Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Booker Christian Church with Jim O'Banion officiating. Burial will be in Heart Cemetery by Good Samaritan Funeral Service. Mrs. Slovacek was born in Elmwood, Okla. She lived in several places before moving to Balko, Okla. She graduated from high school in 1936. She married Frank Slovacek in 1936 at LaKemp, Okla. They made their home on a farm north of Booker, where they farmed. In 1976, the moved to Booker. Mr. Slovacek died in 1990. Mrs. Slovacek was a member of Booker Christian Church. She taught Sunday school there and was president of the Christian Missionary Society for many years. Survivors include two sons, Jim Slovacek and Calvin Slovacek, both of Booker; two brothers, Paschal Hibbs and Ivan LeRoy Hibbs, both of Beaver, Okla.; a sister, Delia Rose of Beaver; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Cecilo Reyna PLAINVIEW - Cecilo Reyna, 89, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Wood-Dunning Funeral Home Colonial Chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Ben Kasteel, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Reyna was born in Mexico. He moved to Plainview from Fort Worth in 1982. He was retired. Survivors include five daughters, Esperanza Alcala of Plainview, and Esperanza Ybarra, Pascuala Muro, Maria Victoria Martinez and Maria Miller, all of Fort Worth; five sons, Marcelino Reyna of Plainview, Gomesindo Reyna of Tijuana, Mexico, Margarito Reyna and Eulogio Reyna, both of Monterrey, Mexico, and Benjamin Reyna of Fort Worth; 29 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel until service time. Olivia G. Alvarado PLAINVIEW - Olivia G. Alvarado, 56, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Elbert Fadallan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Alvarado was born and raised in Hondo. She had lived in Plainview for about 12 years. She married Cipriano Alvarado in 1958 at Taft. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Maria Bonner and Deborah McCray, both of Plainview, and Remie Alvarado of Dallas; three sons, Jose Alvarado, Larry Alvarado and Eric Alvarado, all of Plainview; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Joy Johnson DARROUZETT - Joy Johnson, 78, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Heart Cemetery at Booker with the Rev. Don Travis officiating. Arrangements are by Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck, Okla. Mrs. Johnson was born in Higgins and was educated in the Higgins public school system. She moved from Higgins when she was 18 years old. She married Volney Thomas Johnson in 1938 at Woodward, Okla. They lived on a farm southwest of Darrouzett. She worked around the Follett and Darrouzett area. She also was employed at St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo from 1950 to 1951. They moved to Higgins in 1975, when Mr. Johnson retired from farming. He died in 1986. Mrs. Johnson then moved back to Darrouzett. Survivors include two brothers, Ralph Wassell of San Antonio and Loraine Cooper Wassell of Perkins, Okla.; a sister, Addie Lee Gregg of Sun City, Calif.; and a friend, Billie Lee White of Woodward, Okla. Odessa Randall WELLINGTON - Odessa Randall, 91, of Tucker, Ga., a former Wellington resident, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997, in Monroe, Ga. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Derwin Comer, minister of music and education at First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home. Ms. Randall was born in Hollis, Okla. She was a former resident of Wellington and Harmon County, Okla. She lived in Kankakee, Ill., from 1944 to 1978. She was employed by the state of Illinois as a clerk. She had been a resident of Tucker since 1978. She was a member of Briarlake Baptist Church in Tucker. Ms. Randall was preceded in death by a son, Asa T. Randall, in 1992. Survivors include a son, Gerald "Tex" Randall of Monroe; a sister, Orean Caswell of Hollis; a brother, Johnny Orr of Pampa; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Davis was born in Frederick, Okla. He lived most of his life in Shamrock except for living in Lubbock for the past five years. He worked in the oil and gas industry. He also was a farmer and rancher. He served with the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of 11th Street Baptist Church. Survivors include his mother, Rudene Davis of Shamrock; a son, Justin Shea Davis of Amarillo; three daughters, Amanda Sharae Davis of Roosevelt, Okla., and Anna Marie Davis and Jana Sharee Davis, both of the home; a brother, Curtis "Peanut" Davis of Pakan; and four sisters, Frances Clay of Reydon, Okla., Ned Burrell of Wheeler, Martha Salem of Fort Worth and Barbara Albin of Shamrock. She was a master seamstress and a member of the Rock Creek Church of Christ. She married Ashel McDaniel in 1935 at Silverton. Martinez, 80, of Amarillo, died Friday, Nov. 21, 1997. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today in Our Lady of Guadalupe by the Rev. Michael Colwell of the church. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Martinez was born in Tucumcari, N.M. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She married Bennie Martinez at Tucumcari. They moved to Amarillo in 1950. Mr. Martinez died in 1987. Survivors include four daughters, Emma Hernandez, Antonia Ramirez and Rosa Wilson, all of Amarillo, and Mary Lou Rodrigues of Tulia; three sons, Ralph Martinez, Martin Martinez and Johnnie Martinez, all of Amarillo; a brother, Felix Garcia of Tucumcari; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgrandchild. The family will be at 2408 S. Spruce. Raul P. Bernal Raul P. Bernal, 60, of 4101 S. Bowie St., died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Catholic Church by the Rev. Neal Dee. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Bernal was born in Colorado City and moved to Amarillo in 1963. He had been a brick mason for 45 years. He and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He married Dora Gonzales in 1958 at Odessa. He was preceded in death by a son, Raul Bernal Jr., in 1978. Survivors include his wife; a son, Oscar Bernal of Amarillo; his mother, Carmen Bernal of Andrews; three brothers, Tony Bernal Sr. and Cruz Bernal Jr., both of Odessa, and Jim Bernal of Toma, Wis.; a sister, Betty Bernal of Andrews; and three grandchildren. Hermie Burgess Voss Hermie Burgess Voss, 79, of Amarillo, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997. Voss; three children, Judy Dorsey of Amarillo, John Voss of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jannie Bangs of Austin; a brother, Chester Burgess of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Lillian Belvin Lillian Belvin, 89, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. David Hill Sr., pastor, officiating. She later moved to Amarillo and worked as a beautician before retiring. