Jordan was born in Amarillo and had lived in Childress all of her life. Survivors include parents, Rusty and Debra Sue Riddell of the home; a sister, Molly Riddell of Childress; a brother, Payton Riddell of Childress; grandparents, Doris Padgett of Amarillo, and Charlotte Riddell and Gaylean Riddell, both of Childress; and great-grandmother, Lois Biggs of Amarillo. Ethel N. Loter WHEELER - Ethel N. Loter, 82, died Friday, July 18, 1997, in Corpus Christi. Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Monday in Wesley United Methodist Church at Corpus Christi with the Rev. Sue Nelson Gibson, pastor, officiating. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church at Wheeler with the Rev. Rob Lindley, pastor, officiating. Private burial was in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mrs. Loter was born in Throckmorton County and graduated from Throckmorton High School. She married Charles E. Loter in 1941 at Alpine. They moved to Wheeler from Fort Davis. They lived in Wheeler until 1988, when they moved to Corpus Christi. Mrs. Loter was a clerk for McIlhaney's Dry Goods for many years. She was a member and past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Wheeler First United Methodist Church and a teacher of the Friendship Sunday School Class. She had an associate membership at Wesley United Methodist Church Corpus Christi. Mr. Loter died in 1991. Survivors include a son, Dr. Joe C. Loter of Corpus Christi; four sisters, Josephine Coffman and Quetana Drumm, both of Princeton, Idaho, Inell Sproul of Fort Davis and Audrey West of Alto, N.M.; a brother, John Newton of Princeton; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Kaylee was born in Pampa and had lived in Shamrock all of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church. The family requests memorials be to the Ronald McDonald House or the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center. Velma Mae Wyatt SUNRAY - Velma Mae Wyatt, 86, died Sunday, July 20, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sunray Baptist Church with the Rev. Philip Hilton, pastor, and the Rev. Scott Curry, pastor of First Baptist Church of Gruver, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in Stratford Cemetery at Stratford. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Wyatt was born in Sherman County and had lived 20 miles south of Gruver. She was a homemaker and a member of Sunray Baptist Church. She was a member of church groups including WMS. She also was a member of the Tops Club and the Young at Heart Club. She was the Sherman County 1986 Old Times Queen. Mrs. Wyatt was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Wayne Williams; and a son, Joe Wayne Williams. She married Henry Wyatt in 1948 in New Mexico. Survivors include her husband; a son, Rex Williams of Gruver; a stepson, Gene Wyatt of Granbury, Texas; a daughter, Christine Brandvik of Gruver; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six step-greatgrandchildren. Mildred Hutcherson MEMPHIS - Mildred Hutcherson, 91, died Sunday, July 20, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Spicer Funeral Home. Mrs. Hutcherson was born in Mansfield. She married Edwin Hutcherson in 1932. She had been a member of First United Methodist Church since 1912 and was on the building committee when the presentday church was built in 1968. She also had held every office in the Church Women's Society. Mrs. Hutcherson was active in the 1913 Study Club from the 1960s to the 1980s. She also was an accomplished oil and china painter. She was preceded in death by a son, Bub Hutcherson, in 1981. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Lera Kate Powell of Plano; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Methodist church. Charlie Dooley SUNRAY - Charlie Dooley, 76, died Sunday, July 20, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Church of Christ with Jim York, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Dooley was born in Sherman County and had lived in Sherman County and the Sunray area all of his life. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a veteran of the Coast Guard. He was a foreman for several years for the city of Sunray. He also was a volunteer for the Sunray Fire and Ambulance Service. Mr. Dooley was preceded in death by his wife, June Dooley, in 1991. Survivors include a daughter, Pam Williams of Sunray; a son, Chuck Dooley of Sunray; and two granddaughters. The family will be at the family home 41/2 miles northeast of Sunray. Naul BORGER - Robert K. "Bob'' Naul, 64, died Saturday, July 19, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Earl Skaggs, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa. Mr. Naul was born in Houston and had been a resident of Borger since 1980. He retired as vice president and general manager of Woods Service Corp. of Borger. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Elks Lodge. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Donna; two sons, Robert T. Naul of Fritch and Kelly Naul of Tulsa, Okla.; a daughter, Melanie Strange of Cleveland, Texas; two stepdaughters, Dana Slater of Fritch and Becky Lee of Borger; a brother, Donald Naul of Houston; and eight grandchildren. Herminia Ulibarri HEREFORD - Herminia Ulibarri, 61, died Sunday, July 20, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today and Wednesday in San Jose Catholic Church. Mass is pending. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel. Ms. Ulibarri was born in Ballinger and had lived in Hereford for more than 40 years. She was a retired sales clerk and a member of San Jose Catholic Church. Survivors include two daughters, Delfine Mazzamuto of Lubbock and Dana Limon of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren. The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers be to the American Cancer Society or San Jose Catholic Church. Amarillo John Early John Early, 82, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, July 16, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Antioch Bible Fellowship Church with the Rev. Maurice C. Burks, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Mr. Early had been a longtime resident of Amarillo. He was a former taxi cab dispatcher for Dependable Cab Co. Survivors include two brothers, Eugene Early and Charles Early, both of Dallas; four sisters, Rosie Lee Jordan of Jacksonville, Erma Miller and Ethel Milan, both of Denver, and Doris Postell of Athens. Philip M. Irvin Philip M. "Red'' Irvin, 63, of 501 E. Hastings Ave., died Sunday, July 20, 1997. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Lynn Garrett of First Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Irvin was born in Fort Worth and moved to Amarillo 60 years ago. He graduated from Amarillo High School. He worked for Panhandle Fruit for 19 years, Cole Lumber Co. for 10 years and Royal Glass for 10 years before retiring. Survivors include three sisters, Doris Thurston and Dixie Flaherty, both of Amarillo, and Frances Cipriano of Studio City, Calif.; and a brother, Joe Irvin of Austin. Griffin, 84, of Amarillo, died Sunday, July 20, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Philip Daniels, retired Nazarene minister, officiating. He was a self-employed weather stripper in the construction industry. He was a member of First Church of God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Lee Griffin, in 1994. Survivors include a son, Jerry Griffin of Amarillo. Jimmy Don Walker Sr. Jimmy Don Walker Sr., 63, of Amarillo, died Saturday, July 19, 1997. Memorial services were at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center with Chaplain Chandler officiating. Arrangements were by Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1010 W. Ninth Ave. Mr. Walker was born in Ridgeway and had lived most of his life in Amarillo. He served for two years in Korea. He also served during the Berlin Airlift. He worked for Albertson's for 14 years. Survivors include his mother, Pat Speed of Plainview; a daughter, Brenda Walker Chavez of Odessa; and a son, Jimmy Don Walker Jr. of Irving. The body will not be available for viewing. Alice Kalka Alice Kalka, 73, of Rt. 4, Box 22, died Sunday, July 20, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., with the Rev. Ken Keller of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Kalka was born in Lawton, Okla. She married John Kalka in 1948 at Hereford. They farmed in the Westway community for 40 years. They moved to Amarillo in 1974. Mrs. Kalka was preceded in death by her husband in 1980. She was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Howell of Amarillo; four sisters, Ruth Walls of Amarillo, Louise Stewart of Hedley, and Christine Harnden and May Belle Walls, both of Camano Island, Wash.; two grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. The family will be at Rt. 4, Box 12. Carmen Malacara Carmen Malacara, 28, of Amarillo, died Saturday, July 19, 1997. Patrick Hoffman of St. Laurence Cathedral officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Malacara had been a lifetime resident of Amarillo. She was employed as a clerk at Hastings at the time of her death. She also operated a booth at the flea market for her uncle. She was in the process of obtaining her GED. Survivors include her husband, Teodoro; two sons, Frankie Malacara and Angel Malacara, both of the home; and a stepdaughter, Judy Garcia of Clinton, Okla. The family will be at 1220 S. Arthur St. Oklahoma Bettie M. Backus GUYMON, Okla. - Bettie M. Backus, 96, died Saturday, July 19, 1997, in Borger, Texas. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom R. Lee, pastor of Hooker First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. Mrs. Backus was born near Elk City in Oklahoma Territory. She moved to Texas County from Elk City in 1911. She was a homemaker and an active member of the Guymon First Baptist Church. She also was a member of the WMU and a longtime Sunday school teacher. She married Charley Backus in 1924 at Ada. He died in 1960. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Catherine Box of Pampa, Texas; two sons, Charley Dudley Backus and Harroll Lin Backus, both of Borger; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a greatgreat-grandson. Frank Kirkpatrick SHATTUCK, Okla. - Frank Kirkpatrick, 86, died Sunday, July 20, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in United Methodist Church with Dr. Herb Bridgewater and the Rev. Lin Sylvester officiating. Graveside services will be in Shattuck Memorial Cemetery with Masonic rites by Shattuck Masonic Joppa Lodge No. 262. Arrangements are by Mason Funeral Home. Mr. Kirkpatrick was born in Shattuck. He attended Shattuck schools, graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City and attended Oklahoma City University. He was a businessman in Shattuck and also farmed land in the Shattuck area. He was a member of United Methodist Church. Mr. Kirkpatrick married Bessie Eleanor Rose in 1936 at Enid. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Thomas Edwin Kirkpatrick. Survivors include his wife; four children, John Gordon Kirkpatrick of Stillwater, Frank David Kirkpatrick of Clinton, Tenn., Carolyn Kirkpatrick Lynd of Edmond and Marilyn Kirkpatrick Macaulay of Dallas; 11 grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. Clarence Tedder, retired Baptist minister, and the Rev. Will Fish, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Littlefield Memorial Park by Hammons Funeral Home of Littlefield. Mrs. Miller was born in Nashville, Ark. She married Johnny F. Miller in 1925 at Ryan, Okla. They moved to the Littlefield area in 1931. Mr. Miller died in 1970. Mrs. Miller was a charter member of the Oklahoma Flat Community Club and a member of Whitharral Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Buddy Miller of Littlefield; a daughter, Wanda Strother of Dalhart; a sister, Marge Anzeline of Fort Worth; four grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Whitharral Baptist Church or a favorite charity. Fraiser Watson ROARING SPRINGS - Fraiser Watson, 80, died Sunday, July 20, 1997. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Benny Goss, pastor of Sunset Avenue Baptist Church in Littlefield, and the Rev. Don James, pastor of First Baptist Church in Roaring Springs, officiating. Burial with Masonic graveside rites will be in Roaring Springs Cemetery. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home of Matador. Mr. Watson was born in Annona and had been a resident of Motley County since 1925. He married Dorothy Webb in 1940 at Roaring Springs. Mr. Watson served in the Navy during World War II. He was a retired farmer and served as a Motley County commissioner for six years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Baptist church. Survivors include his wife; a son, Stacy Watson of Cisco; a daughter, Retha Smith of Abilene; a brother, C.E. Watson Jr. of Gladewater; two sisters, Velma Morris of Mabank and Muriel Rogers of Vacaville, Calif.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. New Mexico Raymond R. Villa-Lobos CLAYTON, N.M. - Raymond R. Villa-Lobos, 59, died Sunday, July 20, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church by Deacon Louis Montoya. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Francis Xavier by the Rev. George Silva, pastor. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors. Mr. Villa-Lobos was born in Santa Maria, Calif. He moved to Clayton in February from Tulare, Calif., where he had lived for 12 years. He previously had lived in San Diego. He attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church while living in Clayton. Survivors include two daughters, Rayan Herrera of San Diego and Julia Villa-Lobos of Tulare; a son, Ricardo VillaLobos of Tulare; three brothers, Felix Villa-Lobos of Washington D.C., Manuel Villa-Lobos of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Jim Villa-Lobos of Tulare; three sisters, Rose Villa-Lobos of Los Oasis, Calif., Amilia Edwards of Mission Hills, Calif., and Mary Torres of Tulare.
