Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Dozier Cemetery with the Rev. Truman Ledbetter of Clarendon officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mr. Brown was born in Wellington and had lived in the Dozier community most of his life. He graduated from Samnorwood High School. He was a farmer and rancher and was a member of Dozier Methodist Church. Survivors include a sister, Edwinna Johnson of Wheeler; and two half-brothers, Gary Hardcastle and Danny Hardcastle, both of Wheeler. W.L. Garrison BORGER - W.L. "Dub" Garrison, 65, died Friday, Dec. 19, 1997, at Boston. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Keeler Baptist Church with the Rev. Blaine Hixson, pastor, and Leon Green of Bolton Street Baptist Church in Amarillo officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park in the Garden of Love by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Garrison was born in Clarita, Okla., and moved to Borger in 1951 from Wapanucka, Okla. He retired from Phillips Petroleum in 1986 as a heavy equipment operator. He was employed by Borger Independent School District as a bus driver. He served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956 as an AE mechanic. He married Monnie Tidwell in 1951 in Wapanucka. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Rhonda Register and Nicki Schroeder, both of Borger; a brother, Charlie Garrison of Lubbock; two sisters, Alice Freed of Altus, Okla., and Virgie Garrison of Oklahoma City; and three grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Keeler Baptist Youth Church Fund. Janie Wells BORGER - Janie Wells, 65, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Gregg Simmons, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Wells was born in Achille, Okla., and had been a Borger resident for 50 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was married to Bob Wells in 1963 at Borger. Survivors include her husband; a son, Robert Wells Jr. of Fritch; two daughters, Carley Wells and Jennifer McKinney, both of Borger; a brother, Jack Harvin of Borger; and four grandchildren. Willie Pittman PERRYTON - Willie Pittman, 78, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Fellowship Baptist Church. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Mrs. Pittman was born in Palestine and moved to the Perryton area in 1969 from Hollis, Okla. She also had lived in Spearman. She was a homemaker and a member of Primitive Baptist Church of Wellington. She married T.J. Pittman in 1938 at Hollis. Survivors include her husband; a son, Terry Pittman of Pampa; two daughters, Barbara Peterson of Perryton and Merry Allison of Booker; four sisters, Lorene Brown of Hollis, Marjorie Hall of Altus, Okla., and Deannie Gilley and Cleo Cotter, both of Spearman; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Kathryn Crabtree CONLEN - Kathryn Crabtree, 84, of Conlen died Saturday, Dec. 20, 1997. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today in People's Church at Dalhart with the Rev. Jerry Davis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery at Stratford by Morrison Funeral Directors in Dumas. Mrs. Crabtree was born in Stratford. She has been a resident of Dallam County since 1947. She was a schoolteacher and a member of People's Church. She married Ed Crabtree in 1939 at Quanah. He died in 1966. Survivors include a son, Elliott Crabtree of Conlen; a daughter, Elaine Horne of Conlen; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to People's Church Building Fund, 1929 Apache Dr., Dalhart, Texas 79022 or to a favorite charity. The body will not be available for viewing. The family will be at the Elliott's home in Conlen. Ellen Vanlandingham WELLINGTON - Ellen Vanlandingham, 94, a longtime Wellington resident, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 1997, at Dallas. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Charles Porter, her nephew of Dallas, officiating. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Vanlandingham was born in Emory and moved to Wellington in 1934. She recently moved to Dallas. She had worked as a sales clerk. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Buddy Vanlandingham in 1921 at Emory. He died in 1971. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Melba Joyce Hollis in 1989. Survivors include a son, Albert Vanlandingham of Dallas; a sister, Mollie Lee Porter of Dallas; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Owen Patton BOVINA - Owen Patton, 83, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Morgan, pastor, and the Rev. Neeley Landrum of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Bovina Cemetery by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mr. Patton was born in Bryan County, Okla., and moved to Parmer County in 1943 from Chillicothe. He was a retired farmer. He attended the First Baptist Church and was a life member of the Quarter Horse Association and a former member of the Bovina Roping Club. He had been a trustee at Kings High in Hardeman County. He married Twla June Snodgrass in 1936. She died in March 1989. He married Arlene Hanks Hairgrove in December 1989 at Bovina. Survivors include his wife, Arlene; two daughters, Sandra Jones of Amarillo and Patricia Read of Dumas; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Amarillo Olive L. Carter Olive L. Carter, 71, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Paramount Baptist Church with Dr. Gil Lain, pastor and Michael Carter officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Carter was born in Jonesboro, Ark. She had been a resident of Amarillo for 30 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Paramount Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. She married W.S. Carter in 1943 at Paragould, Ark. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Linda Ussery of Amarillo and Nancy Smith of Arlington, Va.; two sons, Stewart Carter of Amarillo and Larry Carter of Charlottesville, Va.; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Jackie Lee Adkins Jackie Lee Adkins, 59, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 1997. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. today in the Panhandle Cemetery with Dr. Jim Perkins, pastor of First Baptist Church of Panhandle, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Adkins was born in Amma, W.Va., and was a graduate of Sissonville, W.Va., High School. He served with the Air Force from 1956 to 1960. Mr. Adkins worked as a warehouse manager in the wholesale plumbing business for many years. He later opened stores and developed a customer base for Cronk Co. He also worked for U.S. Southland Co. as a manager of their Tyler store and as a sales representative for Wyeth Hardware Co. of St. Joseph, Mo. He had retired. Survivors include his wife, Benmarion Adkins; a son, Bob Adkins of Dallas; a daughter, Sharon Miller of Waxahachie; a stepdaughter, Debbie Dominguez of Amarillo; two stepsons, Larry Stovall of Panhandle and Johnny Stovall of Mesquite; a sister, Aravilla Black of Charleston, W.Va.; three brothers, Don Adkins of Sissonville, W.Va., and Siegal Adkins and Fred Adkins, both of Charleston, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and 11 stepgrandchildren. The family will be at 3401 Tripp Ave. Jimmy Stewart Jimmy "J.D." Stewart, 51, of 3608 S.E. 29th Ave., died Thursday, Dec. 18, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with the Rev. Freddie L. Richardson, pastor of Soul's Harbor Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Stewart was born in Portales, N.M. He worked for Bell Helicopter for 22 years and Colorado Grease at Brighton, Colo., for one year. He was a member of Soul's Harbor Church. He married Linda Sue Howeth in 1968 at Stinnett. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Debbie Sustaita, Nancy Carpenter and Sheila Stewart, all of Amarillo; two sons, Jimmy Don Stewart and Donnie Lee Stewart, both of Amarillo; parents, Lillian and Pete Dobbins and Harold and Sandy Stewart, all of Amarillo, and Jessie Mae Edwards of Midland; a sister, Crystal Stewart of Amarillo; six brothers, Dale Stewart, Gale Stewart, Cowboy Stewart, Tinky Stewart, Stanley Stewart and Michael Stewart, all of Amarillo; and 13 grandchildren. Joint services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery East Mausoleum, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Dana Moore, officiating. The twins were born in Amarillo. Survivors include their parents; a sister, Kandi Schaef of the home; and grandparents, Johnny and Sue Schaef of Amarillo, Chet Chidsester of Austin and Mary Bush of Carlsbad, N.M. Marcus B. Woodall Marcus B. Woodall, 77, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Murray Gossett of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Woodall was born in Ardmore, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo most of his life. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He served as president of an Amarillo bank 30 years ago. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He married Rose Margaret in 1942 in Amarillo. She preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Steve Woodall of Canyon; a daughter, Susie McEwen of Richardson; and three grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Presbyterian Children's Home or the Alzheimer's Association Panhandle Chapter. The body will be available for viewing at 1 p.m. today.
