Rackley Craig T.Z. "Ted'' Rackley, 82, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Gene Shelburne of Anna Street Church of Christ officiating. Private committal will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Rackley was born in Polk County, Ark. He moved to Amarillo in 1954 from Canadian. He married Stella Sollock in 1933 at Gageby. Mr. Rackley was a locomotive engineer for Santa Fe Railway before retiring. He was a member of Palo Duro Masonic Lodge No. 1239, Elks Lodge No. 299, the Oddfellows and the Royal Neighbors. He was preceded in death by a son, Ted Z. Rackley. Survivors include his wife; three sons, John Marvin Rackley of Amarillo, Emmett LeRoy Rackley of Charleston, S.C., and Robert Alan Rackley of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Mary Ann Putman of Albuquerque, N.M.; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. John Paul Skerik John Paul Skerik, 69, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 1997. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Hyacinth Catholic Church by the Rev. Bert Horvath, parochial vicar. Burial will be private in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Skerik was born in Burlington, Iowa, and had lived in Amarillo for 23 years. He was employed by Mason & Hanger for 30 years. He later retired from Utility Trailer. He served with the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. Mr. Skerik married Joanne Beckman in 1947 at Burlington. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lynn Braudt of Amarillo; two sisters, Mary Cox of Burlington and Betty Lee of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and three grandchildren. Perdin Haugen Perdin "Dean'' Haugen, 70, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 1997. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Sister Mary Morrissey, director of pastoral care at Crown of Texas Hospice, officiating. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Mr. Haugen was born in Grand Forks, N.D. He was a graduate of the University of North Dakota. He served with the Army in Korea during the Korean War. He moved to Amarillo in 1969. Mr. Haugen helped found Mur-Tex Fiberglass. He then started his own company, Amarillo Fiberglass, and later Dean's Fiberglass Products. He attended Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Haugen, in 1983. Survivors include a daughter, Shelley Caldwell of Amarillo; a son, Dean Michael Haugen of Denver; three brothers, Kenneth Haugen and Del Haugen, both of Minneapolis, and Jimmy Haugen of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; a sister, Adeline Dahl of Minneapolis; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild. Mary Lee Hunter Mary Lee Hunter, 74, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 1997. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Hunter was born in Pottsboro and had lived in Amarillo for 40 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Hunter, in 1979. Survivors include a son, Jerry Hunter of Mount Pleasant; two sisters, Pauline Cass of Amarillo and Ruby Sullivan of Lubbock; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. McLoughlin, 69, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 1997. Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church by Monsignor Joseph Tash, pastor. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home Inc., 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. McLoughlin was born in Colon Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1968, he emigrated from Argentina to Houston. He obtained his U.S. citizenship in 1992. He married Sara Catalina Fink in 1952. Mr. McLoughlin started the Kettle restaurants in Amarillo in 1978. He retired in 1994. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kelly K. Pearson of Amarillo; a son, Hector G. McLoughlin of Amarillo; a sister, Teresa McLoughlin of Argentina; two brothers, Patricio F. McLoughlin of Argentina and Jose S. McLoughlin of Houston; and three grandchildren. Tellman Charles W. "Chuck'' Tellman, 62, of Amarillo, died Friday, Oct. 24, 1997. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Sunday in St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday in St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home Inc., 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Tellman was born in Eugene, Mo. He moved to Texas in the early 1950s. In 1961, he started building metal buildings, and in 1975, he started his own construction company called Nova Construction. He married Betty Ann Koetting in 1961 at Amarillo. Mr. Tellman was a member of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. He was a 3rd Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Lynne Tellman and Andrea Cochran, both of Amarillo; three sons, Kenn Tellman of Tyler, and Robert Tellman and Chris Tellman, both of Amarillo; four sisters, Jacqueline Newmann and Wanita Bublis, both of St. Louis, Bonnie Newmann of Hoffman Estates, Ill., and Loretta Colvin of Washington, Mo.; four brothers, Don Tellman of Darwin, Australia, Roger Tellman and Russell Tellman, both of Eugene, and Mike Tellman of Bloomington, Ill.; and eight grandchildren. