Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Heart Cemetery at Booker with the Rev. Floyd Thiessen officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Rice was born in Reydon, Okla. She moved to Perryton in 1930 from McLean. She married James Wesley Rice in 1930 at Cheyenne, Okla. He died in 1975. She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Thelma Rice and Shirley Fish. Mrs. Rice was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include three sisters, Louise Davis of Austin, Marguerite Latham of Booker and Ann Devers of Balko, Okla.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Maria H. Segovia BOVINA - Maria H. Segovia, 73, died Monday, July 14, 1997. Prayer services will be at 8 p.m. today in Muffley Funeral Home Chapel in Clovis, N.M. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Primera Iglesia Bautista Belen in Bovina with Jesus Cantu officiating. Burial will be in Bovina Cemetery. Mrs. Segovia was born and raised in Harlingen. She married Jose Segovia in 1945 at Harlingen. They lived in Tahoka before moving to Bovina in 1969. Mr. Segovia died in 1987. Mrs. Segovia was a homemaker and a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista Belen. Survivors include four sons, Luis Segovia of Clovis, and Esquiel Segovia, Joe Segovia and Manuel Segovia, all of Bovina; a daughter, Luisa Cavassos of Harlingen; two brothers, Gene Hernandez of Harlingen and Joe Hernandez of Tahoka; a sister, Petra Hernandez of Fort Collins, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Maude Emma Best Weiser PANHANDLE - Maude Emma Best Weiser, 82, died Monday, July 14, 1997. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Conway Community Church with the Rev. Jim Perkins, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Weiser was born in Greenwood and had been a Panhandle resident since 1929. She was the tax clerk for Carson County. She married A.J. "Bud'' Weiser in 1937 at Claude. He died in 1994. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Altrurian Club. She also was a longtime Brownie Scout leader. Survivors include a daughter, Lynne Weiser Tuck of Panhandle. Jim Wilson Smith STRATFORD - Jim Wilson Smith, 80, died Tuesday, July 17, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Stratford Cemetery with Jerry Stewart, pastor of Stratford Baptist Church, officiating. Masonic rites will be by Dalhart Masonic Lodge. Arrangements are by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home of Texhoma, Okla. Mr. Smith was born in Stratford. He served in the Navy during World War II. He owned and operated a water-well drilling company and was a member of the Baptist church. He was a member of Stratford Masonic Lodge. He was a district deputy grand master in 1994, a Lubbock Scottish Rite Ambassador, a 32nd Degree Mason and a two-time past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Smith married Martha Jane Ringo in 1939 at Dumas. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jess Carl Smith and Jim Earl Smith, both of Stratford; a brother, Jack Smith of Stratford; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Glenn Jarnagin FLOYDADA - Glenn Jarnagin, 82, died Tuesday, July 15, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Jim Woodworth, former interim pastor, the Rev. Ione Sedinger, pastor, and the Rev. Michael Passmore, senior pastor of First Christian Church in Lubbock, officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Floyd County Memorial Park by Moore-RoseWhite Funeral Home. Mr. Jarnagin was born in Killeen and graduated from South Plains community schools. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Evelyn Floriene Dorrell in 1942. She died in 1994. He also was preceded in death by a son, Gary Jarnagin, in 1996. Mr. Jarnagin was a farmer and mail carrier. He recently retired from teaching shop class at Della Plains schools. He was a lifetime resident of Floyd County. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 712 in Floydada. He was a member and elder at First Christian Church. Survivors include a son, Joe Mack Jarnagin of Port Orchard, Wash.; a brother, Floyd Jarnagin of Midland; two sisters, Mamie Lou Hartman of South Plains and Anne Gayle Horn of Lubbock; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Parkside Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Anthony's Church by Monsignor Orville Blum. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Mrs. Olguin was born in Garita, N.M. She was a homemaker. She married her husband, Fernando, in Garita. They were married for more than 50 years before he died in 1979. She also was preceded in death by a daughter. Survivors include a son, Eloy Olguin of Conchas, N.M.; five daughters, Nieves Garcia and Trudy Lopez, both of Ruidoso, Lillie Rameriz of Guymon, Okla., Marcella Soliz of Hereford and Esmeralda Torres of Alamogordo, N.M.; two brothers, Herman Sena and Timoteo Sena, both of Las Vegas, N.M.; 28 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren. Amarillo Bobbie Muehlhausen Bobbie Muehlhausen, 63, of 8410 Olympia Drive, died Wednesday, July 16, 1997. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Muehlhausen was born in Hereford and had lived in Amarillo most of her life. She graduated from Amarillo High School and attended Amarillo College School of Nursing. She worked as a certified patient services coordinator at High Plains Baptist Hospital from 1980 to 1984 and at Palo Duro Hospital from 1988 to 1995. She married Gary L. Muehlhausen in 1951 at Amarillo. Mrs. Muehlhausen was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Quail Creek Congregation. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Michele Muehlhausen Mussman and Christy Hanyen, both of Amarillo; two sons, Michael Muehlhausen of San Antonio and Eric Muehlhausen of the home; her mother, Bertie Britt of Hereford; and three grandchildren. Ethel McClure Bibles Robinson Ethel McClure Bibles Robinson, 76, of Amarillo, died Sunday, July 13, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. B.F. Roberts, pastor, and Mrs. Robinson's son, the Rev. Leo Bibles of Duncanville, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St. Mrs. Robinson was born in Terrell and attended school there. She moved from Terrell to Childress in 1944 and to Dallas in 1969. While in Dallas, she was a member of New Birth Baptist Church and served on the ushers' board. Mrs. Robinson returned to Amarillo in 1974 and reunited with Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member at the time of her death. Survivors include her husband, Elige Robinson; seven children, Patsy Kizzee of Oklahoma City, Charles Bibles and Linnie Bibles Stevenson, both of Amarillo, Leo Bibles of Duncanville, Lynza Bibles Harrington of Brownwood, J.D. Bibles Jr. of Cedar Hill and Marrcquee Bibles of Burleson; three sisters, Evelyn Stroops and Mary Ella Smith, both of Dallas, and Arline Ballard of Amarillo; 27 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The family will be at 1600 N.W. 14th Ave. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home today from noon to 8:30 p.m. New Mexico Ted West CLOVIS, N.M. - Ted West, 68, died Monday, July 14, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens with T.E. Willmon and Bill Blankenship officiating. Military honors will be by Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. West was born in Konowa, Okla., and had been a longtime Clovis resident. He joined the Air Force in 1948 and traveled extensively throughout the world during his military career. He retired in 1968 at Cannon Air Force Base as a senior master sergeant. He then was a civil service employee at the base in the electronic technical division. He retired in 1984 after 15 years. He married Laura Cottle in 1972 at Clovis. Survivors include his wife; five children, Deborah Worley of Las Vegas, Nev., Jennifer West of Albuquerque, Patricia Summers of Austin, Texas, Ted Greggs of Orlando, Fla. and Diana Clifton of Clovis; two sisters, Sally Williams of Roswell and Aneta Haynes of Tucson, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren. Argil Petty-Richardson CLOVIS, N.M. - Argil Petty-Richardson, 86, died Monday, July 14, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom officiating. Entombment will be in Mission Garden of Memories, Plains Sanctuary Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Petty-Richardson was born in Forrest and graduated from Forrest High School in 1929. She was a member and treasurer of Woodman of the World. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and a recent member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She was a past teacher of the Sunday school class for 10-year-old girls. She later worked in the primary department. She married Angus Petty in 1929. He died in 1988. She also was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Petty, in 1993. She entered Buena Vista Retirement Center, where she met James R. "Dick'' Richardson. They married in 1992 and moved back to her home. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Dolores Paskiewicz of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, Horace Thomas of Tucumcari; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Gertrude Lela Turnbow GUYMON, Okla. - Gertrude Lela Turnbow, 87, died Monday, July 14, 1997. Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Gerald Stewart officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. today in Gaines County Memorial Cemetery at Seminole, Texas, with Tommy Roberts officiating. Mrs. Turnbow was born in Roscoe, Texas. She married Amos K. Turnbow in 1929 at Andrews, Texas. They lived in Seminole, where she worked in several department stores. Mr. Turnbow died in 1976. Mrs. Turnbow moved to Guymon in 1984 and worked as a hostess at Oliver's Restaurant. She had taken care of Tammy Hernandez since 1986. She was a member of Guymon Church of Christ. Luther L. Thrasher TEXHOMA, Okla. - Luther L. Thrasher, 82, died Monday, July 14, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in the James Church of God with the Rev. Donnie Callaway officiating. Burial will be in Texhoma Cemetery by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon. Mr. Thrasher was born in Duke, Mo., and had lived in the Texhoma area most of his life. He graduated from the eighth grade at the James School in rural Texhoma in 1929. He farmed and ranched before retiring in 1985. He was a member of James Church of God and was an honorary chapter farmer of the FFA. He married Opal C. Bolin in 1950 at Clayton, N.M. Mr. Thrasher was preceded in death by his first wife, Erma Burns; an infant son, Leonard; and an infant daughter, Elizabeth. Survivors include his wife, Opal; a daughter, Rosalie Ingram of Texhoma; a stepdaughter, Shirley Randel of Topeka, Kan.; a stepson, Harold Sauvage of Topeka; five sisters, Clara Thrasher, Jane Clark and Rosella Flanagan, all of Texhoma, Lois Layton of Ignacio, Colo., and Joyce Carter of Amarillo; two brothers, Raymond Thrasher and Clarence Thrasher, both of Texhoma; three grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Gladys Perkins GUYMON, Okla. - Gladys Perkins, 83, died Wednesday, July 16, 1997. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mrs. Perkins was born in Nevada, Mo. After spending her early years in midwestern Kansas, she attended Dague Business College in Wichita, Kan. She married Ivan S. "Bud'' Perkins in 1933 at Rozel, Kan. They made their home in Guymon, where Mrs. Perkins was involved in many church and community activities. She was an active member of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church and the Martha-Ruth Circle. She also was a member of the High Plains Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Rose Garden Club. She was a 64-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and had been in the Guymon Chapter No. 419. Survivors include her husband; a son, Ivan S. "Si'' Perkins III of Guymon; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity.
