Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Rick Webb, pastor of Christ Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Jones was born in Amarillo and had been an Amarillo resident all her life. She graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1965. She was employed by the William P. Clements Jr. Unit as an LVN. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Christian Church. Survivors include a son, David Jones of Amarillo; her mother, Tommie Brown of Amarillo; her father, Ernest Brown of Amarillo; a sister, Paula Braswell of Amarillo; her grandmother, Velma Seale of Amarillo; and a grandchild. The family will be at 130 Hyman St. Imani Boyer Imani Boyer, infant daughter of Rodney Mays and Roberta Boyer Jeter of Amarillo, died Monday, June 16, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery with Nathaniel Cantley, minister of North Heights Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Warford-Walker Mortuary Inc., 509 N. Hughes St. Imani was born in Amarillo. Survivors include her parents; two sisters, Klandra Jeter and Klandes Jeter, both of Amarillo; two brothers, Rodney Lee of Kansas City, Mo., and Rashad Young of Starville, Miss.; and grandparents, Ardella Boyer of Amarillo, and Ozella King and Charles Russell, both of Kansas City, Mo. Zella E. Frieze Zella E. Frieze, 79, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, June 17, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. David Evans, pastor, officiating. Additional services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Wharton Funeral Home Chapel at Alva, Okla. Burial will be in Capron Cemetery at Capron, Okla. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Frieze was born in Freedom, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo for 51 years. She retired as the cafeteria manager for the Amarillo Independent School District. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She married Berton D. Frieze in 1941 at Alva. He died in 1994. Survivors include two sons, Ed Frieze of Amarillo and Ray Frieze of Orlando, Fla.; and five grandchildren. The family will be at 4709 Oregon Trail. They suggest memorials be to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund. Canyon Travis Chapman Williams Travis Chapman Williams, 75, of Canyon, died Friday, June 13, 1997. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Brooks Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Gayle Bowen, associate pastor of First Baptist Church of Canyon, officiating. Mrs. Williams was born in Sulphur Springs. She graduated from Portales High School in New Mexico and attended Eastern New Mexico University. She married Glenn Williams in 1949 at Amarillo. They moved to Canyon in 1965. Mrs. Williams was a member of First Baptist Church of Canyon. Survivors include two daughters, Jan Williams of Canyon and Becky Williams of Amarillo; four sons, Ernie Williams of Stinnett, David Williams of Happy, Drew Williams of New Braunfels and Lane Williams of Pleasanton; a brother, John "Bud'' Chapman of Walla Walla, Wash.; and six grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Polycystic Kidney Research Foundation, 4901 Main St., Suite 320, Kansas City, Mo. 64112-2674. Thelma L. Price Thelma L. Price, 94, of Canyon, died Tuesday, June 17, 1997. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Monahans Cemetery at Monahans with the Rev. Tom Garmon, pastor of First United Methodist Church at Alpine, officiating. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mrs. Price was born in Nolan County. She taught school and was a counselor in El Paso. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard B. Price, in 1970. Survivors include three nieces including Barbara Coleman of Canyon; and a nephew. New Mexico Jay P. Neely PORTALES, N.M. - Jay P. Neely, 86, died Sunday, June 15, 1997. Military graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Portales Cemetery with LeBane Hall, chaplain, officiating. Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Inc. Mr. Neely was born in Elida and raised in Roswell. He graduated from Roswell High School in 1929. He married Rebecca Bell Jenkins in 1934 at Portales. She died in 1985. Mr. Neely began working in the Civilian Conservation Corps. In the late 1930s he became a soil conservation engineer and worked with the surveying team for erosion control. When World War II broke out, he entered the Army Air Corps and served active duty for six years in an administrative capacity. Much of that time was spent in Labrador. When he mustered out to served in the Inactive Reserves, he held the rank of major. He served in the Inactive Reserves another nine years and attained the rank of lieutenant colonel. Most of his civilian life was spent in the used furniture business at Alameda. In 1975, he retired, and he and his wife moved to Portales to make their home. He was a member of the Carl McDermont Post of the American Legion in Portales. Survivors include four brothers, William E. Neely of Gresham, Ore., Louis C. Neely of Albuquerque, John A. Neely of Roswell and Floyd D. Neely of Evansdale, Calif.; and a sister, Wanda L. Engeldorf of Roswell. Juan B. Lopez CLOVIS, N.M. - Juan B. Lopez, 86, died Monday, June 16, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Guadalupe by the Rev. Daniel M. Balizan. