Calvin Staltel, chaplain, officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery East Mausoleum. Mrs. Harrison was born in Slayton, Minn., and had lived in Amarillo most of her life. She married Billy J. Harrison in 1965 at Amarillo. She was a library clerk before retiring. Survivors include her husband; three sons, James Harrison and Kevin Harrison, both of Amarillo, and Melvin Harrison of Fort Worth; her father, Harold W. Bloch of Anoka, Minn.; eight brothers, Richard Bloch, Willard Bloch, James Bloch, Donald Bloch, Delmar Bloch, Melvin Bloch, Ruben Bloch and David Bloch; three sisters, Elaine Michog, Linda Clark and Karen Styczynski; and a grandchild. The body will be available for viewing this morning. Lester C. Spencer Lester C. Spencer, 88, of 1400 S. Ong St., died Wednesday, July 23, 1997. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Cecil L. Gray of Friendship Nazarene Church in Stuart, Okla., officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Spencer was born in Westville, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo for more than 31 years. He worked in civil service as a shipping and receiving clerk. He married Goldie Williams in 1937 at Broken Arrow, Okla. Mr. Spencer was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of South Georgia Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Donna Ward and Helen Ashley, both of Amarillo; three sons, Henry Spencer, Lester Raymond Spencer and Tommy Spencer, all of Amarillo; a sister, Edna Capps of Locust Grove, Okla.; two brothers, Buddy Spencer of Salina, Okla., and Everett Spencer of Tacoma, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Brewer, 68, of Amarillo, died Monday, July 21, 1997. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with the Rev. Roy S. Wheeler and the Rev. Bob Murphy, both of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home Inc., 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Brewer was born in Cherokee, Iowa. He received a bachelor of arts degree in theology from Minnesota Bible College. He received his master's degree in English from Fort Hays State in Hays, Kan. He married Paula Rae Wellborn in 1950 at Spencer, S.D. Mr. Brewer was a pastor for 30 years. He ministered churches in Wisconsin; Bucklin, Kan.; La Crosse, Kan.; Security, Colo.; and Webster City, Iowa. They came to West Amarillo Christian Church in 1972. In 1979, he began a new career with Farmers Insurance Co., where he continued to work until becoming ill. He had been an active member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church since 1979. Survivors include his wife; three sons, David Brewer of Center, Colo., Doug Brewer of Amarillo and Richard Brewer of Midwest City, Okla.; three brothers, Robert McCormack of Hereford, and Marion Brewer and George Brewer, both of Cherokee; and 10 grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Paramount Terrace Christian Church or a favorite charity. Oklahoma Jerald L. Wadley GUYMON, Okla. - Jerald L. Wadley, 76, died Tuesday, July 22, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with Chris Trent and the Rev. Mearl Wadley officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. Mr. Wadley was born in Hedley, Texas. He graduated in 1940 from Tyrone High School. He was an active member of Guymon First Baptist Church. He served with the 101st Airborne during World War II. He was an employee of Southwestern Public Service Co., Wadley Chevrolet, Memorial Hospital of Texas County and the city of Guymon before retiring in 1990. Mr. Wadley married Ruth C. Yarberry in 1945 at Guymon. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerald L. "Jerry'' Wadley Jr. and Vance Wadley of Los Angeles; a sister, Lena Stalcup of Tyrone; a brother, Mearl Wadley of Owensboro, Ky.; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren. Olivia Abercrombie ERICK, Okla. - Olivia Abercrombie, 91, a former Erick resident, died Wednesday, July 23, 1997, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Erick First Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Graves officiating. Burial will be in Erick Cemetery by Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Mrs. Abercrombie was born in Mart, Texas, and moved to Greer County with her family when she was a baby. She married the Rev. Charlie Abercrombie in 1923 at Elk City. He died in 1995. Mrs. Abercrombie lived in Harmon County before moving to Wheeler, Texas, in 1955. She moved to Erick in 1970. She had been a resident of Amarillo for seven years, moving from Erick. She was a member of First Baptist Church and had been active in church work including teaching and playing the piano and working with youths. Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Staton of Amarillo and Dorla Graves of Oklahoma City; a son, Charles Abercrombie of Amarillo; two sisters, Phara Strawn of Cordell and Gertie "Jackie'' Saulsbury of Weatherford; 10 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. He graduated from the Forgan schools and was employed as a roustabout in the oil field industry. New Mexico Frances L. Armijo PORTALES, N.M. - Frances L. Armijo, 84, died Monday, July 21, 1997. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday in St. Helen Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today in St. Helen Catholic Church by the Rev. Anthony Martinez. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Inc. Mrs. Armijo was born and raised in Encino. She married Louis A. Armijo in 1928 at Encino. They moved to several places until 1945, when they moved to Portales. While living in Portales, she worked in the fields on various local farms. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Steve Armijo, Louie E. Armijo Jr. and Eddy Armijo, all of Portales; three daughters, Josephine Johnson, Angie Gonzales and Cecilia Robinson, all of Portales; a sister, Jesusita Marez of Clovis; 27 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Elsewhere Sandra Hayes EDMONSON - Sandra West Hayes, 36, of Edmonson, a former Plainview resident, died Tuesday, July 22, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in 11th and Amarillo Street Church of Christ in Plainview with J. Henderson and Dee Teel, evangelists from the church, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Hayes was born in Nurnberg, Germany. She grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1979. She married Kelly Hayes in 1981 at Plainview. Mrs. Hayes worked at First National Bank of Hale Center. After getting married, she lived in the Edmonson community. She worked at Edcot in 1992 and 1993 and at Edmonson Wheat Growers in the fall. She was a member of 11th and Amarillo Street Church of Christ, Northwest Extension Homemakers and College Hill PTA. Survivors include her husband; a son, Caleb Hayes of Edmonson; her mother, Betty West of Plainview; two brothers, Randy West and Tommy West, both of Plainview; and a sister, Jeannie Moore of Matador. Roxie A. Martin GALENA PARK - Roxie A. Martin, 59, died Tuesday, July 22, 1997, in Pampa. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Howard-Glendale Funeral Home Chapel in Houston. Mrs. Martin was born in Denton. She married Donald L. Martin in 1958 at Denton. She had been a resident of Galena Park for 37 years. She was a member of Galena Park Church of God. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Edward Martin of Baytown, John Martin of Galena Park and Ben Martin of Deer Park; a daughter, Beverly Ayres of Galena Park; her mother, Bessie Kennedy of Pampa; four sisters, Jennie Conner and Georgia VonKanel, both of Pampa, Dorothy Morgan of Crowell and Venita Kennemer of Visalia, Calif.; three brothers, Mitchell Kennedy and Pharis Kennedy, both of Fort Worth, and Doyle Kennedy of Sacramento, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Hazelwood Green, 90, of Hamlin, a former Amarillo resident, died Wednesday, July 23, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tracy Watson and the Rev. Martin Encke officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin East Cemetery by Foster-Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Green was born in Killeen. She graduated from Hamlin High School in 1926. She received a bachelor's degree in 1948 and a master's degree in 1956, both from Texas Technological College in Lubbock. She taught school in Posey for several years. After receiving her certification in speech-language pathology in 1965, she was self-employed in Amarillo. She also worked in the speech-language-hearing departments of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the Amarillo Public School System. Mrs. Green was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and Pythian Sisters. She was a life member of the American and Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She moved to Hamlin in 1994. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Travis Hazelwood and Harold Green. Survivors include two sisters, Mildred M. Smith of Hamlin and Delores Vahrenkamp of Killeen. The family requests memorials be to the Amarillo Speech and Hearing Center. Dustin was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and had been a resident of Pampa for the past 11/2 years. He recently had completed his sophomore year at Pampa High School. Survivors include his parents, Guy and Shannon Rink of Pampa; two brothers, Damien Rink of San Diego and Daniel Rink of the home; grandparents, Marcelline Flemins of Panhandle, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Cecilia Anne Herzog NAZARETH - Cecilia Anne Herzog, 84, died Tuesday, July 22, 1997. Vigil will be at 8 p.m. today in the CCD Building with Deacon Jerome Brockman officiating. