio; two brothers, Louis Bohannan of Houston and Donald Bohannan of Colbert; four sisters, Josephine Sanders of Dallas, Ida Fay Sampson of Savoy, Doris Sleeman of Euless and Billie Rice of Denison; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The family will be at 200 Chelsea. They request memorials be to a favorite charity. Bonnie Sanders SHAMROCK - Bonnie Sanders, 70, died Sunday, April 13, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Church of Christ with Cottie Tarbet of Shamrock officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Sanders was born in Collingsworth County and had lived in the Shamrock area all of her life. She graduated from Samnorwood High School. She married Charles E. Sanders in 1950 at Shamrock. She worked at the AVC Variety Store and First National Bank in Shamrock for many years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband; a son, Chad Sanders of Amarillo; two daughters, Carol Fields of Pampa and Cathy Ramsey of Shamrock; two sisters, Roberta Gabbard of Oklahoma City and Frieda Delwarte of Chatsworth, Calif.; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. The family requests memorials be to the Shamrock Church of Christ building fund or the Don and Sybil Harrington Foundation. Barbara Worley PADUCAH - Barbara Worley, 78, died Monday, April 14, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Garden of Memories Cemetery with the Rev. Sam Crosby, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home. Mrs. Worley was born in McKinney and moved to Cottle County in 1919. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bowden. She married W.O. "Jack'' Worley in 1954 at Paducah. He died in 1990. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Sue Bowden, in 1945. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include a son, Bennie Mayo of Paducah; a daughter, Joyce Palmer of Abilene; a brother, Bennie Thomas of Paducah; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
