Lovett Bessie E. Lovett, 72, of Amarillo, died Saturday, June 21, 1997. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at 9550 S. Blessen Road. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Lovett was born in Amarillo. She had been a homemaker most of her life. Her husband, Hubert Lovett, died in 1995. Survivors include a son, Leslie Lovett of Amarillo; a daughter, Pat House of Amarillo; a brother, Roy Linton of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. The family will be at 9550 S. Blessen Road. George Franklin Frost George Franklin Frost, 48, of Harper, Kan., a former Amarillo resident, died Friday, June 20, 1997, in Wichita, Kan. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with the Rev. B.F. Roberts Jr. of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Frost was born in Monroe, La. He was a truck driver in Amarillo for Affiliated Tendercrust Bakery before retiring in 1996. He moved to Harper four months ago. He was an Army veteran. He married Ella Mae Cochran in 1974 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife, Ella of Amarillo; a son, Chris Frost of Livingston; two daughters, Christina Frost of Arkansas and Debra Frost of Amarillo; a stepson, James Oliveaux of Amarillo; four stepdaughters, Gladys and Angela Cosgilla, both of Amarillo, Glenda Cobb of Herbert, La., and Wanda Alonzo of Harper; 21 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. The family will be at 1413 N. Woodland St. Antonio G. Gonzales Antonio G. Gonzales, 79, of Amarillo, died Thursday, June 19, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Christian Life Center Church with the Rev. Alfred Vargas officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery at Dumas by Warford-Walker Mortuary Inc., 509 N. Hughes St. Mr. Gonzales was born in Rio Hondo and received his education in the Rio Hondo public schools. He had been a resident of Amarillo for 10 years. He was a farm laborer. Survivors include his wife, Eloisa; five sons, Jesus B. Gonzales, Noel Gonzales, Rodolfo Gonzales and Ricardo Gonzales, all of Dumas, and Christoval Gonzales of Dodge City, Kan.; six daughters, Isabell Amparan, Maria Alicia Charles and Beatrice Mena, all of Amarillo, Priscilla Botello of Dumas, Lupe Valencia of Perry, Okla., and Eva Armendariz of Snyder; two brothers, Joaquin Gonzales of Harlingen and Marcelo Gonzales of Rio Hondo; 50 grandchildren; and 18 greatgrandchildren. The family will be at 100 S. Belleview St. Tony Colangelo Tony Colangelo, 73, of Amarillo, died Monday, June 23, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Bret McCasland of San Jacinto Church of Christ officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in Fairlawn Cemetery at Elk City, Okla., with the Rev. Bob Cox of First Presbyterian Church in Elk City officiating. Mr. Colangelo was born in Chicago and had lived in Amarillo for more than 50 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was the owner and operator of Tony's Spray Co. for 50 years. He was a member of San Jacinto Church of Christ, the Golden Spread Pest Control Association and the Texas Pest Control Association. He was a past member of the Better Business Bureau. Mr. Colangelo married Ruth Barrow in Elk City. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Jean Smith, in 1972. Survivors include his wife; two grandchildren, April Chambers of Roswell, N.M., and Raymond Smith of Amarillo; and two great-grandchildren. Simental CLOVIS, N.M. - Maria Elena V. Simental, 81, died Saturday, June 21, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Guadalupe by the Rev. Daniel M. Balizan. Burial will be at a later date in Mount Carmel Cemetery at El Paso, Texas. Cremation and arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home. Mrs. Simental was born in Harrington, Kan. She married Juan Simental in 1938 at El Paso. She was a homemaker. She was of the Catholic faith. She moved to Clovis in 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Martha Telles of Clovis; an adopted daughter, Mary Helen Simental of El Paso; an adopted son, Johnny Simental Jr. of El Paso; a sister, Nellie Martinez of Los Angeles; a brother, Juan Valdez of Los Angeles; three nephews, Alanacio Carrillos, Antonio Carrillos and Eutinuo Carrillos, all of El Paso; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Horace Brock CLOVIS, N.M. - Horace Brock, 77, died Sunday, June 22, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. (CDT) Wednesday in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Pampa, Texas, with Deacon W.L. Baldree officiating. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Brock was born in Chillicothe, Texas, and graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1939. He served in the Navy during World War II. He married Margie Anne Sinclair in 1945 at Seattle. Mr. Brock was a self-employed pumper and driller and contracted work with oil companies. He lived in Oklahoma; Borger, Texas; Chillicothe; and Aspermont, Texas, before moving to Clovis in 1990. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Aspermont and Masonic Lodge No. 1382 in Aspermont. Survivors include his wife; a son, Ben Brock of Clovis; a sister, Wanda Bland of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Clois Brock of Chillicothe; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Evelyn Christopher GUYMON, Okla. - Evelyn Christopher, 81, died Sunday, June 22, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Church of Christ at Hooker with Don Nelson, minister, and the Rev. Lloyd Riddles of Sunset Lane Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. Mrs. Christopher was born in Berry, Ky. She moved to Bucklin, Kan., and attended school there. She graduated from Bucklin High School. She married Robert E. Lee Christopher in 1941 at Syracuse, Kan. They lived in Lamar, Colo., and later moved to several places in Colorado and Kansas. In 1954, they moved to Hooker. Mrs. Christopher worked as a cook at both the El Rancho and Maxine's cafes in Hooker. For 11/2 years, she cooked at the children's school at Enid. In 1985 she moved to Guymon and worked as a cook for the Oklahoman Restaurant. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Christopher was preceded in death by her husband in 1967 and an infant daughter. Survivors include two sons, Sam Christopher and David Christopher, both of Guymon; two sisters, Jean Smith of LaJunta, Colo., and Marsha Smith of Oklahoma City; stepsons, Robert Miller and Charles Miller; a sister, Mary Smith of Johnson, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Noele Denise Davis GUYMON, Okla. - Noele Denise Davis, 42, died Sunday, June 22, 1997. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home with Odie Nunley officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery at Long Beach, Calif. Arrangements also are by Cimarron Mortuary of Boise City. Ms. Davis was born in Long Beach. She attended school in California and later attended Panhandle State in Goodwell. She was a nurse's aide at Guymon Memorial Hospital and then became superintendent of the radiology department. She later began working for McMurry Clinic, where she was an x-ray and lab technician. Survivors include her mother, Mariette Rosenquist of Corona, Calif.; three daughters, Jessica Davis and Sarah Davis, both of Duncan, and Mollie McBride of Keyes; a son, J.K. Davis of Duncan; two brothers, William Rosenquist and Art Rosenquist, both of Corona; two sisters, Sheiran Dewitt of Ben Lomond, Calif., and Jan Rosenquist and Yvonne Mauritho, both of Corona. Elsewhere William Franklin Slover MATADOR - William Franklin "Bill'' Slover, 90, died Sunday, June 22, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Monte Wike, pastor, and the Rev. Rickey Lawrence, pastor of Roaring Springs Full Gospel Church, officiating. Burial will be in Flomot Cemetery at Flomot by Seigler Funeral Home. Mr. Slover was born in Randall County and moved to Motley County in 1914. He married Lena Ethel Titus in 1926 at the White Star community of Motley County. She died in 1992. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Stephenson, in 1983. Mr. Slover was a retired farmer and a member of the Methodist church. Survivors include a son, Billie Ray Slover of Matador; two daughters, Betty Reed of Denver City and Bobbie Starkey of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. John C. Alford PETERSBURG - John C. Alford, 80, died Monday, June 23, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Lowrie, pastor, and the Rev. Russell Pogue, former pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Alford was born in McClelland County. He grew up in Lubbock and attended Lubbock schools. He graduated from Lubbock High School and attended Texas Tech University.. He moved to Petersburg in 1941 and was engaged in farming there. He married Nalta Bright in 1943 at Lubbock. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church. He served as the church Sunday school secretary for many years. He also was a member of the Petersburg Lions Club and the Petersburg School Board. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Merrijon Newton of Ruidoso, N.M.; two sons, Larry Alford of Slaton and Sid Alford of Ruidoso; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Area Lola Ann Caldwell PAMPA - Lola Ann Caldwell, 54, died Sunday, June 22, 1997. Arrangements are by CarmichaelWhatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Caldwell was born and raised in Pampa. She graduated from Pampa High School. She married Dennis Paul Caldwell in 1960 at Pampa. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Regina Hinckley of Idaho Falls, Idaho; two sons, Rex Caldwell of Pampa and Darryl Caldwell of Portland, Ore.; and her mother, Ruth Persons of Pampa. Miles Colbert Sr. PAMPA - Miles Colbert Sr., 96, died Saturday, June 21, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Open Door Church of God in Christ with the Rev. Hubert Kelly, pastor, and the Rev. Carter Smith of Amarillo officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Colbert was born in Idabel, Okla. He moved to Pampa in 1959 from Mangum, Okla. He married Allene Templeton in 1925 at Idabel. She died in 1995. He also was preceded in death by two sons, Aaron Colbert in 1987 and John Colbert in 1972. Mr. Colbert was employed by Palmer Chevrolet in Mangum for many years. He was a custodian for Carver School and Coronado Hospital in Pampa for several years. He was a member, deacon and superintendent of Sunday school at Open Door Church of God in Christ. Survivors include a son, Miles Colbert Jr. of Amarillo; five daughters, Laverne Crenshaw and Ontario Miller, both of San Diego, Jewel Adams of Denver, Loretta Watie of Baytown and Helen Stone of Pampa; a sister, Johnnie Green of Sacramento, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 25 greatgrandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Margie Irene Wilkinson BORGER - Margie Irene Wilkinson, 73, died Sunday, June 22, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Willy Adams of Eternal Light Church and Elvis Peck of Stinnett Christian Outreach Center officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Garden at Highland Park Cemetery by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Wilkinson was born in Tigertown and had been a Borger resident since 1945. She was a homemaker and a member of Eternal Light Church of Borger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Wilkinson, in 1984. Survivors include two sons, Doc Wilkinson of Fritch and Butch Wilkinson of Borger; a brother, Frank Brown of Amarillo; a sister, Della Fay Kirksey of Stinnett; three grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. Dorothy Williams PANHANDLE - Dorothy Williams, 82, died Saturday, June 21, 1997. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Billy Holland, pastor of First Christian Church of Stinnett, officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Williams married Homer Williams in 1932 at Panhandle. She moved to Stinnett in 1938 and returned to Panhandle in 1968. She operated a ceramic shop in her home from 1970 to 1990. She was a graduate of Panhandle High School and a member of First Christian Church of Stinnett. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Lewis Williams and Bill Williams, both of Stinnett, and Ronnald Williams of Calvary, Alberta, Canada; a daughter, Dana Lou Mericle of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Lillie Mae Gatlin MULESHOE - Lillie Mae Gatlin, 69, a former resident of Turkey, Texas, died Saturday, June 21, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Dreamland Cemetery at Turkey with the Rev. Melvin Clinton, pastor of First Baptist Church of Turkey, officiating. Arrangements are by Myers-Long Funeral Directors of Turkey. Mrs. Gatlin was born in Sacramento, Calif. She was a former Turkey resident and had lived in Muleshoe since 1988. She married Olan Gatlin in 1942 at Las Cruces, N.M. Mrs. Gatlin was a homemaker. She also farmed and worked in a cafe. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Dale Gatlin and James Gatlin, both of De Queen, Ark.; two daughters, Wanda Mae Cagle of Abilene and Linda Davis of Muleshoe; three sisters, Wanda Vance and Shirley White, both of Arkansas, and Bonnie Marshall of Hooks; a brother, Marvin Hughes of Arkansas; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
