Graveside services with military honors, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Garden of Memories Cemetery with the Rev. Butch Horton, youth and senior adult minister of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home of Paducah. Mr. Casarez was born in Pettus. He had lived in Plainview and Paducah, prior to moving to Austin a year ago. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist Church. He was a member of the American Pool Players Association and an Army veteran. He married Refugia Ramirez in 1954 at Beeville. She died in 1992. Survivors include six sons, Jose Thomas Casarez of Arlington, Miguel Benjamin Casarez and Andres Casarez, both of Gosnell, Ark., Jose Guadalupe Casarez of Plainview, David Casarez and David Anthony Casarez, both of Austin; three daughters, Maria Refugia Flores of Grand Prairie, Judy Ann Castenada and Micaela Juarez, both of Austin; three brothers, Chon Casarez of El Paso, Cleofas Casarez of Lawton, Okla., and Nicolas Casarez of Corpus Christi; five sisters, Claudina Garcia and Eglentina Casarez, both Bakersfield, Calif., Lala Duran of Taft, Lupe Pita Sato of Odem, and Maria Aguirre of Sinton; and 14 grandchildren. Herman Estes BOVINA - Herman Estes, 84, died Sunday, June 15, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church at Bovina, with the Rev. Gary Morgan, pastor, officiating. Additional services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church at Rockwood, with the Rev. Doug Estes of Fort Worth, officiating. Burial will be Wednesday at Rockwood Cemetery in Rockwood. Arrangements are by EllisBlackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mr. Estes was born in Rockwood. He had lived in Bovina since 1948, moving from Coleman. He retired from the Texas Highway Department. He had worked with the department for 28 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Bovina. He married Edna Shamblin in 1935 at Fort Worth. She died in 1996. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Estes of Mission; a daughter, Suezy Smith of Bovina; a brother, Vernon Estes of Las Vegas; a sister, Mattie Martin of Arlington, Va.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Buster B. Brooks CANADIAN - Buster B. Brooks, 91, died Sunday, June 15, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Christian Church with Roger Smelser, senior minister, and the Rev. Jimmy A. Robinson, pastor of Abundant Life Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will be at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors of Canadian. Mr. Brooks was born in Collin County. He worked on several farms and ranches in the Canadian area, and for a time he drove a short-haul freight truck. He worked for High Plains Gas Co. from 1959 until 1970. He was a member of First Christian Church. He married Winnie Mosteller in 1925 at Caddo, Okla. They moved to Hemphill County in 1928 from Caddo, Okla. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1997 and a son, Tommy "Sam'' Brooks, in 1973. Survivors include six daughters, Daphine Traywick of Abbeville, La., Connie Hallson of Hay, Wash., Vona Benge of Canadian, Zelda Roberson of Muleshoe, Kay Taylor of Hobart, Okla., and Paulette King of Canadian; a son, Wayne Brooks of Amarillo; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Burial will be at Wheeler Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler. Mrs. Brown was born in Wheeler. She was a graduate of Shamrock High School. She was a member of First Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir and a former member of the Thursday Review Club. She married R.J. Holt Jr. in 1947 at Wheeler. He died in 1969. She moved to Dallas in 1975 and worked for MBank for 10 years. She then married Charles R. Brown in 1985, and returned to Wheeler. Survivors include her husband; a son, Mike Holt of Fort Worth; a daughter, Carol Scott of Houston; two stepsons, David Brown of Barnwell, S.C., and Miles Farnsworth of Albuquerque, N.M.; two stepdaughters, Sally Fincher of Amarillo, and Stacey McQueen of Wheeler; two sisters, Joyce Raby of Waco, and her twin, Maidel Browder of Houston; and four grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to First Methodist Church or the Wheeler Church of Christ. Amarillo Sandra Mouser Sandra Mouser, 56, of Amarillo, died Saturday, June 14, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Blackburn-Shaw Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road, with the Rev. David Malone of Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Crestview Cemetery in Wichita Falls. Mrs. Mouser was born in Wichita Falls. She retired from the VA Hospital, where she had worked for six years. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi for 25 years and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Debra L. Scott of Amarillo; three sons, Larry Walker Jr. of Garland, Clayton Walker of Amarillo, and Kevin Walker of Forrest, Ill.; two sisters, Glenda Pruett of Everman, and Barbara Mann of Wichita Falls; and 10 grandchildren. The family will be at 1110 N. Lincoln St. Curtis A. Phillips I Curtis A. Phillips I, 85, of Amarillo, died Saturday, June 14, 1997. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in White Deer Cemetery. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc. of Clarendon. Mr. Phillips was born in Wellington. He had lived in Canyon for six years, Borger for 23 years, and Clarendon for 14 years before moving to Amarillo seven years ago. He married Margaret Hazel Hearn in 1945 at Clarendon. She died in 1989. He had worked as a custodian at West Texas State University for several years before his retirement in 1975. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the 39th Infantry Battalion from 1942 until 1944. He was a recipient of two Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clarendon. Survivors include three daughters, Rogenna Kirkland of Amarillo, Teresa S. Phillips of Clarendon, and Loris R. Kirkland of Belton, Mo.; two sons, Otis L. Phillips of Amarillo, and Curtis A. Elsewhere Kurt Landon Lee MOSCOW, Kan. - Kurt Landon Lee, 19, died Saturday, June 14, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Assembly of God Church at Hugoton, Kan., with the Rev. Robert Bailey officiating. Burial will be at 5 p.m. in Newkirk Cemetery at Newkirk, Okla., with the Rev. James Clinkscales officiating. Arrangements are by Paul's Funeral Home of Hugoton, Kan. Mr. Lee was born in Dumas. He had been a resident of the Hugoton and the Moscow area for 10 years, moving from Seiling, Okla, where he had lived for 10 years. He was a field operator for Anadarko Petroleum Corp. He was a member of Assembly of God Church in Hugoton. Survivors include his parents, Tony Ray and M. Diane Lee of Spearman; a sister, Krista Lee of Spearman; his grandparents, Mary Lee Hale of Moore, Okla., Hugh and Billie Ann Stewart of Stratford; and his great-grandfather, Charles Ellison of Stratford. The family requests memorials be to Stevens County E.M.S. Tamara Anne Baldwin AUSTIN - Tamara Anne Baldwin, 43, died Sunday, June 15, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Clarendon. Burial will be at Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. George Episcopal Church. Arrangements are by Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home and Robertson Funeral Home. Ms. Baldwin was born in Memphis. She had lived her early years in Clarendon and Abilene. She graduated with honors from Abilene High School in 1971. She received a bachelor's degree in telecommunications from Texas Tech University in 1976. In 1977, she moved to Austin, where she had lived until her death. During her college years, she worked summers for Abilene State School, and after graduation, she worked for EDS. Later, she worked as a technical writer at IBM, a supervisor at Measurement Incorporated, a sound and lighting engineer and stage manager at Live Oak Theater, and a manager of The Chromatics, an Austin band. She was a supportive member of the Austin community. She delivered for Meals on Wheels for many years. She was a member of the Austin Genealogical Society Board of Directors for several years and served as the president of this organization from 1994 until 1995. While she served on the Genealogical Society Board, she was also on the board of directors of the Austin Music Commission. Survivors include her parents, Nellie Jon Baldwin of Austin, and Dan C. Margaret Heidbreder Eppright HOUSTON - Margaret Heidbreder Eppright, 71, died Thursday, June 12, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer, in Houston. Arrangements are by Geo. H. Lewis & Sons of Houston. Mrs. Eppright was born in Beggs, Okla. She was a graduate of Oklahoma State University and worked as a physical therapist in Utah and Texas. She was active in the Harris County Heritage Society and was a volunteer in numerous organizations for many years. She married Richard H. Eppright in 1952. Survivors include three sons, Richard Thomas Eppright of Shiner, John Allen Eppright of Houston and James David Eppright of Bebe; three sisters, Lorraine Heidbreder Garvalia of Cheyenne, Wyo., Rosalyce Heidbreder Pace of Yuma, Ariz., and Nadine Heidbreder McGee of San Antonio; and four grandchildren. Richard Horace Eppright, M.D. HOUSTON - Richard Horace Eppright, M.D., 71, died Thursday, June 12, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer, in Houston. Arrangements are by Geo. H. Lewis & Sons of Houston. Dr. Eppright was born in Charlotte. He was a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1949. He served his internship at Boston's Massachusetts General Hospital, and completed his residency at Jefferson Davis Hospital in Houston, Children's Medical Center in Houston, and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He served in the Air Force Orthopedic Service, 3700th Hospital at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. He was a member of numerous national and international professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, the American Medical Association, the American Orthopedic Association, the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons. He was also a member of the Clinical Orthopedic Society, the Orthopedic Research and Education Foundation, the Orthopedic Research Society, the Russell A. Hibbs Society, Southern Medical Association, Southern Orthopedic Association, Southwestern Surgical Congress, and the Western Orthopedic Association. Regional affiliations include the Texas Medical Association, Texas Orthopedic Association, Texas Rheumatism Association and the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. He was a member of the Doctor's Club of Houston, Houston Orthopedic Society (formerly Houston Orthopedic Club) and the Houston Surgical Society. He was the author of several medical publications, a visiting professor of Orthopedic Surgery at various locations around the world, and was involved with hundreds of presentations and scientific meetings. He married Margaret Heidbreder in 1952. Survivors include three sons, Richard Thomas Eppright of Shriner, John Allen Eppright of Houston, and James David Eppright of Bebe; a sister, Edith Eppright of Charlotte; a brother, George David Eppright of Charlotte; and four grandchildren. New Mexico Francisco Gonzalez TUCUMCARI - Francisco Gonzalez, 97, died Thursday, June 12, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Center Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. J. Robert Sawyer, minister, officiating. Burial will be at the family plot of the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Mr. Gonzalez was born in Chihuahua, State of Chihuahua, Mexico. He had been a resident of Tucumcari since the early 1920s. He was a retired car inspector, working for the Southern Pacific Railroad Co. for 44 years. He was a member of the Spanish Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloisa, a daughter, Eloise, and a son, Frank. Survivors include a daughter, Delle G. Jacques of Tucson, Ariz.; two sons, David Gonzalez of Tucumcari, and Daniel Gonzalez of El Paso, Texas; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing until 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.
