Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with Dr. Stan Coffey of San Jacinto Baptist Church, and the Rev. D.M. Newton, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Entombment will be in Llano Mausoleum. Mr. Worley was born in Joplin, Mo. He moved to Amarillo 35 years ago from Bastrop. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Germany as a surgical technician. He was a pipeline inspector for Gifford Hill American Pipeline Co. and Pioneer National Gas Co. before retiring in 1984. He was a Christian and a member of San Jacinto Baptist Church. Mr. Worley married Edna Savannah "Nanna'' Crowsey in 1941 at Gainesville. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Donna Johnson of Pasadena; a son; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Eldon Lee Hammack Eldon Lee Hammack, 64, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, July 22, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery East Mausoleum with the Rev. Allen Norris officiating. Entombment will be in East Mausoleum by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Hammack was born in Hamilton. He moved to Amarillo in 1990 from Dallas. He married Lora Hammack in 1972 at Dallas. She died in 1993. He was an electrician and a veteran of the Air Force. Survivors include four sons, Lawrence Wayne Hammack and Wesley Powell Hammack, both of San Francisco, William Taylor Hammack of Boise, Idaho, and James Douglas Hammack of Houston; a daughter, Barbara Anne Hammack of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, Taylor Hammack of Silver City, N.M., and Billy Hammack of Houston; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Jo D. Wafford Jo D. Wafford, 62, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, July 23, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Ms. Wafford was born in Pontotoc County, Okla., and had been a longtime resident of Amarillo. She was employed by Furr's Foods before retiring in 1985. Survivors include two sons, Robert Chapmon and Paul Chapmon, both of Amarillo; five daughters, Carol Etheridge and Jody Hughes, both of Amarillo, Nancy Chapmon of Casa Grande, Ariz., Kelly Marsh of Farmers Branch and Nikki Cunninghan of Carrollton; a sister, Marie Chambers of Weatherford; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a companion, Jim Cunningham. The family will be at 3303 S. Van Buren St. Canyon Charlie A. Miller Charlie A. Miller, 79, of Canyon, died Tuesday, July 22, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Dreamland Cemetery with the Rev. John Githiga, rector at St. George's Episcopal Church, officiating. Full military honors will follow. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Holley Funeral Home Inc. Mr. Miller was born in Lumberton, Miss. He was a retired Army captain, serving on Omaha Beach on D-Day during World War II and also serving in the Korean War. After his Army career, he taught economics at WTSU in Canyon before retiring in 1981. Since retiring, he had been active in the Amarillo Photographic Society and the International Society of Poets. He married Sue Barnett in 1940. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Laneda Miller and Kathleen Daniel, both of Austin, and Michele Hart of Lubbock; a son, Charlie A. Miller Jr. of Amarillo; two sisters, Mildred Wheat of Picayune, Miss., and Lorraine Tanner of Jackson, Miss.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Elsewhere Lyda C. Lambert O'DONNELL - Lyda C. Lambert, 99, died Monday, July 21, 1997. Services were at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Clifton Igo officiating. Burial was in O'Donnell Cemetery by White Funeral Home of Tahoka. Mrs. Lambert was born in Wharton County. She attended school in Itasca and business school in Dallas. She married Cliff Lambert Sr. in 1919 at Hill County. They moved to O'Donnell in 1925 from Itasca. He died in 1984. Mrs. Lambert was a homemaker and a member of the Order of Eastern Star and First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Cliff Lambert Jr. of Amarillo; a daughter, Carol Newhardt of Midland; a sister, Hattie D. Mitchell of Itasca; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to The Yellow Rose Christian Home, 2309 Haynes, Midland, Texas 79705. Joyce McMahen Johnson WICHITA FALLS - Joyce McMahen Johnson, 75, died Wednesday, July 23, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Reed, pastor of Liberty Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon with Dr. Strauss Atkinson officiating. Arrangements are by Owens and Brumley Funeral Home. Mrs. Johnson was born in Shannon. She moved to Wichita Falls five years ago from Canyon, where she lived from 1974 until 1992. She also had lived in Amarillo, Childress and Fort Worth. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She retired from the Southland Corp., where she had worked for many years. After moving to Wichita Falls, she worked for Doctor's Nursing Service and Wichita Falls Home Health Association. She married J.H. Johnson in 1942. He died in 1982. Survivors include two sisters, Edith Castle of Shannon and Mattie Bess Elmore of Fort Worth; a brother, Clyde McMahen of Wichita Falls; a son, Ken Johnson of Denton; and a grandson. The family will be at 2803 Elmwood in Wichita Falls. They suggest memorials be to the American Heart Association. Elvis L. Perryman AFTON - Elvis L. Perryman, 67, died Tuesday, July 22, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Afton Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Henderson, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in Spur, officiating. Burial with Masonic graveside rites will be in Afton Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home of Matador. Mr. Perryman was born in Dickens County and had been a lifelong resident of the Afton and Dickens area. He was a retired farmer and trucker. He was a member of the Baptist church and the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include three sons, Jim Perryman of Afton, Bill Perryman of Dallas and Lonnie Perryman of Hilea, Fla.; two brothers, Delbert Perryman of Roaring Springs and Dean Perryman of Beaumont; a sister, Dortha Whitefield of Matador; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Durward Kennith Patterson SULPHUR SPRINGS - Durward Kennith Patterson, 75, died Wednesday, July 23, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Highland Terrace Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Jordan officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hobbs Cemetery near Rotan with the Rev. Jim Morrow officiating. Arrangements are by Peters Funeral Home of Greenville. Mr. Patterson was born in Frances, Okla. He was a World War II veteran of the Seabees. He received a bachelor of arts degree from Texas Tech University and a master's degree from West Texas State University. He was a high school science teacher in several cities including Vega, Dimmitt and Burnet. Mr. Patterson was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church. He married Johnnie Lee Williams in 1953 at Sudan. She preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, David Kennith Patterson of Sulphur Springs; a daughter, Joneta Gwen Patterson of Bushland; a brother, Donald Patterson of Lubbock; three sisters, Alene Bryant of Muleshoe, Geraline Caraway of Lubbock and Yvonne Richardson of West Memphis, Ark.; and eight grandchildren. Wesley William Agler IRVING - Wesley William Agler, 72, of Irving, a former Amarillo resident, died Sunday, July 20, 1997. Services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Plymouth Park United Methodist Church with Dr. Dan Hoke officiating. Arrangements were by Brown's Memorial Funeral Home. Mr. Agler was born in Kansas City, Mo. He retired from the Santa Fe Railway. He was a member of Plymouth Park United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mamie Agler; a daughter, Karen Sue Wehde of Lubbock; two sons, Wesley Agler Jr. of Colleyville and Richard David Agler of Grapevine; two brothers, Kenneth Richard Agler of Denver and Robert Burnham of Amarillo; and six grandchildren. Beryle Dextor Sell Dye FORT WORTH - Beryle Dextor Sell Dye, 89, died Wednesday, July 23, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Lipscomb Cemetery at Lipscomb. Arrangements are by Shannon North Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Dye was born in Alpine, Ark. She was a bookkeeper and a member of Castleberry Baptist Church. She married Jake Sell Jr. in 1929. He died in 1976. She married Lawrence Dye in 1955. He died in 1983. She also was preceded in death by a son, Darle J. Sell in 1985. Survivors include a son, AryLynn Sell; a daughter, Ila Berlyene Kutchinski; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Harold Wallace Collier SMITH CENTER, Kan. - Harold Wallace Collier, 81, died Monday, July 21, 1997. Memorial services were Thursday in First United Methodist Church in Garden City. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Simmons Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Charles Cryderman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Masonic services will be by Western Star Lodge AF&AM No. 174 of Smith Center. Military services will be by Fred Marran American Legion Post No. 166 in Kensington, Kan. Mr. Collier was born in Bellaire and raised on a farm near Smith Center. He graduated from Smith Center High School in 1934. He married Martha Adale Thompson in 1938. Mr. Collier served in the Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946. He was honorably discharged as a technical sergeant. After World War II, he and his wife moved to Liberal and then moved to Garden City in 1949. He worked for Hougaton Production Co. until 1970, when they moved to Amarillo to work for Mesa Petroleum Co. He retired in 1981. Mr. Collier and his wife returned to Garden City in 1983 and lived there until moving to Wichita in May. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Garden City, Western Star Masonic Lodge in Smith Center and the American Legion in Garden City. He was a past patron of Finney County Chapter No. 359 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Garden City. Survivors include his wife; two sons, H. William Collier and John Earl Collier; a sister, Alberta Kirkendall of Smith Center; three brothers, Melvin Collier of Smith Center, and Lester Collier and Chester Collier, both of Hays; and three grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to First United Methodist Church in Garden City or the American Heart Association. Area Henry Crow MEMPHIS - Henry Crow, 88, died Wednesday, July 23, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Spicer Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Newlin Cemetery. Mr. Crow was born in Newlin. He was a ginner with Farmers Union Gin. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a Baptist. He married Louise in 1945 at Goodnight. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mike Crow of Dumas and Lanny Crow of Dimmitt; six grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. J.T. Lindsey J.T. Lindsey, 68, died Wednesday, July 23, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Price-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clinton Young officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park. Mr. Lindsey was born in the Hooleyann community of Hardeman County. He lived in Hardeman County most of his life. He was a retired farmer and rancher. He was an Army veteran and a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Lucille Lindsey; two daughters, Kathleen Barnes of Quanah and Lisa Stevens of Shallowater; a son, Sgt. Paul Wood EARTH - Paul Wood, 83, died Wednesday, July 23, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with Bobby Broyles, pastor, officiating. He had lived in Earth since 1952, moving from Fort Worth. He married Dorothy Huggins in 1939 at Lovington, N.M. He owned and operated Paul's Supermarket in Earth for a number of years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Earth and the Earth Lions Club. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Flynn, in 1994. Survivors include his wife; a sister, Juanita Tolar of Houston; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Pauline Moser DUMAS - Pauline Moser, 81, died Wednesday, July 23, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick Carathers of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Amarillo officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. in Follett Cemetery at Follett. Mrs. Moser was born in Lipscomb County and had been a resident of Dumas since 1949. She was a graduate of Northwestern State University in Alva, Okla., and Western State University in Gunnison, Colo. She taught school for 43 years. She taught English and music for the Dumas Independent School District for 35 years. She retired in 1984. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and was the organist there for 45 years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma International, the Retired Teachers Association and the Texas State Teachers Association. Mrs. Moser was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Moser, on June 20. Survivors include two sons, Dennis Moser of Kingwood and Michael Moser of Houston; a daughter, Esther Bayless of Austin; a sister, Esther Leighton of Eugene, Ore.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Bobby Broyles, pastor of Earth Baptist Church, and the Rev. Kenneth Flowers, pastor of Brownfield First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. Mrs. Sharp was born in Dallas. She was a member of Brownfield First Baptist Church and the Unity Study Club in Tulia. She was a resident of Tulia for 45 years. Survivors include two sons, Eddie Sharp of Brownfield and Paul Sharp of Jeffersonville, Ind.; a daughter, Sherrill Vandergriff of Ralls; a brother, Robert Johnson of Canyon; a sister, Betty Neill of Burnet; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Tulon G. White LAZBUDDIE - Tulon G. White, 79, died Thursday, July 24, 1997. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Lazbuddie United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Turner of Canyon and the Rev. Sidney Parsley of Lazbuddie officiating. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery at Friona by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mr. White was born in Maude, Okla. He had lived in Parmer County since 1939, moving from Maude. He married Willa Vernell Mars in 1941 at Clovis, N.M. He served in the Navy during World War II. He started the Parmer County Draft Board in Farwell in 1940. He built and operated White's Elevator in the Lakeview community, retiring in 1969. Mr. White was a member of Lazbuddie United Methodist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of Independence Masonic Lodge No. 1337 in Corpus Christi. He also was a member of the Scottish Rite in El Paso. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kenneth White of Corpus Christi and Garry White of Friona; a daughter, Gayle O'Brian of Friona; three brothers, N.C. White of Dimmitt, Pete White of Mathis and Harrold White of Portland; a sister, Lucille James of Harrison, Ark.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. New Mexico Ellie Henry PORTALES, N.M. - Ellie Henry, 92, died Tuesday, July 22, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Portales Cemetery with the Rev. Dick Ross officiating. Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Inc. Mrs. Henry was born and raised in Borden County, Texas. She married Archie D. Henry in 1926 at Big Spring, Texas. They farmed near Big Spring until 1945, when they moved to a farm northeast of Portales. Mrs. Henry was a waitress at the Cozy Corner Cafe. Survivors include two nephews, Charles Skeen of Houston, Texas, and James Skeen of Mount Pleasant, Texas.
