Georgia St. Mr. Anderson was born in Sebring, Ohio. He graduated from Sebring High School in 1935 and from Mount Union College at Alliance, Ohio, in 1939. He moved to Los Angeles in 1963 and to Amarillo in 1984. He was a member of the First Division of the Army. He was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and Sebring Masonic Lodge. Mr. Anderson married Elsie L. Birkheimer in 1947 at Sebring. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Karen Corbin of Amarillo; a cousin, whom he raised, Maxine Bailey of Kenton, Ohio; two grandsons; and a greatgrandson. She graduated from Amarillo High School and attended Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., and Amarillo College. She lived in Temple, Okla., and Dumas before returning to Amarillo in 1937. She married C.R. "Bob'' Bowen in 1950. Mrs. Bowen was a homemaker. She was active in the PTA and Beta Sigma Phi. She was member of Polk Street United Methodist Church for more than 50 years and taught a Sunday school class for children and was active in the Co-Workers Class and the Marys and Marthas Class. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Janis Reid and Ann Palmer, both of Amarillo; and five grandchildren. The family will be at 303 Partridge Drive. Martinez Jerone "Joe'' P. Martinez, 73, of 300 N. Lincoln, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1997. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Martinez was born in Tivola and had lived in Amarillo for 30 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a retired carpet layer. He married Carmen Fernandez in 1944 at Corpus Christi. She died in 1988. Mr. Martinez was Catholic. Survivors include two daughters, Patty Escobar and Yolanda Martinez, both of Amarillo; a son, Jerry Martinez of Amarillo; a brother, Domingo Martinez of Lubbock; two sisters, Candi Salas of Levelland and Romana Pena of Corpus Christi; his father, Pedro Martinez of Corpus Christi; 16 grandchildren; and 28 greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Hernandez was born in Weslaco. She married Rumaldo Hernandez Sr. in 1960 at Falfurrias. They moved to Indio, Calif., in 1966. Mr. Hernandez died in 1990. Mrs. Hernandez was a member of the Senior Citizens Women's Club of Indio. She moved to Amarillo in 1995. Survivors include five sons, Ladislado Garza Jr. and Rumaldo Hernandez Jr., both of Indio, Bernardino Garza and Tomas Luis Hernandez, both of Amarillo, and Pedro Garza of Happy; six daughters, Helen Garcia, Ignacia de los Santos, San Juanita Gonzalez, Oralia Leal and Diana Bustamante, all of Amarillo, and Esmeralda Hernandez of Indio; her mother, Maria R. He moved to Amarillo in 1943 from Pueblo. He was a brick mason for more than 50 years. He was a member of St. Hyacinth's Catholic Church and St. Laurence Cathedral. He also was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Puleo, in 1994. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Grace Kelley and Jennie Lee Shelton, both of Amarillo; a sister, Mary Clementi of Pueblo; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He married Lucille Steward in 1930 at Tucumcari, N.M. He had been a self-employed contractor for more than 40 years. He was a charter member of Paramount Baptist Church and a member of the Virgil Ballengee Sunday School class. He also was a charter member of the Amarillo Senior Citizens Association. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bob LaMunyon of Belen, N.M., and Al LaMunyon of Las Vegas; a daughter, Judy Bird of Kingwood; two sisters, Susie Smith of Van Nuys, Calif., and Leota Hively of Barnsdall, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will be at 1001 Milam St. New Mexico Emerson Vick PORTALES, N.M. - Emerson Vick, 93, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Chapel with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom officiating. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery. Mr. Vick was born in Oplin, Texas. In 1909, he moved to a homestead in the Richland community of southern Roosevelt County. He moved to Portales in 1930. He farmed near Portales for many years and later owned and operated Vick's Laundry on the Lovington Highway for nearly 25 years. Mr. Vick married Ethel Ridgway in 1931. He later married Clarice Turner. She died in 1987. Survivors include three sons, Coy Lynn Vick of Dallas, Roy Dean Vick of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Wymon Emerson Vick of Houston; three daughters, Verna Faye Pool of Lubbock, Texas, Norene Weigl of Portales and Rita Brumfield of Big Spring, Texas; two sisters, Jewel Owen of Roswell and Nita Hustler of Missouri; 17 grandchildren; and 21 greatgrandchildren. Charles E. Odom Sr. CLOVIS, N.M. - Charles E. Odom Sr., 87, died Monday, Oct. 20, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Kitterling officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Mr. Odom was born in Childress, Texas, and moved to Clovis in 1941. He was an engineer for Santa Fe Railway before retiring in 1975. Elsie Alma Hawkins TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Elsie Alma Hawkins, 85, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. (CST) Saturday in Llano Cemetery at Amarillo. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home. Mrs. Hawkins was born in Lakeview, Texas. She moved from the Tucumcari area in 1959 and lived in Plainview, Texas; Abilene, Texas; and Amarillo. She moved back to Tucumcari in February. Before leaving Tucumcari in 1959, she was employed by The American Cleaners and Sands-Dorsey Drug Store. She was a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include a son, Charles W. Hawkins of Austin, Texas; two daughters, Nancy Hawkins and Carolyn Stull, both of Tucumcari; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing today at the funeral home. Area Harmon Handley LOCKNEY - Harmon Handley, 87, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1997, in Altus, Okla. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mr. Handley was born in Lockhart. He moved to Floyd County in 1925 from south Texas. He was a member of Lockney Masonic Lodge No. 867, the Lions Club, Lockney Senior Citizens Association and First Baptist Church. He married Ann Lou Kelley in 1931 at Clovis, N.M. She died in 1996. Freddie Irene Berryhill BORGER - Freddie Irene Berryhill, 73, a former Borger resident, died Monday, Oct. 20, 1997, in Albuquerque, N.M. She moved to Borger in 1972 and to Albuquerque in 1996. She attended business college in Roswell, N.M., and retired as a secretary for the government. She was a Baptist. Survivors include four sisters, Peggy Anthony of Buffalo, Okla., Lovetta Vaughn of Albuquerque, Jo Coleman of Torrance, Calif., and Billie Jones of Lefors. The family will be at the Crutch Ranch. They request memorials be to Hospice of the Panhandle. James Dale Dickson HEREFORD - James Dale Dickson, 56, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1997. Mr. Dickson was born in Hereford and had been a lifetime Deaf Smith County resident. He was a graduate of Hereford High School. He served in the Marine Corps. He was a mechanic and worked as parts manager for Western Ford and Suits Auto in Hereford. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Hereford Elks Lodge, where he was a chaplain. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zora Edwards Dickson; a son, Eddie Earl Dickson; and a daughter, Holly Rochelle Dickson, all of whom died in 1965. She married Henry M. Eldridge in 1929. He died in 1976. She also was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Eldridge. Mrs. Eldridge was a nurse at Golden Plains Community Hospital in Borger before retiring after more than 20 years of service. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Pampa, Borger Chapter No. 811 of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Golden Grandmother Club of Borger. Survivors include a daughter, Beth Doyle of Pampa; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Jean Reinauer HEREFORD - Jean Reinauer, 84, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1997. She married E.C. Reinauer Sr. in 1934 at Hot Springs, Ark. They moved to Hereford in 1941. Survivors include two sons, Ed Reinauer Jr. and Bill Reinauer, both of Hereford; a daughter, Cecilia Wagner of Dallas; a sister, Stella Petty of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Kerr, 92, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Erick First Baptist Church with Jeff Avery, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Erick Cemetery by Fatheree-Albert Funeral Service. Mr. Kerr was born in Mena, Ark. He married Elsie L. Alexander in 1925 at Mayfield, Okla. They lived in Mayfield; Texline, Texas; and Greenwood, Ark., until 1944, when they moved to Sweetwater. He worked as a custodian at the Sweetwater school. He retired in 1974 and moved to Erick. He was a member of Erick Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife and a son, Billy Kerr. Survivors include three daughters, Laura Williams of Elk City, Norma Cook of Amarillo and Georgia Reed of Sweetwater; two sons, Eddie Kerr of Amarillo and Robert E. Kerr of Erick; two sisters, Mary Williford of Hackett, Ark., and Alrene Reaves of Jackson, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Bobby Dean McCarty FORGAN, Okla. - Bobby Dean McCarty, 40, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Forgan United Methodist Church with Terry Fox officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Canton Cemetery at Canton. Arrangements are by Clark Funeral Service of Beaver. Mr. McCarty was born in Odessa, Texas. He was a truck driver for Schurlock Permian. He married Bette Jo Ann Burghardt in 1978 at Alamogordo, N.M. Mr. McCarty was a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America. He had been a member of Baptist Christ for more than nine years. Survivors include his wife; a son, Josh McCarty of the home; two daughters, Gina and Stephanie, both of the home; his parents, Burns and Frances McCarty Jr., of Alamogordo; one brother, Doug McCarty of Alamogordo; and three sisters, Mary Miller, Lavanda Vasquez, and Charlotte Queenan, all of Alamogordo. Mary Marie Brune OPTIMA, Okla. - Mary Marie Brune, 76, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guymon with Mark Wescoatt, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery at Guymon by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. Mrs. Brune was born in Guymon and raised on the family farm north of Guymon. She was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guymon. She cooked at the Guymon Sale Barn for more than 20 years. She married Ernest John Brune in 1939 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hooker. He died in 1978. She also was preceded in death by a son, Darrel Brune, in March. Survivors include two daughters, Myrtle Costner of Guymon and Karen Stewart of Optima; a son, Ervin Brune of Guymon; her mother, Edna Behne of Guymon; two sisters, Dorothy Farrington of Guymon and Dora Sales of Kingsland, Texas; three brothers, Albert Behne of Hooker, and Robert "Bob'' Behne and Jim Behne, both of Guymon; five grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters. Mr. Lamkin graduated from Hartley High School in Hartley, Texas. He was a Hartley County resident until entering the Army Air Corps during World War II and serving for four years. He moved to Anchorage in 1971 and was an air traffic controller until retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Baptist church in Anchorage and served as its building consultant. He also worked in maintenance. Survivors include his wife, Alene Marple Lamkin; two children, Brian Douglas Lamkin and Cheri Lynn Dahl, both of Anchorage; his mother, Letha Burleson of Channing, Texas; a sister, Barbara Ann Head of Bentonville, Ark.; and six grandchildren. Ocie Burke WICHITA FALLS - Ocie Burke, 73, died Monday, Oct. 20, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Hampton Vaughan Chapel at Crestview with Rev. He married Patsy S. Wolf in 1949 at Amarillo. Mr. Burke was a World War II Army veteran and a member of American Legion No. 169. He owned Burke's Service Center from 1984 until retiring this year. He was a Methodist. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Debbie Reis of Iowa Park; two sons, Larry Burke and Kelly Burke, both of Wichita Falls; a sister, Geneva Stansell of Lockney; a brother, H.C. Burke of Amarillo; and two grandsons. Curtis Wilburn Davis Curtis Wilburn "C.W.'' Davis, 88, of Canyon, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997. Mr. Davis was born in Houston, Miss., and had been a longtime resident of Randall County, moving to Canyon with his parents when he was 4. He was employed by West Texas State College for 11 years before beginning his own stucco contracting business called Mud Slinger. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Davis married Mildred Elizabeth Hancock in 1938 at Clovis, N.M. She died in 1996.
