Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park North Mausoleum with Dr. Dana Moore of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Miss Hughlett was born in West Plains, Mo. She moved from Kansas City, Kan., to Amarillo in 1988. She made her home with her brother on north River Road. He preceded her in death. She was retired from the Internal Revenue Service. Survivors include a nephew, Al Hughlett of Amarillo; and two nieces, Yvonne Winn and Nelda Martin, both of Amarillo. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Shanna Brown Shanna Brown, 23, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Travis Starnes of Northside United Pentecostal Church officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Miss Brown was born in Amarillo. She was a member of Northside United Pentecostal Church. Survivors include her parents; Ronell and Deborah Brown of Amarillo; a brother, Dustin Brown of Amarillo; and grandparents, Warren G. and Charline Brown of Amarillo. Patsy Lee Clifton Patsy Lee Clifton, 74, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 1997. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Ewing of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Mrs. Clifton was born in Dalhart and had lived in Amarillo for the past 43 years. She married Earl Clifton in 1937 at Tucumcari, N.M. She worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse at St. Anthony's Hospital for several years. She and her husband managed the Arrowhead Lodge at Red River, N.M. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Lee Clifton, three months ago. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Earline Luse and Connie Fennell of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family will be at 3012 Westhaven Drive and requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Elsewhere Jessie R. Pope LUBBOCK - Jessie R. Pope, 52, died Friday, Oct. 17, 1997. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Jackson officiating. Burial will be in City of Lubbock Cemetery. Mr. Pope was born in Morton and moved to Lubbock in 1992 from Wichita Falls. He was an auto maintenance detailer and a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ. He married JoAnn Monroe in 1976 in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Gertrude Mayfield of Amarillo; three brothers, Eugene Cook Jr. of Farmington, N.M., Dwight Cook of Phoenix and James Glenn Mayfield of Amarillo; four sisters, Linda McCullough of Lubbock, Roma White of Lubbock and Sabrina Anderson and ChaRena Mayfield, both of Amarillo. Harold Rhew LUBBOCK - Harold Rhew, 81, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Oakwood United Methodist Church with the Rev. James G. Nunn, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery by Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Rhew was born in Ladonia and had been a Lubbock resident since 1940. He was a retired traveling parts-salesman for Fenner Tubbs Co. He was a member of Oakwood United Methodist Church an an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He married Stella Martin in 1938 at Floydada. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry E. Rhew. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Judy Reeves of Amarillo and Joyce Dye of Wolfforth; a sister, Laura Jean Blevins of Lubbock; a brother, Jack Rhew of Lorenzo; a half-sister, Sarah Jane Dycus of Lorenzo; three half-brothers, A.J. Sales of Hurst, Billy R. Sales of Lubbock and John D. Sales of Lorenzo; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Rix Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Mrs. Garcia was born in Genova, N.M. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Telefon F. Garcia; two daughters, Betty Ortiz and Josie Trevizo both of Hereford; and a son, Raymond R. Rodriquez of Hereford. F.M. Marquis Floydada - F.M. "Ted'' Marquis, 85, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 1997. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Bible Baptist Church with the Rev. Darvin Robinson, pastor, and the Rev. Henry Russell, pastor of Trinity Church, officiating. Burial will be in Floydada Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mr. Marquis was born in Wheeler County. He attended Matador schools. He married Mary Jane Briggs in 1935 at Matador. They moved to Floydada in 1942. She died in 1971. He was a mechanic and the retired owner of M&N Auto Repair. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and of Bible Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Billy Forrest Marquis and James Franklin Marquis both of Floydada; a daughter, Janette Harrison of Floydada; a brother, J.W. "Bill'' Marquis of Topeka, Kan.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The family requests memorials be to Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 573, Floydada, Texas 79235. Felicita G. Valenzuela MORTON - Felicita G. Valenzuela, 70, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Ann's Catholic Church by the Rev. Ricardo Salditos. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Valenzuela was born in Redford and had lived in Morton since 1962. She was a homemaker. She married Satero Valenzuela in 1946 at Marfa. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Martin Valenzuela and Rafael Valenzuela, both of Amarillo, and Ricardo Valenzuela of Morton; a daughter, Aurora Villarreal of Odessa; three sisters, Maria Luna and Cruz Soto, both of Lake Arthur, N.M., and Soccoro Grado of Marfa; six brothers, Armin Grado, Esidro Grado and Manuael Grado, all of Lake Arthur, Francisco Grado of Artesia, N.M., Jesus Grado of Morton, and Marcos Grado of Lubbock; 11 grandchildren; and 17 greatgrandchildren. New Mexico Lorenzo Hernandez CLOVIS - Lorenzo "Lencho'' Hernandez, 95, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Guadalupe by the Rev. Tobin Hitt. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories Cemetery. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Hernandez was born in Monterrey, Mexico. He married Lala Sena in Vaughn in 1930. They moved to Clovis in 1933 where he retired as a self-employed cement contractor. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community and the Senior Citizens Kitchen Band. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1973 and a son Napoleon in 1966. Survivors include a son, Henry Hernandez of Amarillo; two daughters, Angie Lumbrera of Clovis and Judy Pena of Farwell, Texas; 31 grandchildren; 75 greatgrandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren. Jimmy Chris Bowar WHEELER - Jimmy Chris Bowar, 40, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Toby Henson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Bowar was born in Huron, S.D. He moved from Amarillo to Wheeler in 1994. He married Janice Elaine Rodgers in 1994 at Amarillo. He was employed as a truck driver for Covenant Transportation Company and as a carpenter. Mr. Bowar was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Bowar in 1995. Survivors include his wife; a stepson, Timm Rodgers of Canadian; his parents, Alfred and Gertrude Bowar of Huron; four sisters, Linda Wolfe of Florida, Sandy Martin of Dallas, Cheryl Hardie of Odessa, and Carla Alonzo of California; a brother, Bill Bowar of Minneapolis; and two stepgrandchildren.
