Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, in Amarillo, with Norman Rushing officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo. Mr. Belcher was born in Cuthand. He moved to Amarillo in 1994 from Lewisville. He retired from the Air Force. He had been a hotel manager. He married Virginia Rushing in 1954 at Vernon. Survivors include his wife; a son, John Belcher of New Mexico; a daughter, Ginger Quinn of Friona; a brother, Finnis Hughes of Amarillo; two sisters, Dixie Nowlin of Friona and Frances Johnson of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. The family will be at 6617 Roxton in Amarillo. Jack Bennett Sr. BORGER - Jack Bennett Sr., 70, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Stinnett with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Bennett was born in Follett. He had been a Borger resident since 1972, moving from Canadian. He was a welder for G.E. Jones Electric before retiring in 1995. He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a country and gospel singer and was a member of the Country Music Association in Nashville, Tenn. He was a member of the Assembly of God in Denver, American Legion Post No. 671 and the Sheriff's Association of Texas. Mr. Bennett married Trula Mae Dodson in 1972 at Childress. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jimmy Bennett of Sayre, Okla., and Tommy Bennett of Wilson, Okla.; two stepsons, Archie Ray Campbell of Lawton, Okla., and Harvey Dodson of Farmington, N.M.; two stepdaughters, LaWana Dodson McMullen of Phoenix and Kathleen Dodson Johnson of Cortez, Colo.; three brothers, the Rev. Dewayne Bennett of Sanford, the Rev. Don Bennett of Fort Stockton and Edmond Bennett of No Tree; two sisters, Louise Carroll of Canadian and Ruth Humphry of Raleigh, N.C.; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Lockie Williams WELLINGTON - Lockie Williams, 90, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Quail Cemetery at Quail with the Rev. Elvis Pitts, pastor of Faith Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home. Ms. Williams was born in Cooke County. She moved to Wellington in 1920. She was a laundry worker for Thomas Nursing Home and a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include three nieces, Morene Childers of Wellington, Isabell Marchant of Shamrock and Alene Dollar of Denver. George Marshall Clark PAMPA - George Marshall Clark, 79, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Teeter, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Michael Moss, pastor of First Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery with graveside rites by Pampa Masonic Lodge No. 966 AF&AM. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Clark was born in Stephenville. He entered the Masonic Home and School in 1927 and graduated in 1937. He attended Lon Morris College at Jacksonville for a year and then moved to Pampa in 1938. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps, serving as sergeant during World War II. He worked for Cabot Corp. for 42 years before retiring in 1980. Mr. Clark petitioned Pampa Masonic Lodge No. 966 and was initiated an Entered Apprentice Mason in 1941. He passed to the degree of Fellowcraft in February of 1942 and was raised to the degree of Master Mason in March of 1942. He served the Pampa Lodge as Tiler in 1959 and was elected Junior Warden in 1962, Senior Warden in 1963 and Worshipful Master in 1964. He was issued a life membership in 1973 and received an endowed membership in 1986. He served the Grand Lodge in various capacities over the years. He was a member of the Masonic Graduates Advisory Committee from 1971 to 1979 and served as chairman in 1977 and 1978. He served as District Deputy Grand Master in 1974, Grand Pursuivant in 1979 and Grand Senior Deacon in 1981. He served on the Grand Officers Report in 1981 and 1982, serving as chairman in 1981. He was a member and chairman of the Grievance and Appeals Committee No. 3 in 1984, 1985 and 1986, and served as District Masonic Relations Officer in 1991 and 1992. During the 1970s, Mr. Clark served as regional chairman of the Masonic Home and School Development Program, which included all the Texas Panhandle. He was a member of the Royal Arch Chapter and Council of York Rite Masonry and the Knights Templar Commandery. He was a life member of the El Paso and Lubbock Scottish Rites Consistory and had been invested with the 32nd Degree Knight Commander Court of Honor. He served on the Tiling and Reception Committee and Degree Master. He was a member of the Khiva Shrine and a life member of the Royal Order of Scotland. He was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Patron twice. Mr. Clark had been a member of the Methodist church for more than 50 years. He served on all church committees and was a lay leader and a delegate to the annual Conference for several years. He also taught Sunday school for more than 30 years. Mr. Clark married Hazel Riley in 1987 at Chillicothe. Survivors include his wife; a son, Steven McDaniel of Amarillo; two daughters, Frances White of Pasadena and Barbara Sue Moreland of Mounds, Ill.; a brother, Joel Clark of Fort Worth; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. C.O. Barber Sr. DALHART - C.O. Barber Sr., 94, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Dalhart Church of Christ with Gaylord Cook, minister, and W. Dale Pearson, retired Church of Christ minister from Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home Inc. Mr. Barber was born in Wakita, Okla. He was baptized in 1914 and served as a Sunday school teacher, song leader, deacon and elder at the Dalhart Church of Christ. He served on the FHA board and the Farm Bureau. He served as president of the Inter-State Fair in 1966. Mr. Barber married Beulah Jacques in 1927 at Cassville, Mo. They farmed between Hooker, Okla., and Hugoton, Kan., from 1928 to 1931, when they purchased a farm southwest of Dalhart. In 1971, they moved into Dalhart. He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Barber, in 1994. Survivors include his wife; a son, Clyde Barber Jr. of Dumas; three daughters, Eileen Graves of Fort Worth, Glenna Sanders of Spring and Beth Paulk of Perryton; 20 grandchildren; and 29 greatgrandchildren. Rosa Laubhan Johnson HIGGINS - Rosa Laubhan Johnson, 84, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997, in Shattuck, Okla. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ryan Burns, pastor, and the Rev. Monte Kreis, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Booker, officiating. Burial will be in Higgins Cemetery by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors of Canadian. Mrs. Johnson was born in Ellis County, Okla. In 1913, the family moved to Higgins, where she later attended school and worked with her parents in the Laubhan Grocery Store. She also worked for Montgomery Ward in Oklahoma City for a few years. She married Knox Johnson in 1946. After the 1947 tornado in Higgins, they lived in Temple. They returned to Higgins to operate Laubhan Hardware and Grocery Store. Mr. Johnson died in 1974. She also was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Ray Johnson, in 1971. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Higgins United Methodist Church. She received her 50-year pin as a member of Higgins Chapter No. 300 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She had served as Worthy Matron and was an officer at the time of her death. She also volunteered as a pink lady at Newman Memorial Hospital in Shattuck, Okla. Survivors include a son, Donnie Johnson of Higgins; a sister, Norma Lee Laubhan of Higgins; and two grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home in Canadian from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The body will be available for viewing at the church before the services. Amarillo Georgia E. Kotte Georgia E. Kotte, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997, in Mount Hope, Kan. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery East Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Charles Jones, pastor of Second Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home Inc., 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Kotte was born in Hill County and lived in Mangum, Okla., for many years. She was a longtime Amarillo resident. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. Her husband, Bill Kotte, died in 1987. Survivors include three daughters, Jean Williams of Mount Hope, Alene Brown of Amarillo and Virginia Egemier of Canoga Park, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Rubylene Foster Schauer Rubylene Foster Schauer, 75, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Schauer was born in Cooke County. She moved to Childress in 1929. She was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 41 years before retiring in 1983. She was a member of Lawndale Church of Christ. She married Chester Schauer in 1948 at Childress. Wayne Allen Broadstreet Wayne Allen Broadstreet, 34, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997. Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in First Assembly of God in Dimmitt with the Rev. Mr. Broadstreet was born in Dimmitt. He moved to Amarillo in 1996 from Dimmitt. He was a restaurant worker. Survivors include his parents, Gene W. Broadstreet and Ruby J. William C. Brown William C. "Bojo" Brown, 76, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Schooler Funeral Home Inc. Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. C.N. "Shad" Rue and Dr. Gil Lain of Paramount Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Brown was born in Lubbock. He enlisted in the Army in 1942 at Lubbock and was discharged in 1946 at Fort Sam Houston. He served during World War II with the 1st Battalion, 302nd Ordnance Regiment (BASE) in Fort Ord, Calif. He worked for the Greyhound Garage as a mechanic for nine years. He then went to work for SPS at the old East Plant and later was transferred to the Nichols Station. He retired after 32 years of service. Mr. Brown was a member of Paramount Baptist Church, where he was ordained a deacon and taught the Men's Sunday School Class. He married Alma Sanders in 1948 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary Brown of College Station and Randy Brown of Canyon; two brothers, Ray H. Brown of Amarillo and Edward Lee Brown of Arlington; and four grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the library fund or music scholarship fund at Paramount Baptist Church, 3801 S. Anthony Martinez. Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. today in St. Helen Catholic Church by the Rev. Martinez. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery at Portales. Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Inc. Jose was born in Portales. Survivors include his parents, Rosalinda Hernandez and Ignacio Cuevas, both of Clovis; a brother, Harvey Cuevas; a sister, Cymantha Ranel Cuevas of the home; and grandparents, Rudy Hernandez of Clovis, and Emilia Hernandez, and Tranquilino and Juana Martinez, all of Portales. Oklahoma Mary Morrine Jones BOISE CITY, Okla. - Mary Morrine Jones, 75, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Church of Christ with Don Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in Boise City Cemetery by Cimarron Mortuary. Mrs. Jones was born in Teresita, Okla. She was raised in and around Tahlequah in Cherokee County, where she attended school. She married Stanley Jones in 1944 at Wagoner. They moved to Boise City in 1945 and worked on the Godown Ranch. She also worked in the Swan Cafe and Townsman Cafe for several years. She then worked at the Coly's Grocery Store and later in the dietary department at Cimarron Memorial Hospital until retiring. Mrs. Jones was a past member of Free Will Baptist Church of Boise City. She attended the Pentecostal Church of Boise City. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Stanley Dale Jones of Dalhart, Texas, and Raymond Darrell Jones of Boise City; two daughters, Marlene Clifton and Rita Montgomery, both of Boise City; a brother, Toy McClelland of Tahlequah; a sister, Ethel Davis of Fresno, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren. Tom Medley, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Dutton Funeral Home. Ms. Gore was born in Hedley. She was a former longtime resident of the Wichita Falls area and had lived in Electra for two years. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Don James, in 1996. Survivors include her mother, Flora Honea of Amarillo; a daughter, Glenda Sanderson of Electra; two sisters, Flonnie Bryant of Amarillo and Juanita Miller of Albuquerque, N.M.; six brothers, Calvin Honea, Cecil Honea and Sonny Honea, all of Amarillo, Jeff Honea of Fort Worth, L.C. Honea of Shreveport, La., and Andy Honea of Holliday; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
