Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road, with Dr. Charles Jones of Second Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Boyd was born in Wayside. She graduated from Petit High School in Levelland in 1941. She served with the WACC from 1944 to 1945. She moved to Amarillo in 1945. She married Jesse Murrel "Bill'' Boyd in 1949. He died in 1989. Mrs. Boyd retired as a bookkeeper for A to Z Tire and Battery in 1978. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. She had lived in Wayside for 14 years. Survivors include two sons, Charlie M. Boyd of Blue Eye, Mo., and Michael Boyd of Amarillo; three daughters, Karon M. Patterson of Olive Branch, Miss., Eula Mae Rains of Amarillo and Gaylyne M. Manns of Happy; a stepdaughter, Olivia R. Swan of Burleson; a brother, Jack Sutton of Wayside; special friends, Ben and Wanda Rains of Amarillo; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family will be at 4823 Buck Drive. Curtis Wayne Robertson, 68, of Amarillo, died Thursday, June 12, 1997. Services were Saturday in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Gary Kellison of Bethel Assembly and the Rev. Mazie Richards of Christ Life Fellowship officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Rev. Robertson was born in Olney and moved to Amarillo in 1967. He was in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He married Deloris Haney in 1968 at Panhandle. He became an ordained minister in 1983. He was a moderator at Bethel Assembly from 1992 to 1996. He also was well-known for his music ministry. Survivors include his wife; six sons, Mike Robertson of Southlake, Jessie Haney of Fort Worth, Edward Haney, Frankie Haney and Gary Allen Haney, all of Amarillo, and Johnny Joe Haney of Weatherford; seven daughters, Sharon Bata of Iowa Park, Vickie Diedrick of Grapevine, Doris Perry and Ruthie Hooper, both of Fort Worth, Debbie Tatum of Los Angeles, and Sandra Allred and Rhonda Hefner, both of Amarillo; three sisters, Novella Lee and Joy Graham, both of Olney, and Shirley McWhorter of Mesquite; two brothers, Namon Robertson and Clayton Robertson, both of Olney; 37 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East. Mr. Coker was born in Sinton and moved to Amarillo in 1941. He married Mayme Earley in 1929 at Hobart, Okla. He graduated from Central State Teachers College in Edmond, Okla., with a degree in mathematics. He played football and participated in track and field while attending CSTC. He was drafted by the government to teach welding at Amarillo College during World War II. He owned and operated Coker's Weldrite Welding Service for more than 40 years before selling it in 1984. Mr. Coker was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ruth Taylor of Amarillo and Yvonne Ward of Irving; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Philip Ray Rehil Philip Ray Rehil, 28, of Amarillo, died Thursday, June 12, 1997. Cremation is by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Rehil was born in Flagstaff, Ariz. He came to Amarillo in 1989, moving from Arizona. He graduated from Carl Hayden High School in Phoenix. Survivors include his parents, Philip A. and Winiford Rehil of Amarillo; and a brother, Donald Syphers of Hooks. R.L. Hobbs R.L. Hobbs, 58, of Amarillo, died Friday, June 13, 1997. Willie Fe Hester CLOVIS - Willie Fe Hester, 79, died Thursday, June 12, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church, with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom and Dr. Tom Rush officiating. Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Hester was born in Hermleigh, Texas. She had been a longtime resident of Clovis. While attending Texas State College for Women, she met and married Walter B. Hester. He died in 1969. She was an active participant in many facets of Clovis history. She grew up on the family ranch at Running Water Draw. She worked as a physical therapist for many years. During that time, she was also an active participant in local politics, serving as Democratic Chairwoman of Curry and Roosevelt Counties. She was an artist. Her paintings, mostly with a Southwestern theme, were exhibited and sold at galleries in Texas and New Mexico. During the 1970s and 1980s she worked in the Curry County Treasurer's Office as a deputy county treasurer. She then retired. Survivors include two daughters, Margarete Lopez of Santa Fe, and Dixie Seifert of St. Louis, Mo.; two sons, Don Hester of San Carlos, Calif., and Mike Hester of North Richland Hills, Texas; and 10 grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the funeral home today, where the family will receive visitors from 2 until 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the cancer association of your choice. Corrine J. Griffin CLOVIS - Corrine J. Griffin, 94, died Friday, June 13, 1997. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Marquez Cemetery at Marquez. