She was a bookkeeper and a member of Travis Baptist Church. She married Ernest Stokes in Slaton. He died in 1985. Survivors include two sisters, Ethel Hillhouse of Memphis and Juanita Scott of Cooper. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. They will receive visitors from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Gretta Joyce Hipp TULIA - Gretta Joyce Hipp, 68, died Monday, Dec. 15, 1997. Mrs. Hipp was born in Lubbock. She grew up in Tahoka and graduated from Tahoka High School. She attended Texas Tech University. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She worked for Amoco Production Co. as an executive secretary for eight years. She married James Patton "Patt" Hipp in 1955 at Brownfield. They moved to Tulia in 1961. Mr. Hipp died in 1976. Allen Boyd Harrell BORGER - Allen Boyd Harrell, 80, died Monday, Dec. 15, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. He had been a Borger resident since 1952, moving from California. He retired in 1981 as an operator for the Plains Plant at Phillips. He served in the Navy and was a survivor of the Arizona at Pearl Harbor. He was a member of Abundant Life Fellowship. He married Virginia Linder in 1943 at Stigler, Okla. She died in April. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Ann Harris and Glenda Milner, both of Borger; a brother, Harwood Harrell of McAlester, Okla.; a sister, Beverly Maxwell of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Jose Renteria SPEARMAN - Jose Renteria, 69, died Monday, Dec. 15, 1997. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Scott Raef, parish priest, officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Renteria was born in Los Fresnos. He had lived in the Spearman area for 30 years, moving from Petersburg. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He married Olivia Esquivel in 1946 at Los Fresnos. She died in 1995. He also was preceded in death by a son, Guadalupe Renteria, in 1993. Survivors include four sons, Jesse Renteria of Gruver, Alex Renteria of Guymon, Okla., Juan Renteria of Spearman and Nick Renteria of Amarillo; three daughters, Olivia Renteria and Beatriz Vargas, both of Spearman, and Reveca Resor of Shamrock; two brothers, Martin Renteria of Spearman and Andy Renteria of Garland; a sister, Estella Renteria of Spearman; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Collins was born in Wellington, Mo., and had been a Claude resident most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mauldin Club. She also was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Warner Sunday School class. She married Thomas Reese Collins in 1925 at Kansas City, Mo. He died in 1973. She moved to Canadian in 1990 from Burlington, Colo. She married Martin Bauer in 1922 at Bethune. He died in 1974. Survivors include two sons, Walter R. Bauer of Bozeman, Mont., and Daniel G. Amarillo Dr. Freddie del Prado Marasigan Dr. Freddie del Prado Marasigan, 51, of Amarillo, died Monday, Dec. 8, 1997. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church by Monsignor Joseph Tash of the church. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home Inc., 4100 S. Georgia St. Dr. Marasigan was born in Pangasinan, Philippines. He graduated from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila. He did an internship in 1972 at City Hospital in Elmhurst, N.Y., and a threeyear residency in pediatrics at the same hospital. He also did a one-year residency in pediatrics nephrology at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. He was a Pediatric Clinical Teaching Fellow at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y. Dr. Marasigan practiced in Borger before moving to Amarillo in 1980. He was chief of department of pediatrics at Northwest Texas Hospital for many years. He was a member of the board of directors for the Children's Rehabilitation Center. He had been a member of Potter-Randall County Medical Society and was a member of the Texas Medical Association and the American Medical Association. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, worked with the youth and sponsored youth trips. He also was a member of the men's club, singles group and adult education. Survivors include a daughter, Laureen Marasigan of the home; a sister, Celina Omi of San Francisco; and his mother, Purita Marasigan of San Francisco. She and her sister made rosaries for Catholic missions all over the world. She married Jim Winfield in 1972 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; a son, Jason R. Mr. Thompson married Carolyn Wilson in 1966 at Amarillo. He graduated from Borger High School at Borger in 1956. He then served in the Army, 82nd Airborne Division. After his military service, he graduated from the University of Oklahoma and received his pharmacy degree. He was a pharmacist for 20 years before joining American Airlines, where he worked for 15 years. He worked with the southern reservation office and was coordinator of the employee assistance program at American Airlines. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Cookie Pendergraft; sons, Steve Pendergraft of Fort Worth, Jeff Pendergraft of Breckenridge, Colo., Jeffrey Pendergraft of Oklahoma City and Scott Pendergraft of Houston; his mother, Rosalie Johnson of Amarillo; a brother, Dr. Thomas Johnson of Amarillo; a sister, Anette Carlisle of Amarillo; his grandmother, Anna O'Grady of Borger; and a grandson. Mrs. McMahan was preceded in death by a son, John David McMahan, in 1987.