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Catholic Church by the Rev. John Hickey, the Rev. Jerry Stein and the Rev. Jim Hutzler. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Miss Herzog was born in Stanton and had lived in the Dimmitt and Olton area since 1992. She was a former resident of Dallas. She was a registered nurse and was employed by St. Paul's Hospital and the Presbyterian Hospital for 50 years before retiring at the age of 72. Miss Herzog was of the Catholic faith and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She also was a member of St. Ann's Circle, St. Paul's Alumni and St. Vincent De Paul Society. Felix Johnson CHILDRESS - Felix Johnson, 69, died Sunday, July 20, 1997. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Northeast Church of Christ with L.J. Brannon of the church officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson was born in Corsicana. He worked on the assembly line for CocaCola Bottling Co. of Childress for 22 years. He was a veteran and a member of the Blind Veterans Association. He married Ida Vera Burist in 1954 at Hollis, Okla. Mr. Johnson was a member of Northeast Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jarvis Johnson and Travis Johnson, both of Childress; three sisters, Ozzie Lee Brown of Flint, Mich, Louise Ford of Oklahoma City and Opelia Holmes of Wichita, Kan.; two brothers, Curtis Johnson of Childress and E.J. Johnson of Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren. Gilbert Hampton WHEELER - Gilbert Hampton, 85, died Tuesday, July 22, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Church of the Nazarene with Kerry Moore officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Wellington by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Hampton was born in Meridian, Okla., and raised in Wheeler County. He was a dock foreman for Borden's Milk Co. He also was a farmer. He served in Korea with the Army. He married Loretta Irene Hazard in 1935 at Claude. She died in 1943. He married Edna Pruitt in 1949 at Pampa. They moved to Lubbock in 1949 and lived there until moving to White Deer in 1960. While living in White Deer, Mr. Hampton was active in senior citizens' activities. In 1990, he moved from White Deer to Longview and lived there until returning to Wheeler in 1995. He was a Baptist. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Hampton Buttry of South El Monte, Calif., Karen Hampton Power of Longview and Kay Hampton Chowning of Lubbock; two sisters, Opal Hampton Plemmons of Carrollton and Vera Hampton Brickey of Wheeler; a brother, J.C. Hampton of Rialto, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Meals on Wheels or the Wheeler Library. Elizabeth Cobb Bagwell CLAUDE - Elizabeth Cobb Bagwell, 102, died Wednesday, July 23, 1997. Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with Bill Phillips officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle, in Amarillo. Mrs. Bagwell was born in Lindsay and had lived in Claude since 1947. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She married Charles Bagwell in 1913 at Claude. He died in 1966. She also was preceded in death by a son, Louis C. Bagwell, in 1971. Brooks HART - Paul T. Brooks, 77, died Wednesday, July 23, 1997. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald Aalbers, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hart Cemetery by Foskey-LilleyMcGill Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Mr. Brooks was born in Hope, Ark. He attended Mount Olive and McCarty schools. He lived in Lamesa before moving to Hart in 1949. He married Irene Welty in 1939 at Lamesa. He was a farmer and co-owner of Hart of the Plains Irrigation. He became a charter director of Farmers State Bank when it was established in 1957. He served on the Hart School Board for six years and also served on the Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service Committee in Castro County. Mr. Brooks was a charter member of Hart Lions Club. He was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Olton Lodge. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; a son, Thomas Brooks of Hart; two daughters, Neoma Williams of Hart and Sharon Shofner of Lamesa; a brother, Jim Brooks of Clovis, N.M.; a sister, Faye Snell of Ackerly; six grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren.