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Friday in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Arrangements were by Runyan Mortuary. Mr. Stinnett was born in Dumas, Texas. After spending his childhood in Moore County, Texas, he lived in several places before moving to Buena Vista about seven years ago. Survivors include two sons, Willie Stinnett and Leslie Stinnett, both of Dumas; his parents, Virgil and Jean Stinnett of Dumas; a brother, Wendell Stinnett of Saginaw, Texas; and two sisters, Judy Brooks of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Linda Henry of White Settlement, Texas. Bobby Joe Lamkin ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Bobby Joe Lamkin, 63, died Monday, Oct. 20, 1997. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Edwards, pastor, officiating. Canyon Melvin Lafelle Hollis TEXHOMA, Okla. - Melvin Lafelle Hollis, 71, died Friday, Oct. 24, 1997. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Texhoma United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dane Lemmons officiating. Burial will be in Texhoma, Texas, Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home. Mr. Hollis was born in Boise City. He attended Texhoma schools and graduated from Texhoma High School. He married Alice Gens in 1944 at Texhoma. Mr. Hollis was a farmer and rancher until the past five years, when he was employed by the McGarraugh Lease Operations as a contract pumper. He was a member of United Methodist Church and the Scottish Rite. He was a past Worshipful Master of Texhoma Masonic No. 382 AF&AM and a past Worthy Patron of the Texhoma Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Loretta Vick of Perryton, Texas; a son, Melvin Hollis of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Louise Wyatt of Wimberly, Texas, and DeEtta Phipps of Henrietta, Texas; and five grandchildren. Area Scott Becker MEMPHIS - Scott Becker, 34, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Taylor, pastor, and the Rev. O.K. Bowen, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington. Mr. Becker was born in Hereford. He attended Memphis High School. He was a heavy-equipment operator for Fuller and Sons Road Construction. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Courtney Becker, in 1989. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Loyd and Lavell Becker of Memphis; a son, Nicholas Becker of Amarillo; a brother, Steve Becker of Childress; a sister, Kathy Dean of Newcastle, Okla.; and his grandmother, Lila Becker of Memphis. The family requests memorials be to First United Methodist Church of Memphis. Bill Cole BOVINA - Bill Cole, 69, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Bovina Cemetery with the Rev. Don Boren of Friona Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mr. Cole was born in Washington, Iowa. He had lived in Bovina for 20 years, moving from Muleshoe. He married Monique Watson in 1980 at Bovina. Mr. Cole was a superintendent at Excel in the Hyde Department. He was a military police officer with the Army during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jon Cole of Lubbock; a daughter, Lou Ann Hillhouse of Lubbock; two stepsons, Larry Paul Hart of Solvang, Calif., and Leslie Shane Hart of Bovina; and a stepdaughter, Becky Dana Bell of Memphis. Karen Kay Vines DUMAS - Karen Kay Vines, 58, died Friday, Oct. 24, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Willingham, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Vines was born in Amarillo and had been a Dumas resident most of her life. She retired in 1994 as a teacher's aide for the Dumas Independent School District. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Boise City, Okla. She married Jim Vines in 1959 at Masterson. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Tammy Malone of Amarillo; two sons, Jay Vines and Scott Vines, both of Dumas; her mother, Becky Martin of Wheeler; a sister, Jerry Taylor of Wheeler; and five grandchildren. The family will be at 516 Hickory. They request memorials be to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. 2nd, Dumas, Texas 79029. Owen Henry CHILDRESS - Owen Henry, 92, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 1997. Graveside services will be at 4:30 p.m. today in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Paducah with the Rev. Ivan Allen of Childress officiating. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home of Paducah. Mr. Henry was born in Wilbarger County. He lived in Paducah, where he owned and operated Paducah Parts Co. from 1914 to 1948. He moved from Quanah to Childress in 1953 and owned and operated Owen Henry Auto Parts. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Childress. Survivors include his wife, Juanita; two sons, Pat Henry of North Little Rock, Ark., and David Henry of Childress; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
