Webb Lydia C. Webb, 98, of Glendale, Ariz., formerly of Amarillo, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with Dr. Ernie Williams, retired Disciples of Christ Christian minister, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Webb was born in Missouri. She was a longtime Amarillo resident until moving to Arizona in 1991. She was a homemaker and a member of North Amarillo Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband and three sons. Survivors include a daughter, lola Kochenash of Glendale; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing after 8 a.m. today at the funeral home. Oma Vee Mangum Oma Vee Mangum, 82, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with Dr. Dana Moore of the church and Faye Roberts, pastor of River Road Fellowship Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in Panhandle Cemetery at Panhandle. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Mrs. Mangum was born in Yantis. She lived in Panhandle for years before moving to Amarillo seven years ago. She married J.W. Mangum in 1934 at Sayre, Okla. She was a homemaker and a member of River Road Fellowship Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorraine Poole, in 1976. Survivors include her husband; a son, Rick Mangum of Amarillo; a daughter, Lora Harris of Amarillo; two sisters, Essie Dee Allen of Panhandle and Etta Mae Sandlin of White Deer; two brothers, Sam McLaughlin of Borger and Fudge McLaughlin of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Laverne Ingram Laverne Ingram, 75, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in N.S. Mrs. Ingram was born in Sadler. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She married Cleve Ingram in 1939 at Wellington. He died in 1978. The family requests memorials be to the American Kidney Foundation. New Mexico Dwane G. Beckwith CLOVIS, N.M. - Dwane G. Beckwith, 59, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997. Mr. Beckwith was born in Cleo Springs, Okla. He was a carman for Santa Fe Railway, retiring after 28 years. He served with the National Guard. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Jewell Beckwith. Glee Wood Broome TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Glee Wood Broome, 76, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Dunn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Robert Sawyer, minister of Center Street United Methodist Church, officiating. Private burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Broome was born in Tucumcari and had been a lifetime resident of Tucumcari. She attended Tucumcari schools and graduated from Tucumcari High School. She was a longtime member of Center Street United Methodist Church and was the Sunday school teacher for the kindergarten class for many years. She was active in Bethel Chapter No. 15 of the Order of the Eastern Star and in the Rainbow Girls organization. Survivors include a daughter, BettyeGlee Close of Spearman, Texas; two brothers, Richard Dale Wood of Davis, Okla., and Eddie Wood of Wynnewood, Okla.; and three grandchildren. Area Jack W. McKinney FRITCH - Jack W. McKinney, 69, died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997. Services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Southern Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Simpson, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Garden of Love at Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. McKinney was born in Muldrow, Okla. He had lived in the Hutchinson County area for 48 years and in Fritch for 71/2 years. He was a mechanic for Phillips Petroleum Co. He was a member of and taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church of Borger for 31 years before moving to Fritch. He then became a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Fritch and served on the building and grounds committee. He married Charlene Pickering in 1947 at Paris, Texas. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jack W. McKinney Jr. of Cypress; a daughter, Suzanne Jane Lewis of Weatherford; three brothers, Bill McKinney of Marietta, Ga., L.D. McKinney of Beaver, Okla., and Floyd McKinney of Fritch; a sister, Emma Mae Newby of Bakersfield, Calif.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a stepgrandson. The family suggests memorials be to the Gideons for Bible placement. Linda Gail Newton Holt DUMAS - Linda Gail Newton Holt, 45, of Lakewood, Colo., formerly of Dumas, died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Bethel Assembly of God with the Rev. Robby Holcomb of the church officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Ms. Holt was born in Millsboro, Ky. She lived in Dumas for 18 years before moving to Lakewood, where she had lived for five years. She was an accounts payable clerk for Children's World Learning Center in Denver. She was a member of Dakota Ridge Assembly of God in Littleton, Colo. Survivors include two daughters, Traci Holt of Golden, Colo., and Daisy Melinda Holt of the home; a son, George Holt IV of the home; her mother, Alice Newton of Dumas; her father, George Newton of Dumas; and three brothers, Gary Wayne Newton of Dumas, Jarrett Newton of Odessa and George Newton Jr. of St. Louis. The family will be at 400 N. Meredith in Dumas. Jewel A. Gibbs PADUCAH - Jewel A. Gibbs, 72, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Garden of Memories Cemetery with the Rev. Sam Crosby, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home. Mrs. Gibbs was born in Paducah and had been a lifelong area resident. She attended Paducah public schools. She married Robert Wesley Gibbs in 1940 at Paducah. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Wesley "Robby" Gibbs, in 1970. She was a former veterinary assistant for Dr. J.T. Westbrook and served as the Cottle County justice of the peace from 1977 to 1992. She was a former member of the Pythian Sisters Temple No. 7 and the Delwin Homemakers Club. She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Richard Gibbs of Vernon; a daughter, Rita Gibbs Hughes of Paducah; a brother, Charlie Auld of Maud; five sisters, Mary Henry of Santa Ana, Calif., Shirlene Patterson of Greeley, Colo., Dovie Davis and Glenda Pinner, both of Lockney, and Betty Oliver of Slaton; nine grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren. Mary Ruth Green PAMPA - Mary Ruth Green, 85, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Fairview Cemetery with John Curry and Hank Northcutt officiating. Arrangements are by CarmichaelWhatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Green was born in Davidson, Okla., and had been a resident of Pampa since 1932. She married Francis I. Green in 1933 at Sayre, Okla. He died in 1988. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include a daughter, Francine Northcutt of Amarillo; a brother, Bill Hutton of Vernon; and two grandchildren. The family will be at 7719 White Plains Ave. in Amarillo. Gertrude Fred MORTON - Gertrude Fred, 77, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997. Mrs. Fred was born in Blanchard, Okla. She married Audice P. Fred in 1940 at Hockley County. He died in 1977. She had lived in the Morton area since 1940, moving from Hockley County. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include three sons, Durwood Fred, John Fred and Rickey Fred, all of Morton; a daughter, Phyllis Greer of Morton; a sister, Inice Hill of Levelland; a brother, W.T. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Kress Cemetery at Kress with Drew Travis, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Wood was born in Truscott and moved to Plainview at a young age. She graduated from Plainview High School and attended Texas State Woman's College. She married D. Angus Wood in 1942 at Plainview. He died in 1992. She retired as an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. after 38 years of service. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Charline "Pete" Allen of Plainview; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Ed Garner SPEARMAN - Ed Garner, 76, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997. Committal services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Hansford Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Lust, pastor, and the Rev. Todd Dyess, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Perryton, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Garner was born in Bryson and had lived in the Spearman area for 30 years. He married Alva Smith in 1946 at Mineral Wells. He was a warehouse supervisor for Baker & Taylor Drilling Co. before retiring in 1983. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He had served on the Spearman City Council for 15 years and currently was serving as a councilman. He was mayor pro tem from 1982 to 1988. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Lost Battalion, who were prisoners of war in Japan from 1942 until the end of the war. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Pam Dunlap of Garland and Kathy Brown of Canyon; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to First United Methodist Church of Spearman or a favorite charity. Agnes McLean CHILDRESS - Agnes Ranton McLean, 89, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Wayne Moore of the Nazarene Church in Vernon officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in Swisher Cemetery at Lake Dallas. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. McLean was born in Ferris. She was a former resident of Lake Dallas and Estelline. She was a homemaker and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Calvary Baptist Church. She married Bert McLean in 1928 at Ferris. He died in 1971. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Fern McLean, in 1941. Survivors include two daughters, Fae Wyatt of Tell and Nell Abram of Floydada; a sister, Eula Norwood of Seagoville; eight grandchildren; and 18 greatgrandchildren.