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Lopez was born in Anton Chico. He married Amelia Urioste in 1933 at Anton Chico. They moved to Clovis in the 1940s. Mrs. Lopez died in 1986. He also was preceded in death by a son, Napolean, in 1964. Mr. Lopez was a farm laborer and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community. Survivors include a daughter, Annie Molina of Clovis; two sons, Abenicio Lopez and Laute Lopez, both of Clovis; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Elsewhere Mary M. Thornton ONEIDA, N.Y. - Mary M. Thornton, 59, died Sunday, June 15, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Campbell-Dean Funeral Home Inc. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Thornton was born in Oneida and had been a lifelong Oneida resident. She married LeRoy V. Thornton in 1955 at Oneida. She was a member of Oneida Baptist Church. Mrs. Thornton was preceded in death by a son, Gene Raymond Thornton, and a daughter, Tina Marie Thornton, both in 1965. Survivors include her husband; four sons, LeRoy Thornton Jr., Edwin Thornton and Terry Thornton Sr., all of Oneida, and Leslie Thornton Sr. of Canastota; three daughters, Marguerite Wright of Canastota, and Janice Burton and Bambi Van Vorst, both of Oneida; two brothers, Charles Myers of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Robert Myers of North Carolina; two sisters, Judith "Judy Ann'' Putman of Amarillo and Francellia Roache of Oneida; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Friends may call the funeral home from 9 to 11 a.m. today. Oklahoma Mareta Huls BOISE CITY, Okla. - Mareta Huls, 69, died Monday, June 16, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Derek Cox and Harold James officiating. Burial will be in Boise City Cemetery by Cimarron Mortuary. Mrs. Huls was born in Boise City and attended school at Boise City. She had been a lifetime Boise City resident. She married Herman C. Huls Jr. in 1947 at Clayton, N.M. He died in 1983. She also was preceded in death by an infant son. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a past member of the HEO Club. Survivors include two daughters, Claudia Kyzar of Boise City and Darlene Owens of Hugoton, Kan.; a sister, Faye Pruitt of Boise City; four grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ardmore, Okla. Survivors include a sister, Betty Forbes of Sarasota, Fla. Mary Lowe Gordon PADUCAH - Mary Lowe Gordon, 78, a former Hall County resident, died Monday, June 16, 1997. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Fairview Cemetery at Memphis with Tom Anderson, minister of the Memphis Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Spicer Funeral Home of Memphis. Mrs. Gordon was born in Springtown and moved to the Lakeview area in Hall County at an early age. She married E.A. "Gene'' Gordon in 1937 at Hays, Kan. They moved to Paducah and owned Gordon Auto Parts, where Mrs. Gordon was a bookkeeper. She was a member of First Christian Church and the Pythian Sisters Temple No. 7. Survivors include two sisters, Wanda Robertson and Barbara Bownds, both of Irving; and a brother, G.D. Lowe of Memphis. The family will receive friends at Seigler Funeral Home in Paducah from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. today. Marjorie G. Buzbee HAPPY - Marjorie G. Buzbee, 75, of Hobbs, N.M., a former Happy resident, died Monday, June 16, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Happy Cemetery with the Rev. Lonny Poe officiating. Arrangements are by Chapel of Hope Funeral Home in Hobbs. Ms. Buzbee was born in Wichita County. She grew up in Happy and sold greeting cards there. She had lived in Hobbs since 1981. Survivors include a sister, Edna Jenkins of Hobbs. Audrey Lee Hancock HAPPY - Audrey Lee Hancock, 89, of Stratford, a former Happy resident, died Monday, June 16, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Methodist Church of Happy with the Rev. Mark Metzger, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Stratford, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery at Canyon by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mrs. Hancock was born in Holland, Texas. She moved to the Texas Panhandle from Holland in 1922. She married C.R. "Hap'' Hancock in 1925 at Canyon. They lived in the Arney community for 37 years and moved to Happy in 1973. Mr. Hancock died in 1976. Mrs. Hancock moved to Stratford in 1994. She was a member of the Arney Community Club and First United Methodist Church of Happy. Survivors include a son, Clyde Hancock of Happy; six daughters, Charlotte Morris of Littlefield, Billye Waldron and Carrollee Waters, both of Stratford, Bettie Everitt and Deloris Hancock, both of Amarillo, and Sue Lilley of Purcell, Okla.; a brother, James Murray Markham of Amarillo; 16 grandchildren; and 24 greatgrandchildren.