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and the Court of Calanthe, Court No. 297. Survivors include her husband, A.L. Belvin. The family will be at 103 N. Washington St., No. B. Robert Mack Rogers Robert Mack Rogers, 75, of Amarillo, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997. Mr. Rogers had lived in Amarillo since 1964. He was a retired restaurant owner and operator. He served with the Marines in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a Baptist. He married Norma Ruth Sharp in 1941 at Canyon. Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by a son, Richard L. Rogers, in 1989. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Garrett Lee Rogers of Greenville, N.C., and Gene Rogers of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Annette C. Waldrop Annette C. Waldrop, 80, of 1507 Line Ave. No. B, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 1997. She attended Strayer, Bryan and Stratton Business College in Baltimore. She worked at Pantex during World War II. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. She married Vernon Waldrop in 1950. He died in 1979. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda, in 1954. Margie Imogene Sims Margie Imogene Sims, 80, of 4031 Concho St., died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Southeast Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Bennett of Freedom Baptist Church and the Rev. Robert Field of Southeast Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Mausoleum by BlackburnShaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Ms. Sims was born in Mount Pleasant and had lived in Amarillo for 55 years. She worked as an agent for Kentucky Central Life Insurance Co. for 20 years. She also worked for the Senior Citizens Association for 12 years. She was a member of Southeast Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Jean Hall of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family will be at 4031 Concho St. New Mexico Lema Elizabeth Whitley CLOVIS, N.M. - Lema Elizabeth Whitley, 89, died Friday, Nov. 21, 1997. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery at Amarillo with the Rev. Bill Gehm of Grace Community Church in Amarillo officiating. Arrangements were by Muffley Funeral Home. Mrs. Whitley was born in Jacksboro, Texas. She was a homemaker and an ice cream maker at Swifts Ice Cream in Amarillo. She moved to Clovis in 1994. She married John D. Whitley in 1925 at Floydada, Texas. He died in 1985. Survivors include three sons, Clinton Whitley of Abilene, Texas, Billy Whitley of San Angelo, Texas, and Bobby Whitley of Clovis; two daughters, Louise Schuricht of Georgetown, Texas, and Mary Stover of Del City, Okla.; a brother, Robert K. Love Sr. of Plainview, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren. Carl Joseph Weber MELROSE, N.M. - Carl Joseph Weber, 83, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997. Services were at 2 p.m. Monday in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel in Clovis with the Rev. Carlos Chavez officiating. Burial was in Mission Garden of Memories. Mr. Weber was born in Ellis, Kan. He was Catholic and attended Catholic school in Ellis. He was a farmer most of his life with the exception of 20 years that he spent at Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colo., where he retired as an electrical engineer. Mr. Weber was preceded in death by a son, Ralph A. Weber. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce M. Truxal of Melrose and Loretta A. Burrow of Arlington, Texas; a son, Ronald J. Weber of Arvada, Colo.; two sisters; a brother; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Nancy Rosetta Bassett FELT, Okla. - Nancy Rosetta Martin "Rose" Bassett, 97, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 1997. Graveside services will be at 1:30 (MST) Wednesday in Barton Cemetery at Edgewood, N.M., with W.G. Williams officiating. Arrangements are by Cimarron Mortuary of Boise City. Mrs. Bassett was born in Pryor. She married Leslie D. Bassett in 1920 at Estancia, N.M. They lived in Venus, N.M., then moved to nearby Edgewood, where they farmed and ranched for many years. Mr. Bassett died in 1976. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Edgar in 1957 and Sanford in 1987. After her husband died, Mrs. Bassett moved to Happy, Texas, and lived there for four years. She then moved to Felt, where she lived for 11 years before moving to Cimarron Nursing Home in Boise City. Survivors include a daughter, LaRue Myers of Felt; a son, Bruce Bassett of Happy; eight grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Cimarron Nursing Home c/o Cimarron Mortuary. Hubert J. Lilley DURANT, Okla. - Hubert J. Lilley, 77, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Koonce and Roy Boatner officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery by Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home. Mr. Lilley was born in Durant. He had been a lifelong resident of Durant and Bryan counties. He attended Roberta, Blue and Durant schools. He graduated from Utica High School. He married Eula Faye Mattingly in 1944 at Durant. Mr. Lilley worked at the CCC Camp for two years before going into the military. He served with the Army during World War II. He was wounded in New Guinea and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a mail carrier and a rural mail carrier in Durant for 37 years before retiring. He was a member of the Veterans Association, the Disabled American Veterans and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Mr. Lilley was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and was ordained as a deacon there in 1949. He also served as chairman of the board of deacons, Sunday school director, training union director and director of several Sunday school departments. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Dean Lilley, in 1976. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Darla Lilley Edgmon of Oklahoma City and Shirlene Lilley of Lubbock, Texas; three brothers, Eugene Lilley of Mead, and Boyd Lilley and Barnett Lilley, both of Durant; a sister, Vella Lilley Adams of Northridge, Calif.; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