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home. Mrs. Griffin was born in Leon County, Texas. She was a school teacher in Concord, Texas. She had been a Clovis resident since 1989. She was a member of First Christian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, both in Marlin, Texas. She married Noah Anderson Griffin in 1927. He died in 1963. Survivors include a son, Jim Griffin of Clovis; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Area Paul Cumberledge LEFORS - Paul "Bud'' Cumberledge, 83, died Thursday, June 12, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lewis Ellis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Heights Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Cumberledge was born in Salem, W.Va., and had been a resident of Lefors since 1929. He married Alma Holley in 1939 at Lefors. He worked at Cities Service as an operator for 17 years and at Coltexo for six years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Paula Jo Eubanks of Hereford and Karen Sue Reeves of Lefors; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Ludie O'Hair Alexander QUANAH - Ludie O'Hair "Chic'' Alexander, 87, died Thursday, June 12, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Quanah Memorial Park with the Rev. Doug Johannsen of Lawton, Okla., officiating. Arrangements are by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Alexander was born in Marysville and raised in Medicine Mound. She had been a lifetime resident of Hardeman County. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William O'Hair Jr., in 1959. She married D.L. Alexander in 1963 at Quanah. He died in 1975. Mrs. Alexander worked for the post office for many years as a rural route carrier. She also was a bookkeeper for Hicky Chevrolet. She was a member of World Wide Church of God. Survivors include a son, John Barlow of Casa Grande, Ariz.; and a sister, Maud Young of Muleshoe. The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers be to Texas Boys Ranch. Inez Phares BORGER - Inez Phares, 84, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Henson and the Rev. Mike Smith officiating. She was a former longtime member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.L. "Jake'' Phares, in 1986. Survivors include three sons, Jerrell Phares, Gary Phares and Billy Phares, all of Borger; a daughter, Glenda Henson of Chula Vista, Calif.; two brothers, Ray Smith of Shreveport, La., and Jack Smith of Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Mr. Martinez was born in Mexico. He had lived in Childress for 30 years. He farmed for Richards Farms in Paducah for 43 years. He married Simona Ornelas in 1933 at Electra. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Martinez, in 1994. Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Roberta Rico of Childress, Lupita Cadena and Maria Garza, both of Frederick, Okla., Chonita Arellano of Big Spring, Juanita Hernandez and Rita Gonzales, both of Amarillo; three sons, Antonio Martinez of Joshua, Guadalupe Martinez Jr. of Dalhart, and Raymond Martinez of Dallas; 34 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and 10 great-greatgrandchildren. Kenneth L. Pickering DUMAS - Kenneth L. "Pick'' Pickering, 67, died Friday, June 13, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Calvary Baptist Church with Milton Pax, deacon, officiating. Burial will be at Dumas Cemetery. Arrangement are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Pickering was born in Mangum, Okla. He had been a resident of Dumas since 1973. He was a self-employed plumber. He was an Army veteran, serving in the Korean conflict. He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He married Wanda Jean Gaillard in 1954 at Clayton, N.M. She died in 1989. Survivors include two daughters, Kendra D. Akridge of Dumas, and Kimila J. Brazel of Amarillo; a foster son, James Richard Baker of Amarillo; two brothers, Tommy D. Pickering of Las Cruces, N.M., and Glenn Dean Pickering of Wichita Falls; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. He married Venita Cook in 1950 at Clovis, N.M. He retired as a heavy equipment operator for the Navy in 1975. He then moved to Roaring Springs. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jerry Don Sedgwick of Claude; a daughter, LaVonda Sue McGee of Summerville; a sister, Pearl Patten of Roaring Springs; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mary Ruth Whitecotton MORTON - Mary Ruth Whitecotton, 79, died Friday, June 13, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Assembly of God with the Rev. Henry Russell of Assembly of God in Floydada, and the Rev. Jimmy Beggs of Assembly of God in Morton, officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Terral Cemetery at Terral, Okla., with the Rev. Charles Parker of Assembly of God, officiating. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home of Morton. Mrs. Whitecotton was born in Jefferson County, Okla. She was an eighthgrade school teacher. She taught math in Morton for 35 years in Neely Ward School, five miles west of Morton, now consolidated into Morton. She also taught for seven years in Jefferson County, Okla. She had retired in 1988. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. She married Ernest Whitecotton in 1951 at Nocona. They had lived in Morton since 1951, moving from Jefferson County, Okla. Survivors include her husband; and several nieces and nephews. Shaun Lee Jacobs FAIRVIEW, N.C. - Shaun Lee Jacobs, 31, a former Clovis, N.M., resident, died Sunday, May 25, 1997, in Brevard, N.C. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Central Baptist Church in Clovis, N.M. Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis. Mr. Jacobs was born in Clovis, N.M. He graduated from Clovis High School in 1983 and graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a bachelor's in computer information systems. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Ashleigh Jacobs of Clovis, and Sarah Jacobs of North Carolina; a son, Harley Jacobs of North Carolina; his parents, Jim and Monene Jacobs of Clovis; a sister, LeEdna "Loki'' Jacobs of Clovis; and his grandmother, Lela Jacobs of Clovis.
