Kimbrel Martha I. Kimbrel, 70, of 904 S. Bonham St., died Tuesday, April 22, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with Cecil Burch, minister of East Amarillo Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Kimbrel was born in La Crosse, Kan. She married A.W. Kimbrel in 1947 at Jetmore, Kan. They lived in Ensign, Kan., from 1947 to 1961 and moved to Amarillo in 1961 from Muleshoe. Mrs. Kimbrel was a nurse and worked as a physical therapist at the Elizabeth Jane Bivins Home for the Aged and Bivins Memorial Nursing Home for more than 25 years. She was a member of the Ensign United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Beth Kimberlin of Amarillo; a sister, Gwen Sell of La Crosse; two brothers, Dr. L.T. Frazier of Lyons, Kan., and Jay Frazier of McPherson, Kan.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. Frank Edward Quillin Sr. Frank Edward Quillin Sr., 81, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 23, 1997. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Dickerson, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Quillin moved to Amarillo in 1953 from New Mexico. He had been a member of Temple Baptist Church for more than 40 years. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years of service. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include two sons, Dale Quillin of Amarillo and Frank E. Quillin Jr. of Canyon; two brothers, Fred Quillin of Albuquerque, N.M., and Bob Quillin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Ruth Schell of Albuquerque; and three grandchildren. Emma Kathryn Weis Emma Kathryn Appel Weis, 83, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 23, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the old Lutheran Cemetery at Shattuck, Okla., with the Rev. Gary McCellan of Christ Lutheran Church officiating. Mrs. Weis was born in Shattuck. She was a retired homemaker and a member of the Olsen Park Seventh-day Adventist Church. She married W.C. Weis in 1934. He died in 1971. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Salazar was born in Tucumcari, N.M., and moved to Amarillo in 1939. She was a private housekeeper and a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Benny Lopez; five daughters, Barbara Salazar, Natalie Perez, Rebecca Cerda and Ellen Joyce Ornelas Cates, all of Amarillo, and Fredrica Lopez of Alamogordo, N.M.; a brother, Robert Salazar of Amarillo; three sisters, Lucia Quintana of Tucumcari, and Viola Gauna and Eloise Cortez, both of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Roberts, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Clay was born in Waxahachie and attended public school in Wichita Falls. She moved to Amarillo in 1945. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and served as a junior school teacher. She also led the prayer band in the church and the community. She was the General Mission president and organized the mission chorus and was mission treasurer. She was president of Circle II and was a chairlady for Pastor's Aid. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ara Lee Clay, in 1981. Survivors include a daughter, Bessie Mae Martin of Amarillo; two brothers, Aaron Haynes Jr. of Highlands, Calif., and Maurice Haynes of Corsicana; four sisters, Thelma Carraway of Las Vegas, and Earnestine Ward Portis, Lois J. Haynes and Bobbie J. Brackens, all of Dallas; a grandchild; a stepgranddaughter; five grandchildren; and six great-greatgrandchildren. Martin, 65, of Roswell, N.M., a former Amarillo resident, died Sunday, April 20, 1997. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10, in Friendship Baptist Church at Amarillo. Arrangements are by the family. Mr. Martin was born in La Junta, Colo., and had been a resident of Roswell since 1983. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 74 and the Order of the Easter Star Chapter No. 10. He was a master silversmith and taught silversmithing at the Roswell Adult Center until 1995. Recently he and his wife, Joy, traveled and sold their jewelry at arts and crafts shows in Texas and New Mexico. Miss Schneider was born in Erlanger, Ky., and had lived in Amarillo since 1958. She was an accounting clerk for Northwest Texas Hospital. Survivors include two cousins; and friends, Bessie and Harrison Miller. Linda Rose Canzoneri Linda Rose Canzoneri, 54, of Amarillo, died Thursday, April 24, 1997. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Canzoneri was born in California and had lived in Amarillo for seven years. She was a food server for Golden Corral Restaurant. Survivors include her husband, Ray Lebourveau; two daughters, Tammy Snyder and Kim Snyder; and a son, Paul Snyder. Fain M. Cross Fain M. Cross, 75, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 23, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Southeast Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Field officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Cross was born in Cottle County. He served during World War II in the Army 36th Infantry. He was wounded and received a Purple Heart. He married Pauline Catlett in 1947 at Childress. Mr. Cross became a resident of