Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Llano East Cemetery, Field of Valor, with the Rev. Robert Field, pastor of Southeast Baptist Church, officiating. Military rites will be by the United States Army, 4th Infantry Division from Fort Hood. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Porter was born in Post and moved to Amarillo in 1993. He served in the Army for more than 20 years before retiring in 1983. He married Luanne Mitchell in 1972 at Claude. Mr. Porter was a Baptist and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4506. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Arlie Porter of Pocatello, Idaho, and George Porter of the home; a sister, Ann Gubala of Rowlett; four brothers, Grady Porter of Bartlesville, Okla., Claude Porter of Floydada, Billy Porter of Carrollton and Bernice Porter of Borger; and two grandchildren. The family will be at 2901 Salem Drive. They request memorials be to the Georgia Manor Nursing Home or Crown of Texas Hospice. The body will not be available for viewing. Orvilla Nussbaum Orvilla Nussbaum, 95, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, June 25, 1997, in Houston. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Ken Keller of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church by Rev. Keller. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Nussbaum was born in Custer County, Okla. She was a charter member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a longtime member of St. Anthony's Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, George F. Nussbaum, in 1965; and a son, Walter F. Nussbaum. Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Detten of Houston; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will be at 3901 Navasota Drive. They request memorials be to St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund. New Mexico Lillian Gwinn TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Lillian Gwinn, 85, died Tuesday, June 24, 1997. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Dunn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Gwinn was born in Honey Grove, Texas. She had been a resident of Tucumcari since 1974, moving from Phoenix. She was a member and past president of the Pioneer Senior Citizens. She also was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Gwinn, in 1991. Survivors include a son, Tommy Gwinn of Tucumcari; a daughter, Treva Burgess of Tucumcari; two sisters, Mattie Long of Burbank, Calif., and Valarie Ausmus of Hitchcock, Texas; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home until service time. Oklahoma Robert Gordon Dotson TEXHOMA, Okla. - Robert Gordon Dotson, 79, died Tuesday, June 24, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Christian Church with Mike Dumler, pastor, and Brian Ingalls, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Texhoma, Texas, Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home. Mr. Dotson was born in Plemons, Texas, and moved with his family to Texhoma. He graduated from Texhoma High School in 1937 and attended Panhandle A&M College for two years. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Leona Deetjen in 1963 at Casper, Wyo. They lived in Colorado, Wyoming and Albuquerque, N.M., before moving to Texhoma in 1995. Mr. Dotson was a member of the Christian Church, the Blue Lodge, the Shriners and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge in Rio Rancho, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Claudia Gay Anderson of Riverton, Wyo.; six sisters, Vera Gaillard, Reba Freeman and Louise Evans, all of Texhoma, Audrey Dodd of Texarkana, Texas, Capitola Brunk of Bellevue, Wash., and LaNelle Pearson of Balko; a brother, Gene Dotson of Texhoma; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family requests memorials be to the Texhoma Cemetery. Memorials will be accepted at the funeral home. Area Lena O. Wright BORGER - Lena O. Wright, 90, died Tuesday, June 24, 1997, in Claude. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Westlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Darrell Trout, pastor of Assembly of God Church of Fritch, officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors. Mrs. Wright was born in Whitney and had been a Borger area resident for 55 years. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.G. Wright, in 1988. Survivors include a sister, Harriet Parsley of Amarillo. Winston Harrison Hamilton SILVERTON - Winston Harrison Hamilton, 84, died Tuesday, June 24, 1997. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Edwin Norris and the Rev. Jay Stinson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Silverton Cemetery by Myers-Long Funeral Directors. Mr. Hamilton was born in Malone. He was a farmer and owned a wholesale oil company dealership. He was a member of the Baptist church. He married Lorena Huckaby in 1930. She died in June 1980. He also was preceded in death by a son, Freddy Hamilton. He married Josephine Mallow in September 1980 at Silverton. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Wayne Hamilton of Tulia and Melvin Hamilton of Spearman; two stepdaughters, Becky Brown of Lubbock and Sandra Rampley of Roswell, N.M.; eight grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Silverton Volunteer Ambulance Service or the Silverton Cemetery Association. Barnard Lee Butts QUANAH - Barnard Lee Butts, 72, died Wednesday, June 25, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Price-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jesse Dea officiating. Burial will be in Goodlett Cemetery at Goodlett. Mr. Butts had lived in Hardeman County since 1925. He was a retired farmer and rancher. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a veteran of World War II. He was a former president of the Quanah Riding Club and the Goodlett Farmers Co-op. He also was a former director of the Rolling Plains Cotton Growers Association. Mr. Butts married Monteen Fitzhugh in 1945 at Vernon. Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard Butts of Amarillo; two daughters, Rita Butts and Peggy Butts of Amarillo; a brother, Wade Butts of Quanah; and a sister, Kathryn Lepard of Roswell, N.M. The family requests memorials be to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.
