Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Jay Graham of Paramount Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Errington was born in Harrison, Ark., and grew up in Wheeler, where he attended school. He moved to Amarillo in 1942. Mr. Errington was a retired truck driver for State Chemical Co. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 731, council 134, chapter 196 and the Bonita chapter of the Eastern Star. He was a member of First Christian Church. Mr. Errington married Marjorie Riggs in 1947 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen Kiser. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rossianne Bell of Amarillo; a sister, Exie Jones of Wheeler; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Ralph W. King Ralph W. King, 81, of 5119 S. Bonham St., died Saturday, Sept. 20, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. C. Scott Greer of Paramount Terrace Christian Church and the Rev. Lonny Poe of First Baptist Church in Happy officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gorden Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. King was born in Waxahachie and had lived in Amarillo for 37 years. He married Betty Land in 1952. Mr. King was a salesman in the water systems industry. He worked for Culligan for about 20 years. Mr. King was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. Survivors include three sons, Gary King of Happy, Tommy King of Austin and Billy King of Denison; a daughter, Eulene Morris of Lubbock; two sisters, Oma Daily of San Angelo and Dorothy Underwood of Knoxville, Tenn.; two brothers, Glynn King of Oklahoma City and Lynn King of Lubbock; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, the Paramount Terrace Christian Church building fund or First Baptist Church of Happy. The family will be at 5119 S. Bonham St. Thelma Swagerty Lawler Thelma Swagerty Lawler, 73, of 4518 Shawnee, died Friday, Sept. 19, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage, with the Rev. A.L. Swagerty and the Rev. Robert Field of Southeast Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery, Field of Valor. Mrs. Lawler was born in Campo, Colo. She moved to Amarillo in 1948 from Shamrock. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She married Roy L. "Pete'' Lawler in 1941 at Twitty. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Thelma Jean Mitchell of Amarillo and Patsy D. Blades of Farmington, N.M.; a son, Gary Lynn Lawler of Auburn, Ga.; three sisters, Bernice Coffey of Oklahoma City, Elgevia Burrows of Amarillo and Merieta Swagerty of Sacramento, Calif.; a brother, the Rev. A.L. Swagerty of Anadarko, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Robert Beene Robert Beene, 79, of Cleburne, formerly of Amarillo, died Friday, Sept. 19, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Llano Cemetery with Dale Pearson officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Beene was a longtime Amarillo resident. He worked for Plains Chevrolet for 35 years. He was a member of Northridge Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Johnnie, of Cleburne; a son, Robert D. Beene of Amarillo; a daughter, Frankie McCrady of Canyon; three stepsons, Johnny A. McLaughlin of Southlake, Richard F. McLaughlin of Cleburne and Durrel McLaughlin of Huntsville; a stepdaughter, Eva Duckworth of Rockport; 24 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Valencia A. Butler Valencia A. Butler, 64, of Amarillo, died Friday, Sept. 19, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at N.S. Griggs & Sons Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Bill Fitzgerald, pastor of San Jacinto United Methodist Church, and Glen Walton, pastor of North Amarillo Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Butler was born in Littlefield and graduated from Littlefield High School. She married Billy Dean Butler in 1953 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1986. Mrs. Butler had been an Amarillo resident since 1953. She was a registered nurse and a homemaker. She was a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge. Survivors include two daughters, Terri Jean Pendleton of Fort Knox, Ken., and Cherri Jyton Caudle of Lansdale, Pa.; a sister, Jean Nichols of Gun Barrel City; a brother, Gary Anders of Phoenix; her mother, Edith Anders of Amarillo; and four grandchildren. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Canyon Carol Callahan Carol Ogden Callahan, 51, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Deacon Jerry Grossman officiating. Mass will be celebrated at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Canyon with the Rev. Pat Carathers, pastor of St. Hyacinth's Catholic Church in Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Mrs. Callahan was born in Houston, where she graduated from St. Pius High School and attended the University of Houston. She married Michael A. Callahan in 1965 at Houston. They moved to Canyon in 1974. Mrs. Callahan worked as a secretary for the Canyon Independent School District for 19 years. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, the Texas State Secretaries Association and the Canyon Educational Secretaries Association. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Michelle Bonner of Amarillo and Jennifer Stanley and Robin Callahan, both of Canyon; four sisters, Jean Malek of Mount Laurel, N.J., Diana Hill and Barbara Walker, both of Alvin, and Therese Landry of Houston; and two grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Stinnett with the Rev. Tom Harrison, pastor of First Christian Church of Borger, officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Gidley was born in Lindale and had been a Big Spring resident for 12 years. She had retired as a secretary with Lusby Dirt Contractors in Spearman. She was a member of College Baptist Church in Big Spring. Her husband, B.C. "Buck'' Gidley, died in 1978. Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Roberson of Amarillo and Carla Gay Collinsworth of Big Spring; a brother, James Fowler of Wickett; two sisters, Hester Renick of Borger and Frances Hysell of Pauls Valley, Okla.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Charlene Bragg ESTELLINE - Charlene Bragg, 70, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Fairview Church of Christ with John Bragg officiating. Burial will be at Estelline Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home of Childress. Mrs. Bragg was born in Hartley. She married Ben Bragg in 1945 at Memphis. He died in 1993. Mrs. Bragg was a homemaker and a member of the Childress Anglers and Sportsman Club. Survivors include her mother, Pearl Baskin of Estelline; two daughters, Darlene Galligan of Childress and Brenda Williams of Lubbock; two sons, Eddie Bragg of Amarillo and Gayland Bragg of Wichita Falls; three sisters, Elda Butler, Othel Osborn and Mary Lee Richerson, all of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Virgie Garrison PADUCAH - Virgie Garrison, 93, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ed Peckham, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Paducah by Seigler Funeral Home. Mrs. Garrison was born in Oklahoma and moved to Cottle County in 1918. She married Barney D. Garrison in 1922 at Paducah. He died in 1975. Mrs. Garrison was a retired customer service representative for Sears, Roebuck and Co. She was a past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star at Paducah and a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, B.D. Garrison of Sedona, Ariz., and Joe Garrison of Lake Worth, Fla.; a sister, Clara Tye of Paducah; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Dorothy Summers PANHANDLE - Dorothy Allene Summers, 69, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Theresa with the Rev. Gary Sides officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Mrs. Summers had worked in the trust department for Amarillo National Bank. She moved from Amarillo to Panhandle, where she lived for 30 years.