Amarillo in 1950. He worked for Texaco Refinery in Amarillo for 30 years before retiring in 1983. He moved to Hedley in 1983 and farmed until 1992, when he returned to Amarillo. He was a member of Southeast Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sharon Cross and Brenda Smith, both of Amarillo; three sons, Richard Cross of Dumas, Jerry Cross of Lubbock and Terry Cross of Amarillo; a sister, Margie Bennett of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two half sisters, Betty Hadley of Witt, Ill., and Billie Johnson of Alex, Okla.; a stepbrother, Roy Aldy of Fort Worth; a stepsister, Tommie Shadey of Tucson, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and two granddaughters. The family will be at 3401 Mockingbird Lane. Area Chris C. Abersold PAMPA - Chris C. Abersold, 78, died Wednesday, April 23, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Harold Hook, pastor of Hobart Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Abersold was born in Gray County. He lived in Missouri before returning to Gray County, where he had been a resident since 1948. He married Josephine Waddell in 1955. She died in 1994. He was a cement contractor in the area for many years. He also owned several race horses. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Ann of Monroe, Mich.; and a special friend, Robert Craig of Pampa. The family requests memorials be to Hospice of the Panhandle. James Ed Russell FLOYDADA - James Ed Russell, 73, a former Matador resident, died Wednesday, April 23, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in First Baptist Church of Matador with the Rev. Howell Farnsworth, pastor of First Baptist Church of Floydada, and the Rev. Felton Gilmore, pastor of First Baptist Church of Matador, officiating. Burial will be in East Mound Cemetery at Matador by Seigler Funeral Home of Matador. Mr. Russell was born in Matador. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of First Baptist Church of Matador. He had farming and ranching interests in Motley County and worked for the Texas Animal Health Commission for more than 20 years before retiring in 1992. He married Wanda Lewallen in 1991. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kay Watson of Amarillo; a stepson, Carl Lewallen of Lewisville; a stepdaughter, Jayma Montoya of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, Gordon Russell of Hale Center; two grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren. The family requests memorials be to East Mound Cemetery Association of Matador. Modean Graves MULESHOE - Modean Graves, 76, a former Sunray resident, died Wednesday, April 23, 1997. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in the Church of Christ at Sunray with Jim York, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Cemetery at Sunray by Ellis Funeral Home of Muleshoe. Mrs. Graves was born in Shamrock, Okla. She was a resident of Sunray for 50 years. She moved to Muleshoe in 1993 from Sunray. She married Walter Chesley Graves in 1938 at Raton, N.M. He died in 1991. She also was preceded in death by three sons, Roy, Helmer and Richard. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ of Sunray. She also delivered meals for the homebound. Survivors include four sons, Calvin Graves of Bowie, Walter Graves of Lubbock, John Graves of Muleshoe and Dale Graves of Sunray; two daughters, Donna Haire of Sunray and Etta Gail Freeman of Fritch; four sisters, Rosalie Keever of Kennewick, Wash., Mary Lou Carter and Camerine Alpin, both of Dumas, and Ora Etta Morris of San Jose, Calif.; a brother, Vernon Hunt of Houston; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church Chapel with Dr. Max Browning, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Robinson was born in Benjamin. She graduated from Lubbock High School. She married Lon Archer Robinson in 1926 at Plainview. He died in 1988. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Curry, in 1994. After marrying, she lived in Plainview. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and several women's organizations including Women's Forum. She also was a lifetime member of the Women's Society of Christian Service of the Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Reika Gibson of Weatherford and Dr. Cherylon Robinson of San Antonio; a sister, Kayte Kittrell of Lubbock; three grandsons; and five great-grandchildren. Floyd L. Montgomery PLAINVIEW - Floyd L. Montgomery, 79, died Thursday, April 24, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church Family Life Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Montgomery was born in the Center community near Floydada. He grew up and attended school there. He graduated from high school at Floydada and from West Texas University at Canyon with a bachelor of science degree in education. He married Florence Irene McMurray in 1944 at Canyon. After marrying, he received his master's degree in education at West Texas University. He taught school at Glazier, Eastland, Bowie, Shallowater and Panhandle. He also was a principal at Dimmitt and Olton. He moved to Plainview in 1957 and taught fourth grade at College Hill and Edgemere schools in Plainview. Mr. Montgomery was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church and a charter member of the Noon Lions Club. Survivors include his wife; and a sister, Alma Dunn of Floydada. Samuel Molinar HEREFORD - Samuel Molinar, 67, died Thursday, April 24, 1997. Prayer services will be at 7 p.m. today in Gililland-Watson Funeral Home Rose Chapel. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Rose Chapel with Jessie Guerrero, deacon of San Jose Catholic Church, and the Rev. Andres Del Toro officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery. Mr. Molinar was born in Mexico. He moved to Deaf Smith County in 1986 from Perryton. He was a farmer and worked for many years for George Turrentine Farms. He was a member of San Jose Catholic Church and had served in the Mexican Army. He married Olga Martinez. Survivors include his wife; 12 children; three stepchildren, Ricky Alvarez, Diana Martinez and Juan DeSantiago, all of Hereford; three sisters; two brothers; and numerous grandchildren. S.E. Mayo Sr. PANHANDLE - S.E. Mayo Sr., 80, died Thursday, April 24, 1997. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Panhandle Cemetery. Arrangements are by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Mayo had been a resident of Panhandle for 15 years. He was a Methodist. He married Annette Walters in 1933 at Paducah. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Jerry Mayo of Winnemaca, Nev., S.E. Mayo Jr. of Panhandle, Theo Mayo of Gruver, Larry Mayo of Billings, Mont., and Hayden Walters of Canadian; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Elsewhere Winnefred Massey FORT WORTH - Winnefred "Winn'' Massey, 59, died Tuesday, April 22, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Mansfield Cemetery. Arrangements are by Blessing Funeral Home. Mr. Massey was a contractor. He was preceded in death by a son, Keven Kent Massey, in 1992. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; two brothers, Delbert Massey and Virgil Massey, both of Clovis, N.M.; three sisters, Geneva Richardson and Dorothy Hughes, both of Clovis, and Lavern Pullman of Canyon; and a grandson. Allene Young TOPPENISH, Wash. - Allene Young, 72, died Thursday, April 3, 1997. No services have been planned. Arrangements were by Colonial Funeral Home. Ms. Young was born in Amarillo. She lived in Redding for six years before moving to Toppenish in 1996. She worked as a bookeeper and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Milton Denny of Colorado and Clayton Denny of Spanaway; a daughter, Lisa DeWaele of Toppenish; a sister, Edna Priest of Shasta Lake, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Richard Kenneth Oller ABILENE - Richard Kenneth Oller, 61, died Wednesday, April 23, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Oldham Lane Church of Christ with Jimmy Jividen and Don Canter officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at Oklahoma City with Larry McKenzie officiating. Arrangements are by North's Funeral Home. Mr. Oller was born in Seminole, Okla. He attended Putman City School in Oklahoma City and Abilene Christian University. He had been a teacher and administrator in La Junta, Colo., an assistant superintendent in Dalhart and a superintendent of schools in Texline and Sunray. He retired to Abilene in 1995. He was a member of the Oldham Lane Church of Christ, where he served as an elder and a Bible school teacher. He also had worked with church youth groups for 20 years and served as a deacon. He was a hospice volunteer. Survivors include his wife, Melba; two sons, Richard Kenneth Oller Jr. of Trent and Erik Oller of Pueblo, Colo; a daughter, Gae Lynn McInroe of Whiteface; a sister, Karen Davis of Oklahoma City; and four grandchildren. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. New Mexico Albert Dean Kingston PORTALES, N.M. - Albert Dean "Al'' Kingston, 54, of Amarillo, a former Portales resident, died Wednesday, April 23, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Dora Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Hollinger officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales. Mr. Kingston was born in Portales and raised in Portales and Dora. He got his first job as a mechanic when he was 16 years old. He worked for several different garages and dealerships in the area. He moved to Lubbock in 1974 and to Levelland in 1985. In Levelland, he worked for Gentry Ford as a transmission specialist. He moved to Amarillo in 1993 and worked at John Chandler Ford. He married his wife, Helen, in 1996 at Las Vegas. He was a member of the Baptist church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dena Sue Kingston. Survivors include his wife; children, Darlene Wagner of Amarillo, Bud Kingston of Ozark, Mo., Benny Kingston of Texas, Dixie Simpson, Albert Dean Kingston Jr. Evans and Lewis Kingston Evans, all of Portales, and Gina Renee Kingston of Albuquerque; four stepchildren, Carl Avant, Debra Steinman, Sharon Qualls and Terry Avant, all of Amarillo; two brothers, Alford Kingston of Hereford, Texas, and Walter "Red'' Kingston of Mountainair; 12 grandchildren; and seven stepgrandchildren.
